Challenge Africa is a small but quite potential Organization to changing the lives of villagers in the communities around the lake basin(lake Victoria in Western Kenya,Nyanza province).Sustainability of the community driven development projects is essentially integral part of Challenge Africa which impacts with positive changes to human life in the host community.
This charity is a family affair for us. Me and my children love to support Challenge Africa. Knowing that 100% of the money raised goes to the people who need it is motivating. Inspiring work by amazing people to help amazing ppeople.
Challenge Africa has played great role in transforming lives in the rural community amongst the vulnerable groups living in the villages of Western Kenya,Nyanza province, boardering lake Victoria where Hi/AIDS has neen a challenge! These groups include the old,the sick and orphaned children.Through its sustainable initiatives, Challenge Africa has given new hope and bright future for the poor rural by piloting community driven food security initiatives and sponsors disadvantaged children for education.Challenge Africa trains care givers and facilitate guidance and counseling programs for those who are affected and infected by HIV/AIDS.Eventually, the host community would become holistically self reliant in terms of livelihood, health and education provision.
I wish every charity was as honest and transparent as Challenge Africa. I have donated and seen exactly where my money goes (practically to the grain of rice and number of screws on buildings-everything is considered and accounted for) They take no salaries or office costs and appear to put real thought into how every donation can be used most efficiently. Big charities could learn alot from this organisation.
Challenge Africa are an inspiring group of people who are working directly with the communities they are supporting. They listen to the needs of the people they are working with and do all they can to help them achieve their goals. Challenge Africa is a small nonprofit but they certainly punch above their weight with the amount of support they provide.
Challenge Africa is inspiring. When looking to make charitable donations, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start or to see how your donation helps in real terms. With Challenge Africa, the benefits are clear, direct and visible. By providing donations of school uniform, the schools have been formally recognised and the children are now able to benefit from official immunisation programs etc. Helping Challenge Africa in this way has been incredibly rewarding and we are already looking at how to help more.
A really wonderful charity that work within the community to help people help themselves. With all profits from my donation going to where there best used and needed I really feel like I'm giving back and helping out those in my world wide community. No one should be alone when it comes to poverty and basic health care needs and challenge Africa helps provide this and so much more.
Challenge Africa is the most inspiring charity. All UK staff are volunteers who work hard not only to raise funds and awareness, but also to ensure all of the funds raised go directly to the life-changing projects they run in Kenya. I have seen first hand the work which is done by the team in Kenya and met beneficiaries who's live have been changed. I have no doubt that all the money donated is being used efficiently and effectively, and i have no hesitations in donating both my time and my money to this wonderful charity.
Great charity that helps local communities learn valuable skills, develop methods and challenges the status quo that can help them flourish independently in the long run. Refreshing to hear local accounts of how direct initiatives have improved livelihoods and opportunities for the community (building a chicken farm and selling the produce at the local market being a good example!) Keep up the good work!
Challenge Africa invests in income generating businesses so the community can become self-supporting, resilient and able to care for their most vulnerable. In Practice, this means that the income of a poultry house help pay for classes for 40 children between the age of 2 to 6 that would otherwise would have no education, no food and would have to help their parents at work or at home.
We believe that income generating activities should be financed by loans (instead of donations) to achieve a higher sense of ownership. This allowed CA to invest in a permanent building for 300 chicken, that now are 1 year old. This is truly an achievement as few charities reach this stage. Some have even been coming all the way from Tanzania to learn from our success! We also won a government incentive for showing ‘great entrepreneurship’ allowing us to also produce chicken to sell for meat as a result.
you too support CA and it's entrepreneurial way of helping people!
Where else can you find a charity that dedicate absolutely ALL the money they collect only for the people they want to help?
For me, this is the proof the people behind the charity are really dedicated to help, are selfless when it comes to that, and that their only payment is to see the great work they have done.
I highly recommend you have a look at what they do. And if this is in accordance with your ethos, you can trust them with your heart and participate any way you can/want.
A wonderful charity that has managed to remain small and focused so I am certain that everything they raise is spent effectively.
Challenge Africa is a fantastic charity which helps people help themselves. I feel confident knowing that my donation will entirely reach those who really need it.
Challenge Africa don't just give help for the physical needs of people but they also give help so that people can help themselves and have dignity too.
Challenge Africa is one of the great unsung charities in the UK. With no fanfares or fuss they have been dramatically changing and improving the lives of children and adults in Africa for many years. The variety of initiatives and programs they've introduced, maintained and expanded upon is amazing. The fact that volunteers are constantly ready to offer their time and energy in Africa speaks volumes about the work that the charity does.
I gave Challenge Africa a manual sewing machine over 10 years ago, to help them teach teenage prostitutes how to sew and earn safe money to feed their siblings .... now the village not only has a school, a community centre but running water .... this is thanks to the vision of its founder Eleanor... who has no thought for herself and takes no money for herself - all our donations go to Africa. Please support Challenge Africa - all your money goes to the charity.
A fantastic charity who are unique in that 100% of funds go to those in need. They have already changed the lives of many vulnerable people.
I have volunteered for Challenge Africa in Kenya and in the UK. The team are always responsive and give you a personal experience. It's an amazing small charity run by volunteers, which has huge affects on the ground.
Challenge Africa supports the most vulnerable, often children and women, so they can help themselves. For example it helps grandparents so they can look after their orphaned grandchildren. It provides education and training for girls so they can earn a safe living. It shows children how to grow crops and look after the goat Challenge Africa has given them. It makes every pound raised count and makes a real difference. Keep up the wonderful work.
