Catch-A-Lift are relentless in their efforts to aid Veterans in a road to stength. Strength of character is really the goal, but they know that Veterans find that naturally through staying fit, healthy, and accountable to themselves. I lost 40 lbs in my first year with CAL. The sky has been the limit since because I just feel better overall: my mood, my outlook on each day, and my ability to do more than I could when I initially separated from service. I just felt aimless and turned to the wrong habits. That accountability to myself changed everything. It started because Catch-A-Lift asked me to work each week towards small improvement. It has definitely worked. Thank you, Lynn and all of CAL HQ and Coaches. -MH
CAL and Coach Baca helped re-focus my fitness and nutrition goals and have helped ignite my motivation. Their equipment and coaching have guided my recovery post surgery and helped me implement and mobility/stretching program aimed at keeping me from future injuries.
I would highly recommend this organization and Coach to any eligible service member.
Have been in the wellness program since September 2021. I have had the opportunity to receive a grant that has helped me on my fitness journey one that I can still maintain to this day. The coaching to the landing zone lives are such great resources and tools for the veteran athletes

Catch a Lift Fund is a remarkable organization dedicated to transforming the lives of veterans by promoting mental health through community engagement and fitness. Their innovative programs provide veterans with gym memberships, personal training, and a supportive network that fosters camaraderie and resilience. By focusing on physical well-being, Catch a Lift not only helps veterans rebuild their bodies but also encourages them to connect with others who share similar experiences. The impact is profound, as participants often report improved mental clarity, reduced anxiety, and a renewed sense of purpose. Catch a Lift Fund is more than just a fitness initiative; it's a lifeline for many veterans, paving the way for healing and hope in their post-service lives.
After a rough fitness year in 2023, I reached out to Catch A Lift Fund in spring of 2024. The application process was straight forward, and I received an email within 24 hours to complete the intake process. After consulting with one of the intake coaches I was enrolled into the wellness program and assigned coach Aaron Baca. During my eight-week program, Coach Baca was very helpful and supportive of my fitness goals. I also interacted through the social platform called Vet Connect where coaches and participants post fitness articles, videos, recipes and more fitness related content. The Strengthlete app also came in handy when reviewing proper lifting techniques as well as different workout programs so as not to become stagnant.
Because I have been able to improve my physical fitness, my mental health has also drastically improved. What I really like about this organization is that it is not a one and done program. Once you complete the initial program you can continue to interact and find other ways to be active in it. They encourage you to commit to a lifetime of fitness and are there along for the ride. I cannot recommend this organization enough to veterans wishing to improve their fitness or finding other activities to continue their fitness journey.
Amazing organization. Truly changed my life. It’s an honor to be a part of the CAL family. I’m glad I found it.
Fitness has always been an outlet for my overall health and wellbeing and when I was able to participate in CAL's eight week program, with all their resources I was then able to take my health and fitness one step further. I am grateful for what all CAL provides to the Veteran community and excited what CAL will continue to do in the future
Catch a Lift has given me the mental and physical strength to be a better husband, friend, and community leader. From the top down, I have always been treated with respect and dignity, regardless of my gender, race, or disabilities. I truly wish there were more organizations like CAL. I will be forever in their debt.
Catch A Lift saved my life! 5 years ago, after being medically retired from the military, I was in the dark place with dark thoughts. Catch A Lift gave me the motivation, accountability, and support to get back to once again to physical fitness. They have been instrumental of my recovery and discovering myself again. My family and I are grateful for Catch A Lift's non stop support.
The opportunities that Catch-A-Lift Fund provides to veterans are not only the most organic but also deeply transformative. This organization goes beyond merely offering support; it creates a holistic environment where veterans can reclaim their health and vitality. By focusing on wellness, fitness, and overall well-being, Catch-A-Lift Fund empowers veterans to rebuild their lives in a way that feels natural and sustainable.
The personalized approach ensures that each veteran receives the support that best fits their individual needs, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Whether through tailored fitness programs, nutritional guidance, or mental health resources, Catch-A-Lift Fund's impact is both profound and lasting.
Catch-A-Lift Fund stands out as a beacon of genuine care and commitment in a world where some support systems feel disconnected. Their work not only honors the sacrifices made by our veterans but also provides them with the tools they need to thrive in their post-service lives.
I am new to the Catch a Lift Fund, and am so impressed with this non-profit! It is not even about all of the wonderful programming an access to a wealth of fitness information; it is about the people! The connections I have already made in such a short time is pretty incredible. As a veteran who has dealt with a lot of PTSD and depression, it feels so good to have that camaraderie again! I highly recommend Catch A Lift Fund to every veteran interested in beginning or continuing their wellness journey! Thank God for this group, and #CALStrong all day long!
Since I have been in the program, it has turned a lot around for me. Physical, Mental and Emotional health have improved. I promote the program everywhere I go, especially around veterans.

This organization is hands down one of the best. There is no ego, no greed and no political nonsense at the top. Too often “veteran organizations” start out with the right intentions, only to quickly succumb to those things. All they care about is veterans and servicing the community. Yes they hold you to a standard, however, if you can’t handle the minimal check ins and tasks you don’t deserve the equipment/gym membership. You also don’t deserve the awesomeness that is CAL. This organization changed and saved lives, it did mine.
Catch-a-Lift Fund is an amazing organization. They truly make a difference in the lives of veterans, they have definitely made a difference in mine. The injuries I incurred in my almost 21 years of military service make it difficult to stay in shape and to stay motivated. I was introduced to catch a lift three years ago and my life is changing at a result! It is overwhelming the amount of love and support that they provide: from simple text messages of motivation, to generous funding to buy personal work out equipment so that I can work out at home-with my boys! They provide so many resources as well, with recipes and workouts…. They are amazing people!

How can you explain to someone the impact of an organization on your life. It would be a very long story to explain my almost 21 years of military service and all the injuries that I sustained over that time period. When I was medically retired in 2019 I had already redefined myself twice because of my injuries and changing "jobs" in the military. I was beat, defeated and very depressed. It is hard to find motivation when you are in daily pain and have almost given up on yourself. With Catch A Lift Fund, I can't even find the word...support, no judgement, and motivation. It has been a long slow road but I am working out in my home 3-5 times a week and starting to feel better about myself. I could not have done this without you!
My counselor told me about Catch A Lift and it has been a tremendous help. I love the weekly emails, the regular interaction with a fitness coach, and the online platform to interact with others. I am extremely grateful for it being other veterans who have a good understanding of what I am going through, what my challenges are, and how to best motivate me to be better. There are a variety of fitness paths to choose from and I was in the one focused on nutrition and wellness. I didn't feel at all like I was being expected to be on some sort of diet. It felt like being given tools that work better for me and my family. I was given ideas on meal prep that was prepping ingredients versus specific meals. Which worked really well for being able to go into the fridge and still being able to put together something different each night and also saving time during the week. I was motivated to be more active and not ever made to feel guilty for not doing things a very specific way. I felt extremely supported and like I could meet my goals. I feel better, I have more energy, and I have a lifelong community of fellow veterans supporting me.
This has been a very challenging year which has made it extremely difficult to keep going, but the one thing that I could always count on was CAL. I was to continue working out which is my coping mechanism while constantly being motivated through inspirational quotes.

I'm a disabled veteran that always enjoyed working out, but got to the point of not being able to do anything without injuring myself. After a fitness summit i heard about Catch A Lift. The Organization has daily workouts, videos, and groups that really helped me being able to continue working out without causing more harm than good.
Catch a Lift help kick start my healthy journey. They are a non profit with a goal of getting disabled vets back into the gym. Looking forward to not feeling better.
Very supportive community that has helped me get back on track with an active and healthy lifestyle. I thoroughly enjoy the large amount of content which provides numerous ideas to help.
Catch a Lift Foundation has been a lifeline in my fitness journey, and it has extended its support to more than just my physical health. The equipment and resources you've provided have been instrumental in helping me achieve my fitness goals and lead a healthier, more fulfilling life, and I am eternally grateful for this.
Moreover, the impact of your foundation goes beyond the physical realm. My mental health has also seen significant improvements. The discipline and structure of my fitness routine have helped me maintain a positive mindset and improve my overall mental well-being. I've found solace in my home gym, and it has become a sanctuary where I can clear my mind and focus on personal growth.

I eagerly look forward to continuing this transformative journey with your foundation by my side.
I have had nothing but great experiences with this nonprofit organization! Everyone that has helped me is truly passionate about veterans! They show their love and compassion through their work! I love Catch A Lift and recommend them to all veterans! I also ask that whomever can donate to keep the organization going to please do so.

