Cello Bello is a wonderful community full or resources, and ongoing inspiration for cellists of all levels, and backgrounds. I have found it incredibly support in my ongoing professional development as a musician.
I have been aware of CelloBello for many years, and have watched it grow by leaps and bounds ever since. It is becoming a unique, major central repository for all things cello related. There are educational videos on basic instruction, more advanced "cello chats" with well known performers , and historical information, as well as programming for children, cello teachers, and students preparing for auditions.
As an adult student of the cello, I am very much looking forward to programming geared to that audience. Soon to come will be content directed toward cellists involved in playing chamber music.
And all, save for the courses, are available free online to whomever, wherever they might be, democratizing cello pedagogy.
CelloBello is creating a worldwide community for all cellists. Music has always been central to the human condition, and that has never been as true as it is today. All of this makes supporting Cello
Bello very worthwhile.
Kudos to Paul Katz!
Cellobello has been an amazing resource for myself as cello mom helping my young son learn. I quickly became hooked as I listened and watched so many masters share the secrets of their craft with such a kind and generous spirit. That’s what comes across the most - the spirit of generosity. What they have done for cello playing is unlike anything I have ever seen. There is no free resource like it that I have found for any other instrument. Cellobello provided the answer to that early interest which really just fertilized and allowed that beginning enthusiasm for the cello to blossom. Learning an instrument is a bit of a delicate journey - the beginning is particularly precarious. Having a resource where very advanced players talk about everything from struggling with intonation to bow holds is extremely motivating. Hearing about practice struggles is also so helpful. It’s likely you will never know the extent of your legacy. But I can say for certain, Cellobello played a crucial role in my son’s journey as a musician. And he’s only 11! But boy is he on fire! Thank you.
CelloBello is an incredible resource for cellists all over the world! The CelloChats, program offerings, and amazing access to the world's leading cellists and pedagogues is simply amazing!!! I'm so thankful to be part of the CelloBello family!
Cellobello has a vast number of very useful articles, provides masterclasses, and provides resources and lessons for all levels of cello. They also have Cello Kids where ideas are explored. I encourage my students to participate in these 'lessons'. Cellobello is my go to resource. I have recommended the resource to friends. I use the lessons from Cello Kids and from the videos to improve my own playing.
This is a sui generis resource; the largest single repository of information and pedagoty relating to the cello on the internet. I've referred all my students to it.
There are very few organizations like this that work to share high quality educational material about all things cello for free. They have produced so many educational videos featuring professional cellists that are very helpful for anyone who wants to actually make progress in playing this wonderful instrument. Provides much needed resources for adult learners, young beginners but also offers new insights for advanced players. Highly recommended.
As the father of an amazing young cellist, Cellobello has been a great organization to support. Cellobello provides fantastic support and opportunities for the cello community. Through it's leadership, it shines the light on the talented musicians who perform and young cellists who are learning to grow their skills. Thank you!
I've been a CelloBello fan for a long time. Great masterclasses and resources. But I have special appreciation at the moment. I broke my left wrist earlier this year, and when the cast comes off, I will be embarking on a long, long road to recovery. CelloBello has exactly the advice I need: how to play without tension in the left hand, how to avoid squeezing with the thumb, etc. Invaluable. And not available anywhere else, to my knowledge.
Having followed Cellobello for quite some time, I was greatly impressed this year by their reworking of their website and the quality of their offerings. The information they make available is extremely useful to me as an amateur cellist and I continue to find helpful data to help me improve.
Cellobello is doing amazing things within our classical (and surrounding!) community — their impact has reached thousands of folks from around the world
Gather cellists together, and there is a party going on! Cellobello's goal to join everything cello in one convenient place is pure magic! It is one stop to research music, people, teaching, performance, and trends. The resources are rich to answer questions on all levels of inquiry. Bravo to Cellobello---and thank you.
I recently taught two classes for this year’s CelloBello Teacher Trainer Seminar, as well as attended and viewed some of the other sessions and I was so thoroughly impressed! The depth of knowledge, insights, questions, and conversations surrounding the experience this year was first class and Paul Katz led a brilliant opening/closing session as well which I was fortunate to attend. I highly recommend CelloBello not as an organization, but a phenomenal network of spectacular musicians and teachers across the world!
CelloBello is the most comprehensive online resource available to cellists and musicians the world over, constantly innovating and finding ways to uphold their commitment to reach and engage all types of players--regardless of location and skill level--with the highest quality of instruction and materials. There is so much to learn, from such a variety of viewpoints, both past and present, that one can easily spend many hours perusing their website. CelloBello has continued to stay relevant during these changing times, and it has been a joy to watch its growth over years, and to be a small part of it as well!
