I quickly want to say, I've been to 3 other community colleges and cet is such a great technology/trade school with skilled patient teachers who care. I went to cet for the early childhood education program with Mrs. Earnestine Howard the best teacher ever!!! I was president of student council and graduated with honors in 8 months, continued my education to become a preschool teacher, was offered a position at a very prestigious private schooln in saratoga and have had a great career for the past 10 years. Ive also started my own bussiness as a children's face painter and I'm always booked due to me being a teacher and word of mouth from parents! CET Teachers and staff really take their time to make sure you get what you need and care about your succes. They still keep in touch with me from time to time to this day!

She really taught us everything we needed to be prepared for the work force. Technology was the main part of this program. Almost 5 years later, she was right, technology is advancing especially in the legal field, I was well prepared for this!.
I am currently a Legal Assistant/Office Manager in a law firm. By being consistent and going to all job interviews scheduled by Industrial Relations, I accepted this position starting at 15 and hour, now making 19.
Great Tip: Always attend your job interviews that are scheduled by your job developer, you never know what opportunities they will have for you unless you go!!

I went to Cet In Gilroy Straight Out Of High School i slacked off. Bit here Nd there jokes around with the boys.. But profe always had faith in me and i joined the union 9144 drywall lath with california drywall for 3 years from laborer to apprentice.. Now im at a diffrent company as a lead 5th per apprentice bring home 1400 a week i love what i do i pay my own apartment drive. A commuter and a nice benz only 23 and i would never forget cet... Eveyone thought i would fail.. But i ended towards top class i have a 2 year old daughter beautiful woman.. And i probide for my whole family... It suks waking up sum stuffs hard.. Traffic ..but working with grown men you better act like one wanna ne a foreman act like one.. I can frame rooms dooors walls i know o will be someone a boss and a cool one... I grew up in the struggle in the hood.. Now im al about work and my family thats what matters your friends will always be there... Profe with out your faith in me... CET is a place where dreams come true, where realities are exposed and where futures are built.
Once I stepped inside, I got help right away. No hesitation. And since that day, everything has been for the best. I am currently enrolled in the Business Administration Technology program, (which soon will be changed to Administration), I have an outstanding instructor, who helped not only to realized my limits and get out of my comfort zone, but who also believes in me and what I am capable of, and as human beings we need that, we need to start helping and appreciating each other so we can all shine together, and that is exactly what CET does for the community.
I have big, huge dreams and CET is only the beginning. CET has inspired me to continue my education. For the moment, I am looking for a job in the legal area, who knows, maybe I can become a lawyer one day, but what I know is that the mind set I have is thanks to CET and all that it offers.

It is place, for some, that make dreams come true. Some people come through the doors lost and looking for purpose. CET helps educate them and send them on their way with a new beginning and outlook on life. CET not only educates and motives students in particular skills, it continues to be a source of help after graduation.
Thanks to CET my friend who has jumped from school to school, training after training, she is now motivated to work everyday. She has been working full time and recently celebrated her first anniversary. She is always talking about how her employer appreciates her work. she looks forward to doing a good job and continue to learn new roles and responsibilities.
I took the Electricians course, and I have to say it was the best decision I made for my future.
coming from a poor background CET made my dreams reachable again by helping students like my self. The staff was awesome always there when I needed them the most, financially they helped me stay fed and made it so my school loan is not a stressful thing. Now I am making six figures and enjoying life.. I highly Recommend CET to anyone who wants to reach their dreams and goals with having to mortgage your future..

Center for Employment Training changed my life. In 2014 I was a student, and became president of Student Council. I graduated from Business Office Technology, 3 months after i walked the stage i got hired at CET. I just want to say that CET is a wonderful place.It is where my life journey to success stared. I am the fourth in my family to graduated from CET. I am so proud of what i have accomplished it only makes me work harder.

