Mission: Cmka provides direct assistance through cash, checks, loans, gift cards, gasoline vouchers and food vouchers for medically-related emergency needs to individuals who require dialysis and transplant for survival in central missouri. It also provides certain medical equipment and nutritional supplements to dialysis and transplant patients. All assistance requests come from social workers at dialysis and transplant facilities.
Programs: Provided lodging and gasoline assistance to 14 patients who trained for self-care dialysis. Provided interest-free loans to 7 patients. Provided utility assistance to 18 patients. Provided rent assistance to 9 patients. Provided direct financial assistance to 4 pre-dialysis patients, 63 in-center hemodialysis patients, to 18 home dialysis patients and to 13 transplant patients for a total of 98 patients. Provided several types of medical equipment to patients including 34 medical alerts and 2 blood pressure sets. Provided other types of medical equipment. Provided nutritional protein supplement products to dialysis patients. Provided gasoline vouchers to 8 incenter dialysis patients. Provided food gift cards to 1 patient and walmart gift cards to 3 dialysis patients. Organized fundraising activities. Held 3 board meetings.
