Mission: The center for women & enterprise empowers women to be economically self-sufficient and to prosper through business and entrepreneurship.
Results: In Massachusetts and Rhode Island since 1995 CWE has: - Trained over 19,779 women (and men) - Helped entrepreneurs create over 20,994 new jobs - Generated more than $628 million in wages - Secured more than $33 million for clients in business loans - Certified more than 638 women-owned businesses - Provided legal counsel to more than 1,279 individuals
Target demographics: Over 35% of our clients are low income, 30% are single mothers, 30% are minorities and 25% are unemployed.

Programs: Education, training, consulting and technical assistanceworkshops, seminars, multi week courses, one-on-one consulting are included in the comprehensive programs and services provided for entrepreneurs and business people in massachusetts and rhode island. Classes and workshops include financial literacy, business plan creation, financing options, visioning and other current topics designed to strengthen women owned businesses. Classes are open to all, with financial assistance available to those in need.
certification: cwe is the regional provider of the national women's business enterprise national council certification for women owned businesses. The intention of the certification is for women owned business to gain strategic advantage with larger corporations and their supplier diversity initiatives.