CelloBello has been a great source of information and community to me. Even as a professional cellist, I continue to come to CelloBello for inspiration and to learn from other colleagues. CelloBello is also one of those platforms that I share with my students and they find it very informative and inspiring. Thank you to the whole CelloBello team for the wonderful work that you do!
I attended the 2023 Teacher Training Seminar. Even though I am not a teacher, from looking at the programming on the website, I knew attending this workshop would benefit my cello playing. I felt very welcome with the group and was so impressed with all the great questions and conversations during the sessions. The sessions were very informal and we were encouraged to unmute ourselves to ask questions or simply use the chat. The facilitator, Elizabeth, for the sessions was fabulous and kept the programming running smoothly. It was a great opportunity during the sessions to be listening and interacting with some of the greats in cello playing. I highly recommend this workshop and look forward to next year!
I have taken either the entire course or separate classes in CelloBello’s teacher training seminar the past 4 years. The presenters are always top notch, and excited to engage with students! So many great ideas and cello support have come from them.
I recently taught at CelloBello's Teacher Training Seminar. It was absolutely wonderful. The students were attentive and interesting. The CelloBello Administrators were incredibly supportive, welcoming, and kind. I've used the online content from CelloBello for years, but this was my first "hands-on" experience. It was absolutely wonderful and I was honored to be a part of it.
My son had such great fun making music during the classes of Cello Bello. The professors are wonderful, engaging and experienced.
We are so grateful for this experience.
My kid enjoys the Cellokid lessons with the amazing teachers! They are professional and very patient—lots of inspiration from the class.
Thanks to Cello bello team for the virtual classes to our children. They were very happy and had fun with all the activities. In fact, they still practice the exercises on the cello repertory enjoying their practice.
Cello Bello provides incredibly active and engaging lessons for all students. Their model not only makes music accessible to young learners irrespective of location, socioeconomic status or race, but from what I’ve seen, their methodology is ideal for neurodiverse learners as well. While classes are offered online, they are not by any means your run of the mill online class. Lessons are multimodal - creating opportunities children to learn and synthesize information auditorily, visually, kinesthetically and through independent writing/drawing. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable both in respect to their craft, as well as in respect to their understandings around how to teach for deep learning while navigating the unique needs of younger learners.
I didn’t grow up with music, really, but I’m of the firm belief that music isn’t and shouldn’t be an extracurricular activity. Music is central to our holistic growth as human beings, and the earlier it’s introduction, the more powerful and wide-reaching its positive impact on our development and lived experiences. My five year old is twice exceptional and by no means “easy”. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to attending other classes should the opportunity arise. I’m very grateful that their cello teacher recommended trying a class with Cello Bello out. The Cello Bello team is really doing life changing work for the greater good.
Thank you so much cellobello!!! my seven-year-old son Angel attended the cello kids workshop, it was very enriching. We are from Guatemala and there are very few workshops for our young children. As a mother and cello teacher, I encourage you to continue doing this type of workshop, to continue promoting the new generations of cellists.
CelloBello is doing wonderful work extending the reach of good pedagogy to wider and more diverse communities. I am a music teacher in an underserved, rural Alabama town. CelloBello is a key resource for my students at any level to feel inspired, to discover technical solutions, to be exposed to the best playing, and to feel welcomed into an artistic community that spans the globe.
Cellobello is an important organization for collecting, disseminating and promoting historical and new information about cello performance and cello teaching. As a lifetime performer and teacher, I find the Cellobello programs invaluable for myself and for my students as well. Highly recommend.
CelloBello is the world's leading resource for all things pertaining to the cello. In terms of the quality, organization, and breadth of its offerings, it has no peer. It's been a pleasure for me to be involved for many years with this organization, including currently serving on its Board of Directors.

CelloBello Is the leading international online resource for all things pertaining to the cello. The site has appropriate material for musicians of all ages and levels, and the quality of the content is uniformly high. I spend time on the site frequently myself and also refer colleagues and students to it constantly. I can't say enough about how useful it is for everyone in the international cello playing community!
Can't say enough good things about CelloBello! The responders on the website run deep: recorded masterclasses with true masters; online classes for kids; online teacher training; interviews with a wife variety of cellists; and much, much more. Paul Katz has put together a team of incredible humans to run the organization, and they are doing a fine job.
I attended the 2022 CelloBello TTS(teacher training seminar)- it was fantastic! Thank you so much everybody- I really learnt so much and was able to connect with faboulous people and cellists!
