Mission: Catholic charities, diocese of trenton opened a u. S. Department of health and human services funded certified community behavioral health clinic (ccbhc) to expand community-based, holistic addiction and mental health services to people whose complex needs have historically left them out of the system. Catholic charities' ccbhc - one of just seven approved statewide- serves as a federal demonstration site for hhs' plans to adopt this integrative model of care more widely.
Programs: Behavioral health services (bhs) - behavioral health's operating programs in the agency's four counties provided the following in 2017: 5,000 hours of pre- and post-employment related services provided to people with mental illness who also faced significant life challenges. 321 individuals with a serious mental illness including those with co-occurring substance abuse and medical disorders were assisted to secure or retain independent living in their own permanent housing.
children and family services (cfs) - the family growth program in monmouth continues to serve as that county's lead provider of trauma-specific services to help children and families heal from the effects of violence and abuse. The implementation of evidence-based treatments continues to yield significant positive outcomes. 905 families received crisis intervention and stabalization services. 2,467 individuals received esl, mentoring and other services through el centro, a program trusted by the most vulnerable residents in greater trenton's latino community to help with citizenship, naturalization and family strengthening.
community services (cs) - community services' operating programs in the agency's four counties provided the following in 2017: 27,000 individuals received non-food essentials such as clothing, personal hygiene products, baby care products, appliances and furniture. 2,840 households received holiday food and gifts during the holidays. 600 individuals received legal assistance through immigration support services. 886 individuals were assisted in obtaining permanent housing. 2,681 households received rental/mortgage, utility, and/or security deposit assistance. 564 seniors were assisted with home repairs.
providence house domestic violence services (phdvs) - catholic charities' providence house domestic violence services programs in burlington and ocean counties provided the following in 2017: 353 victims and their children were provided shelter services. 3,840 callers to the hotline were assisted. 20,115 counseling hours were provided to individuals and their children impacted by domestic violence. 6,985 individuals received domestic violence education and/or training through staff presentations including 2,650 hours of therapy.
