This non-profit goes far pass expectations for the people they serve. Their clients and volunteers are made welcomed . I love volunteering there. It uplifts me to serve there. They are very well organized and meets every need for the community they serve. There is also programs for the children. they recieve donations from supporters local and regional who also believe this organization. Local churches and other organizations come to volunteer. My grandchildren love helping also. What a wonderful organization. They can be an example to other organizations . They will be impressed as well. They deserve to be covered by a local tv station for one of their events as well as the programs for the children. People need to know about this organization.
From it's inception Catherine's Family and Youth Services, Inc. (CFYS) has provided quality programming and services to the Baltimore community. Developing partnerships to build volunteer opportunities, providing direct educational and enrichment experiences to youth and ensuring support services for senior citizens have been just a few of the pillars of the organization.
CFYS continues to work on signature services of after school programming, youth summer camp, meal distribution for Thanksgiving and toy collection for families during Christmas. During COVID, CFYS stepped up and joined other non profits to provide daily meals, bread deliveries and face masks for those in need. Additionally the traditional summer camp moved to a virtual platform in order to continue providing support to the youth. Recently families also benefitted from a paint night and will soon experience a family movie night to help alleviate the stressors that many have been facing during this difficult time.
As a proud board member it has been an absolute pleasure to serve and work with the organization. I am confident that CFYS will continue to grow and be even more impactful in Baltimore.
I've been volunteering with this organization since the very beginning, and they have consistently and constantly given back at different levels, be it neighborhood cleanups, Thanksgiving food drives, Christmas gift drives, giving away food, helping needy families with specific needs (furniture, new baby, prom, hairstyles and cuts for kids), mentoring kids, feeding the needy, etc.. They are a awesome organization with great leadership and staff, driven by a awesome mission.
I see all of the great work they do for the community and all of the opportunities and experiences they provide for the children in the program. They make such a difference in the lives of so many and you can tell in just one visit to any of their events or activities. I never hesitate to donate as much as I can any chance I get. Money well spent.
Cfys is a great nonprofit to the community. I’ve seen them delivering fresh fruit and vegetables and bread to the senior citizens in the community and hot lunches to families in need too.I really love the virtual summer camp they had with the children. Very engaging and enjoyable for the children.I would highly recommend Cfys they are the Best.

Catherine's Family and Youth Services have done so much in the community for our youth and families. To see how the children faces light up when they come to the after school program. It's definitely a loving supportive place for them. I've seen how do many of them have opened up and trust Valarie and Shannon.I see how they grew over the year with grades and maturity. Without this program the youth would have no meal or snack to depend on after school. They all would just be hanging in the street with nothing today. CFYS has taken them on many field trips that they would probably never go to. Community and our youth is #1 for Cfys.
During Covid, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the great team at CFYS through a partnership with World Central Kitchen. EVERY day of the week they have been serving meals to communities in need.
Volunteering at Catherine’s Family and Youth Services for The Christmas giveaway is a all time tradition for me! Valerie is a long time friend and amazing leader in the community! Valerie is very passionate about helping the youth and their families! This place is definitely one of Baltimore’s best non profits hands down!!!

Organizations like Cathrines Family and Youth Services are the glue that keep our neighborhoods together. It’s true that it takes a village to raise a child—they have not only been part of that village, but they inspire others to join. Thank you for all you are doing to empower and uplift our City.
There are so many experiences I can share. I absolutely love Catherine's Family and Youth Services. I love their vision, energy, heart for the people in Baltimore, drive and determination.
As president of Parklane Neighborhood Association, Inc., I have had the pleasure of working with CFYS on several different community projects, such as their annual Thanksgiving Give-a-Way, where they feed hundreds of families. I've also partnered with them on our annual community outreach project. Currently, they are working to serve countless seniors who are homebiund because of COVID-19. They are also running an after school program at the same time, while they provide countless residents with on-going services like food, job assistance, youth mentoring and other social servives. Valarie seems to have boundless energy and amazing compassion. I also had the privilege to serve on the Board of Neighborhoods United along side Valarie Matthews and Shannon Morgan. Catherine's Family and Youth Services is a great non-profit. I wish there were non-profits like this one.
Valarie has been such a blessing to House of Diamondz. We have built neighborhood pantries and she fills them whenever possible with food for the community. We all appreciate you so much!!!
