Mission: The mission of the chalfonte foundation is to provide spiritual, psycho-social, recreational, financial and educational support for children, youth and other individuals and families in need.
Programs: The foundation provides grants to small organizations committed to positive social change. The foundation also provides a week long summer camp for adolescent and younger teen girls; young women's weekend, a summer camp for older teen girls; boys camp, summer camp for adolescent and teen boys; moms & munchkins, a weekend retreat for moms and their kids that gives moms a chance to unwind while staff takes care of their little ones; women's weekend, a weekend retreat for women who have faced serious medical issues or loss; moms weekend and dads weekend, separate retreats for fathers and mothers who've experienced the death of a child. Activities in detroit include educational movie nights, activities around major events such as the detroit thanksgiving day parade; visits to cultural institutions such as the detroit institute of arts, the detroit symphony, the african american museum and more.