Catch a Lift Fund is an awesome nonprofit organization for disabled veterans!
I am an Iraqi Freedom Army vet who struggles day to day due to PTSD. I shared my story with Catch a Lift, and they were very quick to respond. Since I struggle with being it in large and unknown crowds, Catch a Lift funded me my own personal home gym! The process was very easy! They send me daily motivation quotes, and check on me often.
Thanks to Catch a Lift, I am slowly building my confidence level while getting fit all at the same time!
I would absolutely recommend Catch a Lift as a go to company for all disabled veterans such as myself.
First, this program is 2nd to none! From the beginning of my journey, I loved what Catch A Lift offers and the great resources/coaches they offer. While doing the program, I have learned a lot about my good and bad workout habits. I presently know the correct ways to achieve my full potential in my health goals! Thank you catch A Lift!
This organization changed my life for the better. It assisted me in becoming the best version of myself, there are a ton of veteran organizations out there. In my opinion, few are on the same level as Catch a lift.
Catch a lift has made me stronger and accountable of myself in achieving my daily/weekly goals. I had become stronger and had for the first time did 8 reps of 720 lbs on leg strength press. Awesome organization and coaches.
Catch a lift is amazing!!This non profit organization is critical in changing the lives of our wounded veterans across America. Catch a lift provides a epic website that is loaded with all the health focused information anyone would need to change there mind and body for the better.
Once enrolled, your assigned a knowledgeable fitness coach who walks you through a self selected exercise program. Even more Catch a lift then sends you a swag bag full of goodies and exercise bands to use at home. After 8 weeks of reporting your workout progression, you get the choice to either build your gym in your garage, or attend a local gym of your choice. This is all paid through a scholarship that Catch a lift provides. Catch a lift has been a platform for me to become a healthier and happier human being. Well done Catch a lift, well done!
I love it! My coach is excellent and was selected specifically to help me meet my goals. We have a lot of personal interaction so not only am I meeting my goals, but I am learning a lot, too. I highly recommend Catch A Lift Fund!
If you're a wounded veteran looking for a community of your peers. Catch a Lift is the organization to join! The journey begins online, but when you graduate and become alumni, that' when you'll know the difference between them and other organizations. I've been a part of a lot of veteran organizations. CAL is the only one I suggest to other veterans to join.
Catch a Lift is a great program to become involved in because it helps you get stronger not just physically but also mentally and socially. If you want to get the most out of your time spent working out, Catch a Lift is the perfect choice. I began participating in the program around 2022, but I had to delay my start due to recovering from two surgical procedures.
I am a participant in the CrossFit programs, which have been of assistance to me in a variety of different ways. This is particularly true considering that I am a wounded veteran who was medically retired at a time when I was struggling with a variety of different medical difficulties. My self-assurance, endurance, physical strength, and fitness have all improved as a result of participating in the program. It is supporting me in conquering some challenges in my life that are connected to post-traumatic stress disorder (PSTD), rage, anxiety, trauma, mood swings, and being socially isolated from other people.
When you can really see the final results of your exercise progress, it completely changes my perspective on how effective your routine is. I'm eager to find out what the daily CrossFit workout entails ahead of time. Because I am unable to execute some activities, such as leaping, bending, or twisting, I am aware that some of the exercises may need to be altered so that I may continue to benefit from them. For me, it is not a discouragement; rather, it has only informed me of the areas in which I need to concentrate my efforts in order to become proficient in those activities.
We are fortunate to have a large number of fantastic instructors across the board, and this is particularly true for our CrossFit coaches. Our coach, Sarah Rudder, is wonderful at working with each and every one of us by providing videos teaching the right methods and how the workouts can be tweaked if required. She is happy to assist you in the areas of exercise and equipment, should you want knowledge on any of those topics. The most crucial thing is that you must have faith in yourself in order to see the ultimate results, and you must also remain committed to the program.

My experience with the Catch A Lift Fund Program, has been beyond amazing!! With almost one year as a CAL member, I have experienced a few ups and downs on my road to achieving and maintaining my goals and pushing froward to gain more positive results. I absolutely love my bands workout program. The program is equipped with all my needs from my wonderful CAL family and support squad, weekly motivational text, healthy recipes, coaches, blogs, a weekly enlightening PODCAST and a plethora of grand events and programs.
Truly grateful to Lynn Coffland and my entire CAL Family, for changing my life for the better!!

I have been living with physical and mental injuries sustained in combat for more then half my career in the Marines. While serving I was constantly working on self improvement to battle my depression, anxiety and constant physical pain after returning home from combat deployments. As a result I would use the gym as therapy to strengthen my mind, body and spirit. Since retiring medically, Catch A Lift has been a blessing to me, by providing me with a wonderful coach, resources and an opportunity to connect with other veterans like myself. Thank you Catch A Lift for helping me continue my recovery journey through fitness and to continue seeking for my next “Why” in my life.
Went from a shutdown sedentary homebody life to competing in my 1st 10K run!! The coaches keep you accountable which is awesome, because in 8 weeks, your motivation will fluctuate. I recommend CAL to any disabled veteran I meet. It feels good to be a part of an organization with fellow veterans who actually know what I'm going through. CAL is a game changer for disabled veterans!!!
my name is Chadrick Allen and catch a lift fund has changed my life greatly. It has giving me a purpose too live again and to lose weight. I love my coach and I love journey. Thank you.
I was over weight and was not motivated to working out. The doctor told me I was high risk high cholesterol. The catch a lift gave me tools and motivation to getting up to making a change in my life. I lost over 50 pounds and cholesterol has lowered.
I feel more energized and less pain than normal. I’ve been able to keep my weight steady and diabetes under control.
I love this program and am so blessed to be a part of it. I love the benefits of exercising, but I often lack the motivation (unless someone is holding me to task). That's where this program excels! Since I'm being held accountable if I want to keep doing it, I make sure I'm exercising quite regularly. And I've been so impressed that I've been sharing the program with my fellow vets. I wish I'd known about this program sooner, but better late than never!
CAL has changed my life. Before CAL, I was extremely obese. Now I am in the normal weight range and seeing muscle tone. This is the first time in in over 30 years and I'm no longer a high risk for stroke or heart attack.
CAL has just been an awesome organization to be a part of. First off, it allows us all to remember the sacrifice that Chris Coffland made for us all, but it also is a continuation of something he loved to do; work out. Dealing with combat-related injuries can be a serious hinderance but the staff has a ton of knowledge on how to overcome these things. They provide the tools and the knowledge to really help us get through many obstacles. I honestly don't have the words to describe it all. They are life-changers. There's really not much that can describe what they do. I am forever grateful to them.
Catch-A-Lift changed my life. They believed in me when I didn’t even believe in myself. They gave me purpose, helped me find who I was again, find my place in the world after I got out. Lynn and all the staff and volunteers are absolutely amazing. Thank you for everything you do!
I was directed to Catch A Lift through the VA. After a terrible incident at work that triggered my PTSD, depression and anxiety CAL was part of the treatment to gain confidence through physical and mental strength. Their program encouraged me to get focus back on what I liked “exercises” Thank you CAL and their coaches
I was a special operator with the 75th Ranger Regiment. When I was an operator I was at the top of my game, beyond physically fit, and at the tip of the spear. When I got hurt and released from the army my standards were gone. I gained weight and had no desire to better myself and was spiraling out of control. I knew I had to do something because I wanted to be around for a long time with my wife and kids. That’s when I was introduced to the catch a lift fund and was paired with Adam my coach. This program was designed for someone like me that needed motivation and drive. I loved every second of it and it got me back to the shape I wanted and needed to be. It has literally changed and help save my life. I owe so much to the men and women of catch of lift. I can’t thank them enough or recommend them enough.
CAL is a wonderful and unique community of veterans and supporters who seek to help us improve our quality of life and wellness through a holistic approach to fitness. Many other organizations have a very narrow focus or they fail to truly serve the purpose of building a strong mind in addition to a strong body. This approach leads to short term improvements for participants but fails to create an enduring impact. CAL enlists a variety of modalities and approaches to fitness that include mindfulness, breathwork, functional fitness, mobility work, yoga and community initiatives where members are able to experience a true support system comprised of people who understand what they are going through. Personally, I came to CAL when I had been struggling to overcome the traumas affecting me from the service and had been recently hit with another horrific experience that left me in a place where I was self-isolating, avoiding people completely, and not feeling fulfilled or like I was able to participate in the world around me. Through CAL, I have been able to step outside of my house again, become active, enjoy life, and even help others. I am immensely grateful and can't wait to see how this organization with such a timely and beautiful mission grows and helps others.
I wanted to say that because catch a lift fund I have been able to maintain my sobriety for three years also helping me with my daily struggles I had. I have a team that I call family and amazing people that are there for me the min I need them!! Thanks catch a lift for having my back !! God bless you all
Catch A Lift Fund helped me to get out and start exercising more. Before the program I really didn't do anything due to my injuries and lack of motivation. Since Catch A Lift I have began to eat healthy and more active. I feel better, I am happier, I lost weight, and I am just better overall. They have made a good change in my life.
Catch a Lift Fund is such an extraordinary nonprofit organization. The amazing things that they do for Veterans all over is warranted for the highest rating. The fund's main mission to improve the quality of life of combat vets makes it not only unique but necessary as we know our combat vets have endured so much throughout the years.
I LOST EVERYTHING MY FAMILY, HOUSE, ECT ECT.
Once a veteran told me about this organization I got a membership. Even though I currently will never get my family back and have given up hope I have a purpose here interviewing and advising/coaching veterans.
This is a “best kept secret” for disabled vets. The program helped me to re-focus after service and my health is in great shape.
The Catch a Lift Fund has been crucial in supporting me on my fitness journey to recover from my wounds from war. CAL has a supportive staff , they have provided me in home gym equipment and have cheered me on when I have accomplished a goal. Catch a Lift is like a family and I feel supported and cared for. Catch a lift also has volunteers that calls and checks in on me . All in all this is a fantastic organization.
I was given a chance to help others, and now I am. I couldn't be happier to be apart of an organization. Vets helping Vets, it's the American way!
Catch A Lift Fund is saving lives. Every veteran that makes their way to this organization knows they now have chosen family they can lean on in difficult times as c well as celebrate with when they've overcome whatever adversities they experience. Its programs are getting and keeping veterans moving by providing a connection with others who want to MOVE forward in life.
Catch A Lift Fund does a tremendous job serving our Nations combat wounded veterans. I cannot think of a better non profit in the veteran space. The veterans being impacted by the fund tell the whole story. Catch A Lift is the real deal.
Catch A Lift has made a tremendous impact in my life. Not only was I granted home fitness equipment but I was also granted a fitness certification. Through CAL I have learned their are no limits to what I can accomplish in this life. I cannot say enough good things about Catch A Lift. They are truly always there for my and my veteran brothers and sisters

