The staff is under trained and often uncaring; and I would suspect underpaid... my belongings were lost in there storage area... and no one on staff even apologized...you can stand at the desk for hours and never get recognized by staff, and you are constantly threatened with the loss of your bed
A pregnant woman was sent to the street for being five minutes late... don't you have to be human to work in human services?????
One staff member confiscated food from a resident and ate it in her face...
There was blood on the floor for two days...when brought to the attention of the custodian on duty... he only shrugged his shoulders
for two days there was a virtual river of water in the bathroom(filthy nasty water) and one staff member responded... oh well, life in the shelter...
Although there are some caring and concerned staff and security...they are few!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How could I put into words my gratitude for all the CASS and Human Services Campus has done for me. I was in error told that I had been
dropped by the system and left to the streets.
CASS (with the support of Human Services Campus) took me under their wing. I say this exactly this way because they do not just take you in they show true love and compassion. I was one of the difficult cases, to say the least. There were those on staff who not only protected me, but fought for me when I did not know how to breakout of my cycle of woundedness.
I have seen with my own eyes repeated love and compassion shown to the most difficult cases. Not catering, but genuine concern and regard.
A navigator listened to my roadblocks and guided me through the steps necessary to correct the errors.Without his help, I would have been lost in the shuffle by the system. He has made a major impact on my life by showing and demonstrating his belief in me.
I watch employees start their day at 7:00 am and not leave until long after I have gone to sleep at night. These same employees I have observed showing love and compassion time and time again in difficult situations (with a firm hand when necessary).
The Engagement Specialist graciously took the time out of his day at Project Homeless Connect to drive me to an appointment. I observed
the demands on his day to be great and yet he never showed anything
but humble, caring service. I was in awe AGAIN.
I remember from my difficult days these people tried to break through with love and protection.
I can not possibly mention everyone who has gone above and beyond in their demonstration of caring but this campus is filled with dedicated servants.
I realize not all of the people who come to CASS make choices that
are good for the shelter, yet with a firm hand of love and caring, these
dedicated people try to break through, when possible.
This is just a small taste of what I have seen here.
You may call my voice mail if you would like to find out more about
them (623) 207-1579.