CelloBello provides the most comprehensive online resources for every type of Cellist. I don’t think there is a professional cellist, student cellist or cello teacher who has not benefited from the excellent opportunities to learn more about mastering this difficult musical instrument. I’m so grateful for all the knowledge and inspiration I have received, particularly from the CelloChats, where a highly skilled professional Cellist offers his expertise in a live video format where anyone can ask questions and have the answers demonstrated. The extensive website is the go to for every cellist whenever they have a question. I hope The online courses will continue to grow and provide cutting edge intensive tuition through dedicated Master teachers.
Cellobello is a brilliant organization. The staff and contributors are dedicated and inspiring, and the wider cello community benefits greatly from the resources made available through their hard work.
This is a fantastic organization that provides free educational and community-building resources for student and professional cellists.
I’ve been connected with CelloBello as a learner and professional cellist since my undergraduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University around 2010, right from their beginnings.
It has transformed itself from a highly organized collection of professional development oriented materials for musicians, educators and cellists in particular to a deep, complex, and compelling cello community.
CelloBello has created the space for and fostered such a community on both a local and international scale. I truly appreciate their work. It motivates, engages, and inspires me as a cellist, teacher, and human, while being a fabulous resource to point to for students, families, and colleagues.
I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences with CelloBello thus far. I can’t wait to see how much further the community expands and I look forward greatly to those valuable connections and conversations with fellow cellists, arts administrators, and educators.
Cellobello has made a wonderful contribution to the education of cellists at all levels!!
It is also marvelous that it is available to students and professionals who may be resource deprived!!
Bravo to Paul Katz, the Founder and Artistic Director of Cellobello, and to all of the other internationally renowned professional cellists and teachers who donate their time and expertise to Cellobello!!
Cello Bello represents the very best in arts education and accessibility. They connect the young and gifted with the resources to fan their gifts into passionate, lifelong music making. This site truly does democratize the instrument and classical music in general.
As a finance professional and an active donor, I choose very carefully where my charitable contributions are directed. I'm interested in the professionalism and dedication of staff, the organization's mission and how well it's carried out, access by lower income families to the services provided and the financial sustainability of the organization. Cellobello gets 4 out of 4. I love how they've reacted to the past year of COVID in providing their services (and even expanding them) to a virtual population. Cellobello also provides a number of programs that are revenue producing, and I value the fact that the organization is not completely dependent on giving. Cellobello is a model for other arts based organizations. Love it!
Cellobello is an extraordinary site, which brings cellists of all abilities from all over the world together to share knowledge, artistry and love for this beautiful instrument. The lessons, master classes, interviews, blogs and all cello information is available to anyone for free.
CelloBello provides something wonderful for cellists of every age and level of ability. What a resource...we just love it!"
My son began taking cello lessons when he was four years old, and within a short period of time cello became an integral part of his life. We have early pictures of him hugging his fractional cello the way many kids hug a beloved stuffed animal (albeit, not quite as hard). As his interest expanded and he searched for new sources of inspiration, he came across a site called CelloBello one day. He told us that when he looked through it, his experience was nothing short of revelatory. It was as if a window into the world of cello had been opened for my son. As he grew older and more experienced, he was able to more fully appreciate different aspect of the online community created by the founder of CelloBello, Paul Katz. My son would look forward to scheduled CelloChats the way other kids look forward to Red Sox games. The online lessons by Mr. Katz and so many other outstanding cellist were foundational for the development of my son as a cellist, and for his growing general love of music.
I can say without reservation that CelloBello is one of the great creations in the world of music, making available resources both for youths and adults. Wherever someone may live, and whatever their financial circumstances may be, they can still be part of this vibrant, inclusive community of artists. Bravo Mr. Katz and the entire team of people at CelloBello who had contributed to the creation of this wonderful institution.
I absolutely love CelloBello! They have quality educational Cello teaching/music playing videos for free! You can enjoy them and learn from them if you are an amateur, student, professional musician or just an avid listener of classical music. What I like most about it is the quality of their content and how much I have learned from their master classes with some of the best musicians living today in the world! Even as a professional cellist, I can still learn so much from all of their free and available content! I’ve seen videos on cello technique, phrasing, tips, solo performances, concertos and so much more! With out this platform, I’d have no way of receiving all this quality information from some of the best cellist in the world! I am truly grateful for this amazing platform and I support them completely with all future endeavors. Best of luck!
CelloBello offers a tremendous set of resources for cellists of all levels and ages, and is always adding new features and content that enrich and inspire a global cello community. Many talk about artistic excellence, but Paul Katz and his team at CelloBello embody it.
Cellobello does wonderful work; Paul Katz is inspiring, competent, warm-hearted and a fantastic pedagogue. This site/channel definitely deserves to be more widely known amongst cellists. It is very well organized and currently hosts 250 videos of various educating content. I am always looking forward to seeing new inspiring videos!