This organization is authentic and extremely impactful. They take a personalized approach to serve veterans in the program. They empower other veterans to take on leadership roles to give back to new members in the Catch A Lift program. It's a simple concept that is not just about working out and eating healthy. It's those small changes that then creates an emotional change within the veterans that helps them integrate back into the community, strengthen relationships and give them a purpose again. Every year Catch A Lift takes strides to improve their organizational efficiency and development of their staff.
Catch a lift has been purposefully driven to make sure I have what I need to get fit. Through grants, CAL has given me purpose to keep going and not settle with being injured. They provided me with weights at my home, so that I may exercise AT home. I am not yet ready for the public arena. With this in mind, CAL saw to it that my needs were filled. Lynn Coffland has been such a support person for me and my family. Her staff of dedicated people have bent over backwards to accommodate my needs in nutrition, fitness, and reaching out to other vets with a podcast opportunity. Fitness, and the pursuit of it is HEALING. I thank God for CAL and the selfless work that they do to keep veterans moving forward and to get off the couch. I’m moving in the right direction because of CAL. I have what I need to get my physical recovery moving-at the same time I have support from other vets for emotional support. Thank you Catch a lift!
Joined Catch-A-Lift and have been blessed since. Having a motivated team to inspire and help the growth physically in return helps with in so many additional levels then just health. Since I started my sleeping habits have started to get better as well. Seeing a physical change within myself as well as my body motivates me to continue as well.
There is more than just the weights and working out that they help with. Once a week I get a motivating text that happens to come in when I need it most, as well as there weekly coaches corner, a live show on youtube (that I watch most of the time after they finished as it airs around the same time as my work). I've been attached to Coach Jason who is amazing. Helping with every little question from routines, to eating, from supplements and just pure motivation. I have just finished the 6 weeks and was approved for the grant and now I'm about to have a home gym to even further better myself (as well as my wife who is going to start on this change in life). I have found in the past 6 weeks more energy for my children as well. I cannot say enough positive things about this organization. I am incredibly honored to be a part of this non-profit organization that TULY cares about the individual Combat Veteran unlike most non-profits that may have started for the right reason but find themselves caring about their numbers and silly "swag" gifts as their members drown themselves in depression.
Thank you, Catch-A-Lift and ALL your team members to include, Lynn Coffland, Melissa Leuck, Jason Smith, Alexander Nenoff & David Leuck for all you do for the Veterans and for all that you have done especially for my personal (and mental) growth.

Catch a lift was an amazing experience from the beginning. The interview process was so warm and welcoming Kevin made me feel comfortable. He was supportive the whole way. I picked CrossFit and Coach Sarah delivered week in and out. When I hit a rough patch she was there to pick me up and keep me going. I had never done CrossFit before but her coaching and help has made me find a tribe and a new gym to help me continue my journey. I am forever grateful for CAL and everyone who makes it possible. I found out about CAL through a great brother and fellow Marine Corps vet David. I love everything CAL means and stands for.
Catch a Lift is awesome, they have helped me a lot with a gym membership in the past, when the gym went out of business they were able to help me a home gym, the Staff is always willing to help fellow vets and myself
This organization has supported me and prioritized me since the day my application was submitted. I got to know the coaches, staff, and founder very well. They have vastly improved my mental health and helped me in building my own personal gym in my garage. I am forever in debt to the many efforts and love and care they have provided to me.
This non-profit has helped me in so many ways. I am a medically retired combat veteran that is benefiting from Catch a lift. My coach, coach Kevin holds me accountable for completing work outs. He also provides me work outs that are manageable, but challenging. The program has helped me gain confidence and has helped me prevent injury.
I served with the 2nd Battalion 2nd Marine Division out of Camp Lejeune, NC. I deployed with my fellow “Warlords” to Al Anbar, Iraq in 2007 as a rifleman running point position on foot patrols and then on to the Helmand River Valley, Afghanistan in 2009 as a Team Leader. I was proud to be a “Warlord” we were killers, every last one of us. Fortunately for us, the Iraq war was in a kind of lull during our time there, although many of us witnessed the horrors of war, we didn’t see much combat and we all came home. Afghanistan on the other hand, was an absolute war zone, we were shot at before our boots even touched the ground. Our metal was tested in the poppy fields of Afghanistan. We were killed, maimed, injured, plagued by IEDS at every turn, but never defeated, we fought hard until our time there was done. We all came home, but some of us were in boxes with an American flag draped over it. The bond that is formed between men in combat is unlike anything I have ever experienced in my lifetime, I hope to never experience it again, but my soul still cries out for it, for one more battle, one more bloody, dusty trip into the fray, one more patrol…I don’t know why.
Leaving the military service leaves a void in most of our lives with no meaningful way to fill it. When I was introduced to the Catch A Lift Fund I didn’t realize how far reaching the Veteran community really was. I couldn’t fathom the level of support that has been shown to me throughout my journey with them. That camaraderie that I had been missing and living without had been at the very least, partially restored. Veterans working towards healing and overcoming their scars together is a powerful thing, and I feel very lucky to be a part of that. God bless you guys.

CAL has been amazing for my overall motivation and attitude towards my fitness goals. Any veteran that is looking for a great community and to get back into physical fitness look no further than CAL.
It was recommended to me to apply for the opportunity to join this group by a VA social worker. I put it off for a long while, not having the motivation or willpower to do anything but sit at home. After almost 10 years of living the life of yet another broken warrior, I decided I had to do something to get the salvageable pets of my life back because no one else was going to do the work for me. Once I decided to give it a shot, Covid happened which put a pause on the application process for a short while. I stayed up the night before applications opened back up and submitted mine just after midnight. I received almost immediate responses from people who were nothing but motivational and understanding almost immediately. I met my coach, Kevin Demmons, a few days later and he has been nothing short of amazing to work with. He allows me to guide myself offering full support, knowledge, encouragement, and advice along the way. After my acceptance, I started a journey that I haven’t regretted for a single second. The people are wonderful, the program is wonderful, what this group brings to the table is nothing short of life-saving. The coaches are available 24/7 and push you to reach your goals and to reach out to them any time you need to. The information is abundant and covers a wide array of topics. I have to say that this isn’t just a group, but a family, trying to save those of us who need it one story at a time. I cannot recommend them enough. If you are a veteran, lost and in need of a purpose, give them a try. You won’t regret it!
I found CAL at the perfect time in my life. They were there when I needed them the most. I was going through a really tough time in my life and had lost all motivation. After joining them and working with my coach they got me back into the gym and then fitness overall and I feel much better and look much better
I have been volunteering with CAL since 2018 as a freshman in college. I am now a Junior nursing major at Stevenson University. CAL has given me the opportunity to work with some very amazing and strong people. The relationships that I have made throughout my time at CAL I will cherish forever. I have worked in veteran outreach, placing calls to veterans to check in to see how they are doing emotionally and physically. I also value the importance of listening to their struggles and stories. The veterans that I have had the chance to work closely with have inspired me everyday in my own life. I plan on continuing my work with CAL for as long as possible, lending a hand where it is needed.
This has been a great source of accountability for me. When I have returned home from my combat experience it it’s been very hard for me to stay active. This organization has not only help me with my confidence but also help me in every step to allow me to grow and regain my confidence. I Would recommend this option for every disabled veteran
CAL helped me get my exercise back on track. They provide a multi prong approach to helping individuals! -Adam E
Catch-A-Lift has been amazing to work with. They have been there for every single one of my needs. This foundation is making it possible for veterans to stay healthy, not only physically, but mentally as well. Without this foundation, I would have continued my journey down a slippery slope that was leading to obesity and even worse mental health. Thank you for all that you do!