I have truly enjoyed my time here at CET as an intern. The faculty and instructors care deeply about their students and effectively education to them. It has been a pleasure to meet students first hand, hear their stories, and also know that those who work here act as educators, life coaches, and inspiration to the students. CET does it's best to bring success to students and carry them through their educational journey from start to finish.
Why CET? CET Colton, as well as other CET locations, provides every effort to serving students and ensuring the mission and core values are honored. CET Colton is community, where we provide training and human development. As an instructor, I am a mentor, guidance counselor, advisor, confidant, cheerleader, and at times, a life coach. We have a supportive faculty with instructors and support staff to ensure students are ready upon completing their training to start their new career.
CET has been my home for close to 6 years now and I've worked with at least 500 students. Our students come from every walk of life, differences in gender, age, socioeconomic statuses, cultures, parolees, high school drop outs, Baby Boomers, and more. There has been so many success stories with small and gigantic celebrations. I'm thankful to be part of a nonprofit where I can demonstrate my talents and help others. As a philanthropist, I have worked for and continue to volunteer with quite a few non profits.
My favorite event of the year is always graduation. We fund-raise for most of the year to host the event in the summer. For the past several years, I have served at the coordinator of the event. It's sooooo much work but it's worth it. I love seeing our graduates in their cap and gowns and the smiles from the graduates, their friends, and families. It's an emotional time for me as well as them. Our graduates walk proudly along to the Pomp and Circumstance song as we all applaud them for dedication and hard work. I get to see graduates' kids holding poster board signs to congratulate their parents. It's awesome! For some of students, this will be their first time they will participate in a ceremony. While for some students, this is the first real accomplishment in their adulthood. As they walk on stage and their names are called, you can see the joy and satisfaction on their faces. This moment is priceless.
CET is not just a non profit or a training center, we are a community.
I am an instructor at the Center for Employment Training and a graduate of the school as well. I was given two choices of schools to attend by the Workforce Investment Act; one was a community college, with the other being CET. Being new to the area and in the middle the adoption of a newborn girl, I needed flexibility and a central location. I toured the college and was met with the same hum drum attitude of staff and instructors. When I toured CET, I was overwhelmed by not just the positive attitude of the staff, but the overall vibe from the school, to include the students. The staff had all of the answers to my questions, their interest in me and my success is what helped me decide to attend the school.
As a student, I never felt out of place and assistance was close by at all times. I was recognized for my maturity and given responsibilities as a student, which empowered me to do even better.
As an instructor, I settled into the position with ease. As a former member of the military , it was second nature to gather the men of women from all walks of life, help find a common bond, and to foster a team environment where learning a new trade was number one, and help those around you at the same time.
The type of individuals I've instructed run the gamut, from farmworkers to former professionals, former gang members and parolees, to young adults learning a new trade.
All of this is possible due to not just myself, but my fellow staff and administration. The positive, can-do attitude, and keeping the mission of CET in mind is what is helping shape these people's lives.
The Center for Employment Training is an integral part in liberating workers out of the fields, keeping parolees out of prison and on a positive path, and getting the new millenials off the couch and into a well paying, secure trade of their choice.
I am not exaggerating when I say that I love CET for what it is, what it does, and what it stands for.
I have enjoyed every bit of my time since becoming an instructor at Durham NC CET. I work directly with a wonderful director. She is encouraging but has a switch when its time to get business taken care of. The other staff is great, polite, and warming. But most importantly the students I have gotten a chance to be with are amazing individuals and I can't wait to see what their future holds.
My brother asked me if I can help him get a trade, of course I didn't hesitate to tell him to go to CET in San Jose. He immediately applied out of trusting his big sis and he did fantastic! He's now working in San Diego, YES San Diego. Well a little love story I have to share, my brother partied hard, always kicking it with the dudes kind of guy. One day while in San Diego they all went to an evening event in San Diego at a cemetery and he met a beautiful career driven young lady, yes this is where he fell in love, at the cemetery. Following this interesting hook up, it is when it all came together that he needed to focus on something more concrete while knowing he wasn't going to break his pockets doing so. This is why he chose to go to school, and he did so at CET in San Jose. Now years later, his love who he met at the cemetery and who are now super love birds got married in San Diego are living together and are doing well in their careers. A shout out to them love birds who do the possible to survive and get ahead! Peace and Love :)
