Mission: Year-round offerings: • Family Engagement and Community Engagement are two year-round programs dedicated to working with students, families, community members, and partner agencies to provide the knowledge, tools, and resources that individuals and families need to thrive. Through these programs, our experienced and passionate staff provides family strengthening initiatives, crisis support, advocacy efforts, wellness workshops, and referrals. School-year offerings: • Fusion is COL’s after-school recreation, homework, and enrichment program for students in grades K-8. • ALTA is designed to encourage teen students (grades 9-12) to foster and develop their leadership skills in preparation for the next chapter in their lives. Students are compensated for their participation. • The KRUNK Movement (KRUNK) is a high school student-led production program that focuses on the elements of hip-hop through songwriting, production, visual art, and technology to communicate positive messages to the community. Students perform their work and also receive compensation. • COL Jazz is an instrumental coaching program that encourages young musicians to explore self-expression using the language of jazz. Students perform their work and also receive compensation. Summer offerings: • Camp Hazelwood is the all-day summer camp expansion of Fusion. • ALTA continues through the summer with leadership skill development for teen students, who also become junior camp counselors for Camp Hazelwood. • KRUNK and COL Jazz offer summer camps that closely mirror their school-year programs, with the added focus on preparing for and hosting the annual Summer Concert Series, which features free-to-attend concerts throughout the community. • COL Basketball League is open to all individuals between the ages of 6 and 17.