I am amazed at the dedication and motivation from the team at CAL. Having weekly emails come to me with guidelines on nutrition, workouts, and other activities is extremely beneficial. CAL has helped me in so many ways by making me feel connected, eliminating barriers to training, and providing essential information about fitness. I cannot thank the team enough for what they have done for me!
The Catch-A-Lift Foundation has helped me remain steady and strong in both my mental and physical state of mind. Their support and existence has helped me daily to be a better mother, friend and human. Dealing with PTSD doesn’t just go away with therapy but the tools and support CAL has given me allows me to manage it and get stronger each day despite it.
I am Army Veteran AJF, I am honored to write this testimony for Catch a Lift. I was discharged in 2012 from the Army, did a couple of overseas missions. It took me a long time after transitioning from the military to admit that I had some medical issues. My PTSD/MST broke my body down to the point of needing surgery and getting a heart pacemaker, I developed Fibromyalgia, which re-aggravated my GERD,IBS, Gastritis, Esophagus inflammation. I was hospitalized for asthma leading to COPD, due to lack of mobility my LOD for knee, back and feet became more painful to move and I developed arthritis in my spine with bone loss, now I can go on with all my other disabilities which I was told by doctors that they don't know if I would be able to work out or regain my strength but I am a woman of faith and prayed to God to give me enough to endure it and persevere from my chronic pain.
A few days later Catch a Lift Melissa called me and said : I noticed you have been on our waiting list for years for a gym membership, would you like the option of gym equipment? I didn't believe it until David assisted me with the items I needed to do physical therapy at home. Every single item was provided. I was in tears and my caregiver Drew who trains in CrossFit set up the equipment for me and along with the VA physical therapist developed a work out schedule.
I love the text messages I receive from CAL, each text motivates me & I have logged in to the landing zone to get great food and modify exercise ideas. I began my journey on Jan 2, 2021, I have lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks. I may not be able to do many of the exercises due to the heart pacer but if I can lift the barbell 1x time or walk with the medicine ball for 5min, use the parachute to sprint 10 seconds, do 2 triceps curls with my 8 lbs, use my kettlebells for 4 squats, strengthen my core for 10min with my resistance band and use my caregiver and finance as punching bags while i use the boxing gloves for 15 minutes, then I have done more than enough, I have proven the doctors wrong.
If Catch A Lift can invest in my health during my hardest moment then I can push gut and persevere, my disabilities no longer define me but the willingness of others to go the extra mile for a Veteran's recovery. Thank you for helping me through my journey! All the way Catch A Lift!
I am amazed at the dedication and motivation from the team at CAL. Having weekly emails come to me with guidelines on nutrition, workouts, and other activities is extremely beneficial. I am also obsessed with the weekly motivational quotes! CAL has helped me in so many ways by making me feel connected, eliminating barriers to training, and providing essential information about fitness. I cannot thank the team enough for what they have done for me!
My name is Ed Zamora and I’ve been apart of CAL for a few years. At the time I was introduced to CAL, I had narrowed my world down to a few places near home where I could put distance between myself and others. Needles to say a packed gym was not on the list, but I knew my wieght had gotten out of control. With anxiety, depression and a list of growing medications I found myself uncomfortable within my own skin. I had tipped the scale at a whopping 250 pounds!! My BMI was startling to my doctors and my wife! I finally decided I had had enough, I quit drinking beer and began walking. Soon after I traded Gatorade and lemonade for water, and set a daily goal of half my body wieght in ounces. I combined walking/running with some weight and resistance band training for 30 mins, and before I knew it I was hitting 90 mins 6x a week! I’ve dropped 45 lbs and I’m 5 pounds away from hitting my first goal of 200 lbs. this is only the beginning, I haven’t had this much optimism and momentum in over 10 years, not to mention I haven’t weight this much in the same amount of time. By my 42 Birthday in May of 2021 I plan on being 175 pounds, which will be a total of 75 lbs lost. A year ago I wouldn’t believe I’d be where I’m at now, so there is no question I’ll smash every goal I set for this year. Overall, I hope to be on less medications and living a healthy sober life. Thank you CAL for jump starting my second chance at living!
I absolutely love working out with Catch a Lift. I have been able to go to the gym and feel energized. I love being able to workout at my pace and have a consistent motivation in my day.
Thank you CAL!
Lynn and everyone at Catch-a-Lift are absolutely amazing. They are some of the most dedicated, selfless humans I have ever known. I lost over 100# that I gained after being medically retired since I joined CAL. My mental and physical well-being is the best it's been since I was on Active Duty. This is the longest I been able to go without surgery since I was hurt and I've gained a new family who support me through everything, push me, believe in me, and are there for me not matter what. ❤
CAL changed my life. Through a possible grant, I was able to learn CrossFit and have kept up with fitness. My wife and kids also benefited. Today I still follow CrossFit programming at home, safely. CAL enabled me to pursue a healthy lifestyle and avoid diabetes and high blood pressure that plagues my family. Thank you CAL!
I love being part of Catch a lift. Not only do I get the benefit of fitness. I also feel better in regards to my PTSD. I feel so much calmer! Also, it gets me out of the house and surrounded by other people. John Thompson5806 Brimstone Hill LmConroe, TX 77304
My name is Emilian Wojcik. I’m a retired US Army veteran with 8 deployments. I was medically retired from the military because of my injuries. One of which resulted in me being diagnosed with seizures. This makes it difficult to get around because I can’t drive. This is where catchalift stepped in and helped me get the equipment I desperately needed to continue my fitness. This is a complete blessing because the nearest gym is about a 30 minute drive from where I live and with the COVID epidemic happening, they close down frequently, or only let a certain amount of people in. Catchalift, you guys are a Godsend. Thank you.
With the weekly connections and motivation texts, I have loss over 60 pounds. The support I get from Catch a Lift is astronomical and greatly keeps me in a healthy state of mind both physically and mentally.
I am a PTSD survivor. The Catch a Lift program has provided me with an outlet to my PTSD. After my military service, I had nowhere to go and nowhere to turn. My journey lead me to Catch a Lift and now I have a positive outlet for all that anger and frustration. The program provided me with a treadmill and support. Support I direly needed. I feel like I'm not alone and that there is always someone around for me, especially when I need them. Thanks to everyone on the team and your weekly motivational emails.
My catch a lift experience has been simply phenomenal..there are no words.. CAL ROCKS!!!!! My non- profit is WWP.it has been a lifesaver..there are simply toooo many amazing stories.. warmly, Angelina Young - CT
CAL has help me stay consistent and accountable with my attendance at the gym. Whenever I feel like not wanting to go to the gym or unmotivated I reminder myself that CAL is supporting me with generous support from our citizens who wants to see us succeed in our health and fitness. Thank You CAL for your constant and generous support to us Veterans.
I am a disabled veteran who has been forced out of the workforce and medically retired from the United States Army. I am a proud recipient of Catch-A-Lift equipment and it has truly saved my life and the the lives of my family. When I was relieved of my last civilian job my life began to spiral out of control and the VA prescribed me over 12 medications and after taking these medications for 4 months I gained over 70 pounds and my depression got worst. I gained so much weight that it was hard to leave my house or walk from downstairs to upstairs in my own house. After receiving my grant equipment and access to the landing zone I began to use my workout equipment everyday and changed my diet drastically giving me new hope on my life. On top of all that this equipment has also given me an outlet for my stress and anger rather than yell at my wife and kids. During these angry moments I go workout and burn off my steam. Now after using my equipment for over a year my medication intake is down to 4 pills a day and I went from getting on average 2 hours of sleep to getting an average of 7 hours of sleep. And I truly owe that all to CAL.
I love what they do for the veteran community! I have been a member for the past 2 years and can honestly say they have changed my way of life thanks to their generosity. Since beginning the program I have gotten off of 4 medications, my blood pressure has improved and my daily activity has increased thanks to Catch A Lift Fund!
Catch a lift has been amazing. Between my injuries from my service to being diagnosed with MS. They have helped me in everyday imaginable from gaining my strength back to nutrition, motivation and helping me get my head right! Can't thank the team at catch a lift enough.
I love the weekly quotes, challenges, and the acceptance from all the athletes. Through all of this I have found my love for cycling and am able to expand it.
I’ve lost 20 lbs. with the programming and motivation provided by these folks; this weight loss has provided me more energy throughout the day and I get my negative energy out during the workouts, affording me a bit more patience when dealing with stressful situations. Also being in touch with other wounded/disabled vets and seeing their progress is motivating in itself!
Helped me get back to keeping me moving, help keep me motivated, great communication, great community, the list goes on. What they do for us vets and continue to do for us is simply amazing. They give us hope and show they truly care
CatchALift nonprofit organization is a great way to keep in shape and keep in touch with other fellow veterans out there across the country. For so long I felt alone after getting out like the rest of the world was against me then I found out about CatchALift through my veteran buddy at my college and signed up and got a ton of support from the whole CatchALift family and friends along with other male and female combat veterans out there. They keep us all motivated on what is important, and what works for us because they take the time to listen to us all individually. I was not welcome at my local Crossfit boxes because of my PTSD so CatchALift set me up with a Home gym and that works for me. Keep it real. Sincerely Jeremy Meyer!

Not only have they helped my husband get back on track after being not as active as he'd of liked because of injury, but they also give caregivers a chance to support our husbands as well. We've both lost weight and began a healthier life ..
Lonely. Depressed. Dark. Suicidal. Homicidal. Violent outburst. Scaring my family and kids. No motivation. No outlet.
That was my life before I was told about CatchALiftFund. I immediately applied, when I heard about their mission and reasoning. I felt this as a chance for possible change.
CatchALiftFund got me in a gym of my own choice. I started running on a treadmill. Started doing some weights and incorporated abs and core as well. I was a hefty 252lbs. I was unhealthy. After several months and 2 years I was running upwards of 6miles at a time depending on the day.
Weight started dropping, healthy eating habits followed. I was socializing at the gym. I never socialize. This was a game changers for me.
I lost over 52lbs during that time. My anger was more under control. My self worth and happiness had increased. My family, especially my wife noticed a huge difference in me.
CatchALiftFund has given me the chance work through my issues using physical fitness. Any donation made will change a veterans life.
Thank you CatchALiftFund. Thank you CPL. Coffland for the ultimate sacrifice. Every workout I keep you in mind.
A tremendous group of highly dedicated volunteers. The program has great follow through and really makes a difference. Not only do they provide a gym membership or home equipment, they have several layers of communication and follow up and offer help with workout plans nutrition and more!
They do a great job helping veterans find inner strength, health and quality of life. They have personally impacted my life by giving me the resources and tools to get stronger and promote rehabilitation after a serious injury I obtained in the military that left me wheelchair bound for years. I am grateful that organizations like this exist and continue serving the needs of a community that are still growing.
this foundation is awesome. It gives back so much to veterans through gym memberships and equipment. These soldiers need this it gives them reasons, build them up mentally and physically. I am honored to have seen how this works and to help with a fundraiser that has this awesome foundation as one of our beneficiaries. Please support and go to the site and see what they are all about !!!!
This is an excellent nonprofit that has a clear understanding of purpose and how to execute a successful support system to its members. I am proud to be a donor to this organization.
I am Jose A Pagan and I have been a member of the Catch A Lift Fund for 3 years. It took me a while to come up with the right words to express my gratitude for this organization, but there are no words but to to say that they are amazing, amazing, amazing. Lynn Coffland which is the founder and CEO of the organization is actively involved in the veterans experience. Iv'e participated in many other organizations and I have never met, talked and ate lunch with the CEO. Lynn is always always available to listen to us and is always willing to to anything under the sun to make sure that we are okay. Her team is beyond amazing, they are family. They email, call and text me almost everyday just to say hello. Also, the opportunity to join a gym and focus on my well being is something that has helped me transition after serving in the Army. Catch A Lift Fund has been there with me and it has been a wonderful journey. Such a great organization, Thank You.

