Mission: The center for transforming lives is focused on transforming the lives of women, children, and their families from poverty to independence through housing stability, high-quality affordable child care, and financial empowerment services.
Programs: Child and family development centers - the center prepares children from birth to age 5 from low-income families for success in kindergarten with intensive early education. The parents benefit from individualized financial education and coaching (financial empowerment services) and support from a child and family advocate. The center believes that dual generation anti-poverty intervention is the most effective way to create economic mobility moving women and their children out of poverty. The center is the only child care provider in tarrant county for children between birth and age 5 who are homeless. 27% of the 700+ children cared for by the center are children from homeless families. If children are in care their mothers can work and get out of homelessness.
housing services - housing programs include emergency shelter for women, community based housing supports (rent payment assistance, case management, employment assistance and other supportive services) for women and families. All housing progams are designed to move women and families from crisis and poverty to thier highest levels of independent living.
financial empowerment - this program includes a range of services designed to educate regarding financial management skills and build individual financial assets. Free financial education classes provide training on the core competencies of money management. Individual assessment and coaching provided by a financial coach builds improved knowledge, skills and habits. Incentive programming, such as matched savings, support the building of financial assets.
