Mission: Since 1989, Center for Women's Business Research, founded as the National Foundation for Women Business Owners,has provided original, groundbreaking research to document the economic and social contributions of women-owned firms; consulting and public relations services to maximize the benefits of this knowledge; and leadership development for women who own growing enterprises.
Programs: Center for Women's Business Research's primary program focus is conducting research to document the economic and social contributions of women business owners and their enterprises. The Center also advises corporations, policy makers, and educational institutions on interpreting and using Center information to better understand, communicate with and support women entrepreneur's. In addition, the Center offers leadership development for women who own growing businesses.
RESEARCH:
Center for Women's Business Research has conducted and published over two dozen studies in the past decade, covering such diverse topics as women's motivations for entrepreneurship; management styles; capital, credit, and financing; technology use; retirement planning and employee benefits; and challenges of growth. In addition to its U.S.-based research, the Center has conducted studies in a number of countries outside the United States.
CONSULTING:
To help others better understand the meaning of trends in women's entrepreneurship and how they can become market opportunities, Center for Women's Business Research advises organizations in communications and marketing/sales strategy development and implementation.