If this memorial fund is dedicated to the same Coffland I new in AIT, I am so happy to see this. I knew him there and he was a great guy. I was sad to find out about his death while I was in Iraq. Thanks to whoever organized this memorial fund. Whoever receives this grant, just know Coffland would have fully supported you.
There is not enough I can say about CAL. The equipment that I received is amazing and it has helped me tremendously. Due to PTSD and a TBI I'm not very comfortable in a gym setting unless I go early in the morning when its empty. With the equipment at my home I no excuses and I'm in a comfortable environment. I get in the garage and workout for an hour daily without any problem. I've able to drop the weight and maintain my physique in the comfort of my own home.
After getting out of the Marine corps it was hard trying to find a gym or equipment that I could afford. Thanks to this awesome non profit I now keep my strength and flexibility because of the equipment that was given to me. Thanks!
I'm a disabled combat veteran. I served two deployments to Iraq where k was injured both times. After being medically retired after my second deployment, I returned to my hometown. I withdrew myself from the world around me and let the VA feed me pills for my issues. After 4 years i got up to almost 300lbs. Living on VA disability isn't easy. Catch a Lift helped me get into a gym and gave me the tools to get back into the shape I should be in... well at least I'm getting there. And it seems as if Catch a Lift is adding something new for its members every month. And I'm very excited to get the opportunity to take advantage of the great programs and training they have to offer. I hope o way I can make an impact on the veteran community as they have made an impact in my life.
I was injured in Afghanistan in 2011. Medically retired and 6 years later, I was fat, out of shape and having health issues. Catch A Lift Fund has enabled me to regain control of my life and fitness. In 2 months, I've seen amazing results in my strength, endurance, and overall well being. I've become a certified CrossFit Judge, and am on my way to becoming a CrossFit Level 1 Certified trainer. They absolutely rock, and I couldn't have done it without them.
Great organization with a great mission.
I am a combat-wounded, medically retired OIF Veteran, who was notified of Catch A Lift by a fellow wounded Veteran. The application process was simple and straight forward, and after a few months I was notified that I would receive a one-year gym membership grant. I am now going on my second year as a Catch A Lift Veteran, and decided to volunteer as Squad Leader to provide support/mentorship to new Catch A Lift Veterans.
Their mission is very logical: basically, provide gym memberships and/or at-home gym equipment to wounded Veterans, with the resulting goal being mental/physical healing. And, it makes sense. The benefits of exercise and social activity decrease anything from weight gain to symptoms of depression. Sleep improves, medications decrease, etc., and the Veteran is improving his/her health.
One of my favorite aspects of Catch A Lift, is that there is an accountability factor to their grants. A recipient is expected to exercise at least three times per week. Progress is monitored, and each Veteran is assigned to a Squad Leader who is required to have monthly phone contacts with the Veteran. These contacts are charted by the Squad Leader, which include how the Veteran is doing, their progress, challenges, a review of their goals, etc. The Catch A Lift Veteran is not just issued a grant, they are issued a grant but are also provided actual support and encouragement during the entire time of their grant.
Receiving a Catch A Lift grant has been one of the best things that has happened to me. The organization is great, and very helping. You feel like you are part of something larger than yourself. But getting back in the gym has been the most beneficial for me. I have found that same kind of camaraderie, sense of accomplishment, support, physical activity, and sense of belonging at my gym, which I have yet to experience since leaving the military.
As an active duty Air Force member I have volunteered and have seen first hand the great things CAL does. They are a great charity as they continue to grow and serve more veterans.
I am a combat wounded Marine. My wife is also a medically retired Marine, which requires me to be present with her on a consistent basis for medical reasons. Since I cannot typically spend hours a day away at the gym, Catch A Lift granted me a home gym. It has made it possible for me to stay on track physically and mentally. I am able to keep up with my physical goals without compromising my ability to be present for my wife and her medical needs. The ability to have equipment to assist in keeping fit has had a very positive impact on my life and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity CAL has given me.
I'm an Air Force combat veteran, medically retired after my 9th tour when I was injured in Afghanistan. Along with a lot of physical surgeries, I racked up a lot of mental injuries that were left unchecked. After I was separated I didn't just lose my job I lost my identity, sense of purpose and motivation to keep up with my former fitness routines. The military really pushes physical fitness not simply for a physically strong fishing force but a mentally strong and healthy fighting force.
To anyone in, works for, volunteers with or supports the Catch A Lift Fund, I can never express how grateful we are for this program. Without a doubt, I know Catch A Lift enhances our veterans quality of life and has made a difference to reduce the disturbing suicide epidemic our combat veterans face.
Raising a family of six, a gym membership is an intangible luxury expense our family simple cannot afford. Catch A Lift is supporting more than our veterans, it goes deeper than the veteran; since I've been able to return to the gym, my family has a happy, healthier father and our community has better member of society who now has the energy to volunteer with a couple organizations.
I take great pride being a member of the Catch A Lift program.
Because of CAL I was able to not only work on fitness goals but also build relationships/ friendships again. I pretty much cut the world off, but going in and being held accountable for my training forced me to engage. Thank you CAL
Catch A lift has helped me carve out my recovery over the last year with a purely holistic, self reliant approch that stands unchanged in their dedication. Going into my second year I have the highest of goals for my own health and a proven faith in their service.
The Cath A Lift Fund is one of the most amazing Non-Profit organizations that I have the pleasure of volunteering for. Their cause is amazing along with the work that they do. Its amazing to see the care and compassion they have for each individual veteran, especially the president and founder Lynn Coffland. The way that she talks to the vets and listens to their stories and helps them, you can see and hear the compassion in her voice. I always look forward to my time at Catch A Lift not only to contiune to help their cause but also because all of the people that work there are truly great people you would want to be around. I am so proud to be apart of such an amazing organization. The Catch A LIft Fund inspires me everyday.
These people are liars. DO NOT DO ANY WORK FOR OR WITH THEM.

Hello Runner12- you listed yourself as a donor- may I ask when your donation was made? I'd be happy to let you know exactly how your donation was used and what veteran it helped sponsor. If you are a Disney runner who was unable to complete your contracted fundraising agreement, I'm sorry you were unable to further benefit the lives and health of America's wounded heroes. We have hundreds of wounded veterans on our wait list and every donation given and every dollar saved is incredibly important to our charity. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us: katelyn@catchaliftfund.com Thank you.
Thanks to Catch A Lift, I have the gear I need to train with right in my garage. Fitness has been my truest form of therapy on many levels, and it's great to feel the support of this organization with every workout. There are opportunities to help others within the program as well, and I hope to be a part of that soon.

As a Marine combat veteran battling PTSD, staying physically active is sometimes the only thing that holds me together. For me, exercise has been the single-most effective "treatment"--the one thing that actually helps me move forward. Catch A Lift gets this. Since I have difficulties being in crowded areas (especially ones with a lot of noise like a gym) the Catch A Lift program allowed me to receive exercise equipment for my own home gym. Not only do I have the equipment to workout at home now, but I feel the supported and encouraged through this service.
Outstanding group they really do care about helping us veterans. Not only do they provide the means to get physically fit they also provide support and follow up along the way to make sure that you stay on track. I am so glad that they take the time and provide such a great source of recovery for us veterans.
Catch A Lift has been great. The cost of a membership to a quality gym/athletic club is very expensive, which makes it tough for many veterans like myself on a limited budget. Catch a Lift provides the resources and support for this mission.
Great Vet Org and really cares about the vets it helps. A lions share is the donations go back to vets!
Our family had not had much interaction with vets before Catch A Lift, but now we volunteer for every event we can in order to give back. The work they do with the vets is clear that it is making an impact every time you hear one of our heroes talk about what CAL has done for them. We will continue to do whatever we can to help this amazing non-profit.
I am a Viet Nam era veteran, who went to Korea instead of Viet Nam so I was spared the physical and psychological trauma suffered by many of my contemporaries. Recently retired, I have been looking for a place to give back to help those who took bigger hits and as a remembrance of my childhood friend William Van Stone who did not survive the war, and I came upon Catch-A-Lift. Their operating premise, providing gym memberships and equipment to help vets become active and strong again, struck me immediately as a very practical and immediate way to help. I volunteer and have gotten to know a group of the vets in my role as Squad Leader. I applaud their efforts and will continue to do all I can in support.
Catch a Lift has helped me find strength both physically and mentally as I use the home gym equipment they provided me. Their staff have been amazing and have inspired me to volunteer for them. Their whole goal is to get veterans to a place of healing and recovery through fitness. I'm a more functional citizen today because of CAL!

