Elisa has helped us out with our panther chameleon on numerous occasions. She is an outstanding woman! she responds quickly and is willing to do anything to help you and your pet, which is just wonderful. She came over to our home as soon as she was available and helped us to get our chameleon back on the mend after he had got an infection. She taught us how to take care of healing the infection with her organic techniques and because of her, our chameleon is making great progress! This is an amazing organisation and we are beyond grateful for everything Elisa has done to helps us and advise us. She's lovely, funny, and we love her! Thank you so much Elisa! Cheech would not be the same without your help!!!! Xxxxx

I have personally been keeping chameleons for 40 years as of this year. It is very rare I ever write a review that is positive when it comes to anything chameleon related. At the Pomona reptile super show I had the pleasure of meeting Elissa from ChamEO. I was helping Dragon Strand promote their chameleon cages and our booth was next to ChamEO. During the two days of the show I saw their booth just packed, to the point you would think they had something to sell which they didn't. I watched as this nice lady combated the rampant stupidity that is involved in keeping these neat animals. She was seriously educating people as I listened in. Something the people selling the chameleons rarely do. Among the rescued chameleons she had on display I saw a few survivors she had saved. Among them a veiled chameleon that needs to be hand fed that only a dedicated keeper could have kept alive and turned around.

Another animal she had was a male Quad named Lemmy. I have been involved with Quads for sometime and had room for two. I inquired about Lemmy and learned his sad story, but despite years of not being cared for Elissa had turned him into a show worthy animal, what caught my eye was hold bold he was despite the crowds looking at him, quite unlike most Quads. I ended up adopting him and a female Quad also in need of a home. The animals are in very good condition, clearly a reflection of the person who rescued them. I have nothing but positive things to say about ChamEO after watching her for two days at the show and talking to her.

Chameleon Education and Outreach, Inc. ( ChamEO) is rare among so-called chameleon-focused rescues in that it is a bonafide chameleon rescue that does things correctly and acts in the best interest of the animals, other keepers and the community. In particular, ChamEO is a non-profit chameleon rescue with 501(c)(3) status since 2007. ChamEO is run by an extremely experienced chameleon keeper with extensive experience in the captive husbandry and propagation of a diversity of chameleon species, including the treatment of a wide range of disorders. They actively promote and employ husbandry techniques that are in the best interest of the animals and maintain their animals in a lush greenhouse with individual enclosures for their animals. They work directly with experienced reptile vets to ensure their animals receive the best care possible and do not perpetuate the problem by purchasing rescues from retail locations. They also actively cooperate with US Fish & Wildlife and other management agencies to ensure that confiscations are well cared for. ChamEO represents exactly what a chameleon rescue operation should and deserves an incredible amount of respect and support from the chameleon community!

Elisa and ChamEO provide a invaluable resource to chameleon owners all over. Her wealth of knowledge has helped me through some tough situations that I was too inexperienced to handle by myself. Her passion for what she does is quite evident in all the help and knowledge she provides to those who seek it.

Every once in a while, passionate people follow their dreams and answer their calling. When they do, the rest of us benefit from all of the devotion they pour into their passion. Elisa Hinkle has done this through her Chameo organization. She has a deep understanding of the needs of the chameleon, a heart for their welfare and the knowledge needed to provide for both so that they can live healthy lives, She helps to make their lives better through careful placement and ongoing education for the chameleon keeper. Her comprehensive organization and supporting website is exemplary for any non profit, rescue and welfare group. I am fortunate to have found her and have learned so much from her about chameleons and their care.

I've known of Elisa and ChamEO for quite a while but I have only known her personally for a short time.

In that time I have not only learned a great deal and gotten much needed insight on caring for some ailing chameleons: I have also been fortunate enough to get to know an amazing woman with an incredible passion for chameleons.

Elisa not only spends much of her time caring for rescued chameleons, she is in contact with chameleon keepers needing assistance, planning educational trips for chameleon lovers, educating the public and organizing breeding programs for chameleons rarely seen in captivity.

