Programs: Exempt purpose achievements:facts on tap provides materials for alcohol prevention and education programs on more than 900 college campuses, including resources specifically targeting parents. Collaborations, a multi-pronged training initiative to strengthen relationships between drug treatment and related services, such as child protective services, family court and mental health services. The ties that bind, provides materials and an interactive web site to help caregivers better understand substance abuse, communicate age-appropriate information to children, get support services, and manage the dual challenges of an addicted parent and kinship care giving. Building bridges is an effort to help parents in residential drug treatment programs cope with the realities of separation and visitation with their children, and prepare for the possibility of reunification after treatment and graduation. The program tested in several residential programs is the first structured effort to deal with these issues throughout the treatment process. Family link, a national survey to identify and catalogue the many services being provided in long-term residential drug treatment programs, will eventually be reviewed by experts in the field and culminate in new program protocols that broaden and strengthen services to clients'families by including them in the treatment and recovery process.