A Heath and wellness coordinator from the Wounded Warrior Project sent out workouts but I had no way to complete them. I expressed my difficulties and he suggested that I contact Catch A Lift. My wife and I filled out the application and were informed promptly that they had received it. I was very excited to be accepted to the program and have a chance to get some exercise equipment for the house. It means a ton that I can workout my frustrations and clear my mind through physical exercise. This organization is helping wounded veterans to improve their physical and mental health in a sustainable way. Communication with the staff has been amazing and their genuine concern for our wellbeing is touching.
Recently became a volunteer after hearing all the great work the program is doing from a friend. As a former military member (11 years) that served 7 overseas deployments, I recognize the need for personal health to the well-being of the body and mind. I look forward to partnering with the program to serve our nation's true heroes. Thank you to all that have served and to programs like this that support our troops when they return.
Cheers
For such a minimal investment, Catch a Lift goes a long way to help returning injured vets get the help they need to get back into both physical and mental shape. The difference they make in the lives of our heroes is amazing!
Catch-a-Lift is amazing. 100% committed to helping veterans live healthier lives, physically and emotionally. Keep up the great work CAL!
My name is Jimmy Hughes
I found out about catch a lift through another veteran, i contacted them because i needed to get back into fitness. I felt horrible, my body was achy and sore all the time. I got tired quickly. Just out of shape really. But i weighed 145.
In the previous 2 years i ran 2 spartan races without training a single day so i was curious to see how i could do with training.
Since i received my gym equipment i have gained 10 pounds(yes thats my goal, i lost alot of my muscle once i got wounded.) and i have gotten most of my strenth back that i hadnt had since 2010. I now have 3 spartan races schedluled to run, alongside my brothers and fellow wounded combat vets. Some of which were in the same ied blast and gunfights as me. Lynn is amazing to work with and devotes so much time to this organization. Its a great way to give back to veterans and keep Chris' spirit alive. Im proud to be a part of this, and i hope i can find a way to give back as well.
My name is Shadd Hoffman, I am a 10 year US Army Veteran with two tours in Iraq. I was injured both tours in Iraq, one them with a severe back injury. I have been out of active duty for a few years now but remain very active in the gym. I have to keep my back strong otherwise I would be in very bad shape. I came across Catch A Lift Fund a few years ago I thought that's giving vets gym memberships was an awesome way to give back to the troops. It wasn't long after I signed up that they came through and took care of my LA Fitness membership. I couldn't more grateful to such an awesome organization. I am proud to represent such and amazing organization and couldn't think of a better one to be a part of.
My name is Jimi Mcmahon. I contacted CatchALiftFund in 2013 in regards to help with my recovery from injuries over seas. From the time I contacted them they were engaged immediately in regards to my recovery and fitness goal needs. I was on multiple medications and had weighed over 300 lbs. My PTSD was severe and Chronic. I had many medical factors also that contributed to my weight gain and loss of touch with my family and society. Thought out my journey Lynn and her organization constantly checked on me to see how my progress was going. I now am down to 215 lbs and have also dropped numerous medications for pain and phsycological issues. There program also provides veterans with many opportunities in regards to connecting with other veterans and learning how to deal with obstacles that wounded veterans face everyday. The Squad leader program monitors my weekly progress and is also a crisis intervention tool that has proven to save lives. They also will get the veteran certified as a personal trainer which in turns provides employment for the veteran and also helps the organization as the membership numbers grow. CatchALiftFund has literally saved my life as long with thousands of other veterans with out having to over medicate. It is way more then just a gym membership. It is an invaluable tool that is so reading nation wide to help deal with the suicide epidemic among veterans that certain government agencies turn a blind eye on. It is a tangible and effective concept that saves lives. Simple and plain. Thank you Lynn!!
This organization has allowed me to get into a fabulous Barre Studio, rebuild my self-esteem and lose weight. I'm forever grateful for this kick in the butt and all the wonderful donors!
One of the best organizations I've been with! CAL has helped me in tremendous ways. I have ptsd and TBI ( traumatic brain injury) and CAL was able to help me get back in the gym in a fast way possible. Being at the gym for even an hour helps me so much by getting my motivation and spirit up and feeling useful.

I am 33 years old and when I was in the marines in Iraq my vehicle was hit by an IED. My body has never felt the same since then. I was in constant pain and started losing motivation because of it. The gym prices were getting too expensive to keep up and did not have the energy to workout on my own. I was told about CAL program and I applied. The program has been a life saver for me and my family! I have been going to the gym 5 times a week for over 8 months now. I am full of energy and able to function a lot better by being healthier. The people that work for CAL are super friendly and very welcoming to new people. I have a new outlook on life and I have lost over 20 lbs.
My husband is 100% for Ptsd, while we are still on the waiting list, CAL, keeps us posted with occasional emails. This is an amazing organization that is providing wonderful services and is going to benefit my housebound vet to the fullest. Thanks catch a lift!!
This is an amazing organization. I have had a friend who used it and I have seen so much positive change in him. Thank you for all you do!
I've been a volunteer Squad Leader with Catch A Lift since the beginning of January 2016 but had been a fan of the organization for several months prior. A personal trainer for 21 years and a US Army veteran myself, I felt compelled to see how I could be of service -- again.
From the first email interaction with Katelyn to the telephone conversation with Lynn Coffland (CAL's creator) I KNEW this was going to be an amazing experience in my life.
Now, with 2 full months of volunteering with the Vets that CAL serves, my life has been undeniably changed for the better.
This is an awesome, awe-inspiring organization. I'm lucky to be part of it!!
Catch A Lift has helped my veteran get motivated and getting into shape. I enjoyed the friendliness from Lynn and her coworkers. Thank you so much for all that you have done for us and continue to do for our veterans.

THIS CHARITY SERIOUSLY CHANGED MY LIFE FOR THE BETTER!!! I AM SO MUCH BETTER OFF NOW, THANKS TO MY GYM MEMBERSHIP SUPPLIED BY CAL FUND!!! THESE ARE TRULY REMARKABLE PEOPLE, DOING THEIR BEST TO HELP US VETERANS IMPROVE OUR LIVES. EVERY TIME I GO TO THE GYM, AND KNOWING IT'S PAID FOR, HAS ME SO MOTIVATED WITHOUT THE STRESS OF WORRYING ABOUT HOW I'M GOING TO PAY FOR IT!!! I TRULY LOVE THESE GUYS, AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!! THEY ARE THE "REAL DEAL"!!! I'M LIVING PROOF!!! ---HOOAH!!! GET SOME!!!
This is "the" most selfless non-profit I've ever had the pleasure of being affiliated with. Ever since returning home from my service in the military in 2008, there was absolutely nothing out there for transition veterans with life skills. To add to that hardship I've been mistreated and misdiagnosed by the VA for over 6 years until they finally realized (actually just one true public servant) saw my record and years of neglect and began treating me for my TBI and the multitude of secondary injuries caused by the TBI, such as Post Concussion Syndrome, Chronic Headaches,Migraines, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, ADHD, Insomnia etc..
Now that I began to become somewhat able to function again, I was at odds with the reality that I either select the financial burden for the gym, or paying the bills. When a fellow combat wounded veteran told me about this amazing local charity that provides service connected disabled wounded veterans 100% fully funded gym memberships, I thought it was to good to be true!
I quickly researched the foundation and applied for the program. I was promptly processed and approved for the grant and placed on their waiting list. After a few months of patiently waiting, I received the awesome email for CAL that I am ready to proceed. CAL provided me a one of a kind top notch gym membership with Lifetime Fitness in Columbia, Maryland. I couldn't have been any happier. Since getting back into the gym 3 days a week, it's boosted my energy level back up, cut off 50 lbs and has made me so much happier!
The only thing that I didn't like was having to shell out the money for the new clothes because I dropped weight so fast once getting back into a rhythm!
I am a disabled veteran and received a home gym through CAL fund. It is going to make a big difference in my well being having access to this equipment. Everyone I talked to and corresponded with were always very friendly and very responsive. You can tell that helping veterans means a lot to them.
CAL has been very helpful. I now have a home gym thanks to them. Very responsive and great staff!
Thank you!!!
I am a disabled veteran and cannot believe the great change in my quality of life i felt since i received the free home gym from catch a lift fund!!!! Thank you so much and god bless !!! I recommend this organization to any disabled veteran who is dealing with physical or psychological scars from war.
My wife and I are very thankful for Catch a Lift. We spend 5 days a week at the gym together and couldn't be happier to push eachother to become healthier and stronger. I have been able to do my physical therapy while recovering from surgeries. Thank you
I had a hard time adjusting to civilian life the first 8 years after getting out of the military. I was trying to be accepted into social groups by doing drugs and drinking or partying. Although I felt some times were fun, I never really enjoyed it. I felt like I was stuck in a place I didn't belong. I was living with friends moving to someone else's house every year. Friends that were unstable and some addicts. In 2014 my doctor at the VA in Baltimore told me about Catch A Lift Fund. Once I started going to the gym I obtained a new respect for myself and a need to go back to the gym as much as I could. The new feeling of confidence pushed me to go back to college and pursue a Bachelors in Engineering. I almost turned around and went home the first day because it felt so weird. If it weren't for CAL I don't know if I would have ever gained the confidence I needed to get my life on track. For me CAL didn't just supply me with a gym membership, they gave me an opportunity for a new life. Now I live in an apartment with only my dog, attend school full time, and work part time. I have a beautiful girlfriend and life is just unexpectedly great for me. Thanks CAL fr the start.
Hello I am a combat wounded veteran that struggles daily with PTSD, TBI and depression. It is difficult to find the motivation to even leave my house most days. Going to the gym and exercising fell to the wayside for me after entering a PTSD treatment program and being on so many meds that caused me to gain weight. With a wife and kids a gym membership was financially out of the question for me as well as I don't leave the house without my wife, but with the support of Catch A Lift Fund they have made it possible for my wife, who is my caregiver, and myself to get to the gym so that I can become a more healthy me again. It is still very hard to go and be around people, especially fit, healthy people but I am trying and I thank CAL for the opportunity! THANK YOU!
Catch A Lift became a motivator and encouraged me to become physically active after nearly three years of losing interests in my physical health due to several physical and mental disabilities. After returning home from combat and separating from the Marine Corps; I lost interest and did not understand the reason. Learning about Catch A Lift, and how a fellow service member had began such an amazing organization; I pushed myself to setting physical goals and get back in shape. My health has improved as well as the relationship with my children. I have become more physically active with my children, and they enjoy seeing their father join them in some physical activities. I introduce fellow veterans to Catch A Lift; and they have also benefited in abundance from this organization. Thank you Chritopher Coffland Memorial Fund for creating Catch A Lift Fund. Semper Fidelis.
I'm a combat veteran who is surviving on disability benefits. Due to a lot of the medications I'm on for PTSD and chronic pain issues I have put on a lot of weight. Catch a Lift helped me by paying for a gym membership for me and my caregiver so I can try and get back into good health.
Without the help of the Christopher Coffland Memorial Fund I would not be able to afford this luxury. I am thankful that Catch a lift was willing and able to help me.
Since I got injured in Afghanistan and after 7 reconstructive surgeries and a ton of medication for pain, steroids, etc. it was really hard for me to get to a gym or work out. Since Catch a Lift decided to help me with gym equipment, my health is improving, losing 21 pounds and generally feeling better about myself. I will always be grateful to them for helping me coming out of a black hole. Thanks Catch a Lift!!!
Catch A Lift has renewed my trust in American Society, that there are people out there who really care about Veterans. When I was first injured in 2011, I was so dependent upon others to care for me due to the injuries sustained. Having my own In home gym. Has allowed me to regain some of my independence and getting stronger day by day. When it comes to losing your independence, that's a hard challenge for Veterans. Regaining that is the most important mission to any able Veteran. Catch A Lift Fund, I SFC(R) Smith salute you for what you do to make life challenging and better for Veterans.
Great organization, helps veterans who are unable to afford a membership to a gym get into a gym to help them get in shape and be more active. Like myself, weight training helps with stress and health and overall well being for veterans.
I was injured in Iraq in 2003, and with all the things I have wrong with me it is hard to be able to do things alone. CAL, funded a one year membership to a gym for myself and my caregiver, so that I could get back in the gym and just to be more active. Thank you CAL.
CAL has been the first nonprofit organization I ever benefitted from. The gym membership provided to me by this benefactor has served as an outlet for me to continue a healthy lifestyle and a positive outlook. I am greateful to Christopher Coffland's Memorial Fund and the selfless work they do for our nations Vets.
CAL is a great organization that is helping many wounded veterans! They have given me the equipment to rejuvenate my life and keep me healthy. Thank you very much for your generosity.
A combat wounded veteran.
CAL was awesome and getting me some home gym equipment. I'm a disabled vet with physical and psychological injuries very hard for me to go out into the public so by CAL providing me home equipment I am able to continue my physical fitness and improve my body and my mind. CAL is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. I think them and think of them every day when I work out.
As a wounded warrior this foundation gave me a new lease on life and encouraged a way forward. Words cannot express my gratitude.