I am thrilled to be able to help her in any way I can and share this incredible resource with the chameleon community.

Words cannot describe how much of an asset this rescue is to the chameleon community. Elisa strives to not only give superior care to all of the animals in her care, but also sharing her experiences with others. She is willing to help people even if it is their first time meeting/talking. ChamEO is an essential part of the community, and we cannot thank her enough for what she does.

Chameo has been a lifesaver! I was planning to attend a local reptile show and took a look at the exhibitor list, from which I came across Chameo.org.

Chameo has been instrumental in providing expert advice on the proper way to care for Chameleons. Moreover, whenever I need some last minute advice or questions answered, I can always count on Chameo.org to be available and attentive to my Cham's needs.

It's a true blessing to have someone so dedicated to the proper care of these little unique animals. Thanks Chameo and keep up all the good work!

Over the last 30 years I have watched as the chameleon pet trade has grown from being made up of specialized niche reptile enthusiasts to being made up of people owning a reptile for the first time. As chameleons require special conditions, education is key to preventing diseases such as Metabolic Bone Disease, respiratory infections, and eye infections. ChamEO is much more than just a rescue that takes in chameleons that come from bad husbandry situations or from homes that cannot take care of them any more. ChamEO is proactive in educating the community in proper husbandry so there are fewer chameleons that need to be "rescued" in the first place. Elisa, the founder, works with the community through her ChamEO forum and as a presence at various reptile shows were people are most likely to make impulse decisions regarding purchasing a chameleon.
ChamEO has provided a place for lost chameleons to get a second chance in life. Her extensive application process that potential adoptees go through is comprehensive and ensures the new owner is ready for all aspects of keeping a chameleon.
I have already seen the good that her involvement in the community has brought and I look forward to her expanding her influence in this sphere. Her greenhouse is a model of husbandry and sets the standard. It is the example by which she is able to show, via pictures and video on social media, how things should be done. Visual example is more powerful than a long care sheet.

I had the good fortune of meeting ChamEO at the reptile expo in Anaheim where I purchased a Jackson's Chameleon.

I have never needed to have a lot of the necessary equipment for the Jackson's before as I lived in Hawai'i last time I had them.

Elisa was an invaluable resource - providing a great checklist of items I'd need, supplying the beautiful Hoya and Pothos plants that are currently thriving in his enclosure, and selling me a fantastic MistKing.

She has continued to answer questions I have had since the Expo and seems to genuinely care about chameleons. She took an immediate interest in my chameleon's well being (he looked very stressed out, skinny, and dehydrated.

Thanks to the excellent help I got from Elisa and ChamEO my little Sugalur Pop made a speedy turn around and is now greedily devouring every insect that crosses his path.

Thanks again, ChamEO! You've helped make my little guy healthy and happy.

For as long as I have known Elisa, she was seeking ways to give back in a larger sense to the chameleon-keeping community, in an effort to selflessly help both the animals and and their aficionados. She has truly accomplished this with ChamEO, and I'm proud to be affiliated on any level with this organization. ChamEO was developed out of necessity, and stands out in my mind as prominent chameleon rescue, truly dedicated to the animals first, and helping those who work with them. Through workshops and information dissemination, its website Chamlist.org acts a resource for hobbyist and chameleon rehabilitators.

ChamEO has been in existence for over ten years and is the only organization of its kind for chameleons with an IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, charity status. Elisa's knowledge of chameleon husbandry is extensive and she loves to help people with their chameleons. As well as rescue work which is ongoing, there are currently two breeding programs that the public can get involved in. There is also a trip to Madagascar in the planning stages for early 2017. So check out www.chameo.org for all the details.

ChamEO is an incredible organization that provides the best care for the animals, and the best education for the public.
From taking on animals in need, to teaching others about proper care , ChamEO also documents ALL of their animals, every step of the way, providing information for future generations to reference to.
Also gathering data on behaviors such as breeding, medical treatment and response, and environmental acclimation, all of which can be used for multiple purposes in husbandry and science.
ChamEO is MUCH more than just a 'rescue'.
