Mission: The CCLE is a nonprofit law, policy, and public education center working to advance and protect freedom of thought at a time when drugs and other cognitive technologies hold both enormous promise and peril for individual and collective freedom. The CCLE maintains that the right of a person to liberty and privacy over his or her own intellect is situated at the core of what it means to be a free person and is a fundamental human right. The CCLE works in the courts, with policy makers, industry and other nongovernmental organizations, to advance legal, social and ethical policies that protect human freedom, dignity, and self-determination.