I am a combat veteran who due to many health issues, to include severe/chronic PTSD. After several lengthy tours to the Middle-East, I became a person who was emotionally u recognizable to family and friends. Isolation became my best friend and anxiety was paramount. As a person who had always maintained a high-level of physical fitness, my newfound issues did not allow fitness to be an option. That was when "Catch A Lift" was introduced to me by a friend and fellow veteran. This organization purchased me a gym membership near my house and encouraged me to become physically active. Through this act of kindness, I am daily becoming physically and emotionally stronger. I cannot express how monumental this organization and their caring team have been to my journey to recovery and better health. I will be forever grateful. Jasmin Skelton
Unbelievable! That's how I feel about CAL. They truly love veterans and America!!
Why is this non-profit doing what the military and VA can't? So many positive health benefits by working out, and CAL is making it happen. They are truly caring for veterans by giving them the opportunity to self improve with out meds, co-pays or bureaucracy. CAL makes it happen for both the veteran AND caregivers!
I am a former Marine and retired Army Infantryman with too many boring disabilities to name. CAL has helped me come out of a dark place and motivated me to drive on and try to get back to the fitness level I was at before being Medically Retired. I can honestly say that Lynn Coffland is here to help veterans in any way she can. Very happy with this organization! Thanks much!
This is one of the best nonprofit opportunities for veterans that I've found. The organization fits both vets that are unable to leave the house by providing equipment, and those that can get out by providing a gym membership for a year. The process to getting the benefits of the Christopher Coffland Memorial Fund was easy to navigate and on a different note, I appreciate that they send emails to all of us on all veteran-related holidays. They never forget us. I'm glad I found them and appreciative of all they've done for me.
I'm an Army combat veteran. At the beginning of this year I started going down hill with my depression and PTSD hitting me like it never has before. I lost 35 lbs and did not want to live anymore. Thanks to Catch a lift I was able to get back into the fitness part of my life that I used to enjoy before. CAL helped me find my passion for fitness again and more importantly it helped me ease some of the pain by helping me get out of the house and do something. I could not have done it without their help. Thank you so much
These guys are awesome. I really liked how they give you the option of in home gym or the gym membership. With having the in home gym I have other veterans that I served with apply for the program. They are able to see with there own eyes that non profits like this do exist for combat veterans. This is all positive, they worked fast and kept me updated on my status for the equipment. Which by the way is really good quality stuff, no issues since I recieved it back in December 2014.

I am a family member to a combat wounded veteran. Catch a Lift has fueled my veteran's success. My vet had his left leg amputated due to an IED in Afghanistan. He left the hospital physically weaker and had lost 15 pounds. Catch a Lift enabled him to begin physically training in a gym the day he was physically able to again. He has since flourished in his personal endeavors and careers, and that is thanks to Catch a Lift. Thank you all for pushing him to reach his full potential.
CAL is the only non-profit among the 46,000 NPs dedicated to supporting veterans that exclusively focuses on the physical well being.
I have been able to mend psychologically and emotionally as a result of CAL. I am profoundly grateful to all those involved- especially Lynn- for creating this organization that has in turn affected the lives of thousands of vets who would otherwise not be able to heal physically if not for CAL's generosity.
I am a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan and served on the same Task Force as Chris Coffland.
Hello, Since becoming part of CAL I have been able to find recovery and become part of a great community who empowers me to strive for a more healthier life style. I was injured twice during OEF 12' and I thought I was never going to be able to be that physical fit soldier I once was but with an organization like CAL I am able to move though the barriers that once kept me from exceling in my transition back into civilian life. I am glad to say that I have lost over 10lbs and will continue to do so.
Thank you CAL.
After becoming disabled in the line of duty serving my country, I was very limited on what kind of physical exercise I could do to stay healthy and got overwieght, CAF provided me the tools to get back on track and get back in to that healthy life style of getting back in to shape.
CAL is has helped me in ways no counselor or Dr. can. They gave me the chance to get my life back on track with fitness. Any organization that is willing to help a veteran is worthy of praise. CAL is a great organization that made it easy for me to utilize their service. Keep up the great work CAL!!!
Catch A Lift Fund has help me on my road to recovery. I suffer from PTSD and it is not always easy to be around people. Catch A Lift Fund has made it so, that I am now accountable for continuing my road to recovery. Not everyone is able to receive a gym membership due to lack of funds (I.e. people need to donate more). I make sure I go to the gym every day even if I just stretch, so I do not waste the membership I received. I tell myself every single day another service member waiting to receive membership from Catch A Lift Fund could enjoy this so do not waste this opportunity. I really believe in this charity and I hope that it will continue for a long time to come. P. S. I wish there were more stars to rate this charity.
My spouse, a paralyzed veteran, has benefited greatly from the CAL program. Working out was an activity that he enjoyed before his injury & thanks to CAL he still can. The organization is easy to work with, professional & friendly. I highly recommend CAL.
As a combat veteran it's refreshing to see that organizations like these exist specifically to help wounded warriors. Thanks to Catch a lift I'm able to combat my PTSD by practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and get my mind off, of the past and in to present. Thank you catch a lift
Catch A Lift helped me recover after losing all of my belongings in a flood.
As soon as I settled my issues from the flood, my home was filled with a brand new fitness center.
I am 100% disabled and my home gym is one of the most important pieces of my healing.
As I recover from wounds sustained in combat, Catch A Lift has been with me every step of the way.
Thank you Catch A Lift. I am forever grateful.

CAL has made a significant impact on my recovery from wounds suffered while serving in Iraq. After being in and out of medical treatment for so long, I lost the motivation to stay in good physical shape. Without CAL, I wouldn't have got back in the gym. CAL has made it possible for combat vets to improve their physical well-being while continuing to fight for a new mission.

I was able to get a weight set from CAL and that just boosted my moral and got me motivated to feel better about myself. It has truly helped me out. Thank you!
The collaborative efforts of Catch a Lift and other nonprofits helped me make it to the 2015 Warrior Games this year. I didn't medal in any of the events I participated in - but just being part of the Games was an awesome accomplishment. My journey started in 2008 when I retired - retreating from life, family, and society - heavily medicated by the VA - I had lost my drive for anything but sleeping. Getting out of bed and brushing my teeth was an accomplishment 2008-2010. Their have been several nonprofits that helped me along the way - some more significant than others - Catch a Lift is near the top of the list.
I am very happy with the equipment I received from Catch A Lift fund, and I completely support what they do for veterans. One thing I wish they may focus on in the future is getting to know the veterans they support. If it's a wellness check before or after, or a casual contact to help find the goals of the veteran and what equipment may better suit the veteran in need.
Please, don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for what they have done for me and the many veterans before and after me. The equipment they provided for me fills the void of therapy I can do at home instead of my weekly VA PT sessions. I can see how this service will help veterans with physical limitations and those who suffer from many other types. Maybe it's just because I just recently received mine (less than 40 days) and their may be more to come, but I would like to receive something to know that everything went well and is on the right path.
Catch A Lift has definitely made things easier for me and more motivated for me to improve my way of life. I wish I could personally thank you and hope I get the chance. Thanks.
Catch A Lift has made a positive change In my life. They helped me purchase a bike and now I am able to exercise on a regular bases. Biking has given me a new hobby and a great way to relax and start to enjoy life again.
I am a very happy with what Catch A Lift Fund was able to do for me. I was able to receive a weight set, bench and a few other items which started my path to a healthier lifestyle. I can only thank them so much for the equipment and hope that they are able to continue to help other Veterans with disabilities.
CAL is one of the non-profits that walks the walk. They have a passion for us (veterans) and active duty. They care and as one the recipients of this program, I have not only lost weight but after my experiences in the Marine Corps I was nursing cursing and rehearsing my wounds. I got out of that and I was able to build my mind and body through catch a lift. Got to love em.

