I was lucky enough to connect again with the Center for Domestic Peace a couple of years ago. I'm both proud and honored to be a board member for this wonderful organization that supports so many both within and outside of our community.
15 years is a long time to be involved with such a great organization, that is how long I have been volunteering for MAWS, now Center for Domestic Peace. I came to MAWS 18 years ago as a victim of Domestic Violence, and though I never used shelter, the hotline and support groups at that time was my "light from the darkness". I am so thankful that I get to help women and children get into safe places, advocate to them and for them. be a voice that can help heal the soul. Thank you for such a amazing group of people, volunteers, that hopefully together we can end the violence....
This is the most amazing organization to volunteer for. The resources that are offered to the support group facilitators are so helpful. I've been a faciltator for more than 18 years and know that with the knowledge that I have as a volunteer that I have been able to help many women become stronger, more empowered and confident that there is life after domestic violence for them and their childeren. Thank goodness we have organizations like Marin Abused Women's Services and hopefully one day we can end the violence for good. Thank you to the most amazing staff of women and volunteers, and honor to work for them. Ellen, Novato,CA
