Programs: The long-standing mission of ccas is to help preserve the central coast's aquatic habitats through innovative educational programs that bring marine life encounters to the general public. Ccas operates a traveling marine exhibit, known as "tidepool treasures" and an interpretive outreach program known as "tidepool outreach". Most recently, ccas has been working with california polytechnic state university and the city of pismo beach in establishing a research program to determine the reasons of the demise of the pismo clam (tivela stultorum) and developing a maricultute process for propagation of the species.