Catch-a-Lift has offered me a chance to gain back my health. I am grateful for their assistance, they even offered my wife a membership as well so that I would have a gym partner!
I found out about this organization through another dear veteran. I can't believe the positive change it has had in my life, i truly am grateful for all that they do. I couldn't thank them enough they are a true blessing to all us veterans.
Catch a Lift has changed my life in such a positive light. I am beyond grateful for this Nonprofit organization. It has gotten me back in the gym and exercising again and also gives me a great support network in the Veterans it serves and the staff that is Catch a Lift.
I am an Afghanistan war veteran. While I did not suffer any physical injuries, I faced mental ones! The PTSD can be handled and controlled most days. I found out about CAL Fund through some other veterans and I figured it was worth a try. I wasn't interested in the gym membership or the in home gym equipment, so when I found out that they would help me to get a road bike I was extremely excited. I have found that riding is a good way to clear you mind and to let all of the troubles go away. CAL Fund gave me that opportunity. I recommend this organization to all new vets that I meet whether they are interested in the gym memberships or the inhome equipment or even a bike!
Thank you Catch a Lift for the giving me the opportunity to help make my life a little easier!
Catch a lift fund is an amazing organization who helped me by getting back in shape. They purchased a home gym for me. I now workout everyday it's a way I counsel my emotions, anger and PTSD. Thank you C.A.L.F godless
I found CATCHALIFT when i began my journey to finding my physical fitness. PTSD had completely taken over my personal life and I needed the motivation and insperation to move forward in my fitness endeavors. Thank you CLF for lovinging the warriors you serve as we appreciate you more than you can possibly imagine. True blessing to veterans and their families.
Catch lift a real blessing. They took a tragic situation and turned one hero's passion and turned it into a way for us wounded and disabled veterans to recover and get the strength back that we had in our days in uniform. Thank you so much! KEEP IT REAL!

They have been great. They are the reason I started going back to the gym and getting in shape. Made me realize how much I missed it, and despite missing limbs their is still a ton of exercises I can still do. Great for the body and the Mind, Thank You.

I had not been back to the gym since being injured in Iraq in 2005. this great organization paid for my gym membership and made me feel like it was OK to try going back even though I was now missing a leg, which I was apprehensive about. after a year I love going to the gym got back in shape enjoy it as a stress relief and found out how many exercises I actually am still able to do. Thank you Catch A Lift.
Great organization. Have been down and out about my health for a while. But with the support of Catch A Lift and the gym pass they provide, I've been going to the gym and feeling better about myself physically and mentally.
This organization is nothing short of amazing. They have gone above and beyond to help out veterans.
Amazing organization!!! They have enabled me and many other disabled veterans to pusue out fitness goals.
Catchalift is a great program. Both of my knees are injured and with all the meds I am taking for PTSD I have gained a significant amount of weight. But Catchalift has given me the opportunity to slowly start working out due to my limitations.
I'm a Marine combat veteran and I'm a full-time student. Living on a fix budget can put a limit on some of the things you use to enjoy. For me, it was working out. When i was in the military i used the gym to help maintain my fitness level. Now i use it to help my mind and body feel strong. It helps me control some of the symptoms that comes along with PTSD. Gym memberships can be expensive, but the Catch A Lift fund made everything so easy. I am able to focus know school and still maintain my fitness level, without the financial burden. I am so thankfull for the people there who helped me. The process can take a little time, but when everything is done. It makes everything so much easier. To all of the men and women at Catch A Lift, thank you
What an amazing opportunity CAL gave up. We got a one year YMCA family membership to the way which made us have a year of experiences of swim lessons and sports that wouldn't have happened without them! We are so appreciative and can't thank them enough for this opportunity!
The CAL foundation has dramatically altered my life in ways I could have only dreamed about in the years past. I am a veteran of the war in Iraq and I was injured and had to undergo brain surgery in 2013. After the surgery my health condition plummeted because the pain I suffer and the constant anxiety I feel when leaving my home. Cal set me the proper equipment to limit the impact on my injuries and provided me with a safe environment that I could utilize to improve my physical shortcomings. The stress free environment allows for me to concentrate on my workout and not be distracted by my hyper-vigilance when trying to exercise in public places, around strangers.
These folks have gone above and beyond to make sure that all of the equipment I received were quality and personalized for me.
I now have the opportunity to be a good example for my son's life and also get to improve my quality of life every day.
My life would not be as great as it is today had it not been for CAL. My family and I love the people there and from the bottom of our hearts could not thank them enough for what they did for us. Thank you Cal!
This is an amazing organization. Have me a home gym and promptly. They were very nice and deeply care for Americas veterans. I lost weight and accomplished some physical goals with their help. +A organization.

Great company. The process can take a little time, however once approved everything happened really quick. I am a Army vet thats 90 percent disabled. I can say thank you enough to Catch a lift. Life Changers!!!
One of the most useful and amazing organizations I've been a part of. It was and continues to be a blessing in my life.
I found out about Catch A Lift through my Recovery Care Coordinator before I medically retired from the Marine Corps. I was explained that it was a great opportunity to continue my physical therapy plan and better my health by joining a program that was intended to help veterans with little resources to procure a gym membership, I applied and through the process I received updates on my application status until it was approved, the process was simple and thorough, I felt and still feel grateful for the donations that make this program successful, health is wealth, I have recommended this program to other wounded warriors as well, some with greater needs due to their mobility handicaps, and they were able to receive the assistance as well for home equipment that has better their quality of life. Thank you!
Catch a Lift is a great organization that helped me get back in shape. After being medically retired from the Army I contacted them and they sent me a stationary bike. Excersize really helps me with many of my disabilities and I live a better life today!!
CAL is an amazing charity that had helped my husband (severely disabled Army vet) and myself as his caregiver. My husband cannot go to the gym because of his PTSD and TBI. CAL gave us a home gym that has allowed us both to work out. This is doing wonders for not only our health but also for my husbands mood and recovery. We couldn't have afforded this equiptment on our own and we are so incredibly thankful for all they have done for us. -The Starks Family

Catch a Lift Fund is an amazing organization. They gave me and my husband (he's a disabled vet and I'm his caregiver) a home gym that allowed us both to work out and get back into shape. My husband has severe PTSD after being injured in Iraq and cannot go to a public gym. Being able to go in our garage and work out has lowered both of our stress levels and really helped us. We wouldn't have been able to get the equipment without Catch A Lift and we are so incredibly thankful. They are wonderful.
I applied and went through the process of verification and validation. The program is awesome, the only drawback was initially I waited about 2 weeks, and then I was contacted after I emailed again. Must have gotten deleted or something, because every time afterwards they followed up and were very informative about my status and the help they could provide. I received my gym as scheduled and had the delivery man call and get a time that I was going to be home because of the weight of the equipment. I have panic attacks and just couldn't be in the gym working out, I mean I tried but it wasn't worth the gain, by getting freaked out. They recommended a gym and offered continued support in my aspirations to get back to normal. Although that will never fully happen, this has given me the opportunity to stay more physically active than I have been able to in more than 10 years. I use the equipment with both my sons, and it has turned into a bonding event. We sit and talk in between reps and have a better foundation and something that we can all do together. Unfortunately my eldest is going to college, so I will miss that part of it, but it has been great to have some personal freedom in my own home versus having to make a trek to the gym. This year I am going to try and get a membership and go back to the gym as I think I have started to understand the triggers, and have different coping skills. This organization has been wonderful and has kept in contact with me to follow up with my injuries and my continued success in my physical well being.
Catch-A-Lift is a great organization. Not only did they help me out in getting a home gym to become a healthy person again, when I ran into an issue with one of the equipment machines they were there every step of the way. They even sent me some extras which they didn't have too. Goes to show you how amazing this organization is and how much they love their veterans.
This organization is amazing. Extremely helpful and provided everything I could have asked for. Thank you, Catch A Lift! Five of Five stars.
When I heard about this program from another veteran I was estatic. Not only did it help me get back in shape but it boosted my motivation as well. This is a good program for veterans
Catch-A-Lift doesn't operate as a non-profit, more like a well oiled machine that takes a humanistic approach to it's services. It's not a fill-out-a-form-and-get-your-goods-and-services type of non-profit. More like a we-want-to-know-YOU-and-help-YOU type of non-profit. I was streamlined directly to the owner, Lynn, which speaks volumes alone. Lynn "keeps it real" and adds a personal touch to everything she does. I haven't worked with a business that is so personable and so helpful. Lynn and everybody at CAL are truly blessings who don't just talk the talk, but walk the walk.
I am a veteran of Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq where I flew on med-evac missions with the Air Force in 2003-2004. Since a back and knee injuries, and my diagnosis of PTSD, I moved up to a small mountain community here in Southern California. There are no real gyms within a decent distance from me so I asked Catch A Lift Fund for a bench press for my home and THEY JUST GAVE ME ONE! I am so pleased with this non-profit and the staff that I had to share. I've been passing out their applications to other members of my OEF/OIF PTSD group at the VA. They really help us have the opportunity to improve ourselves and get back in shape. It is with sadness that their family member, Chris Coffland, passed away overseas, but it is with joy that the family has turned around and decided to help many other veterans. THANK YOU Catch A Lift Fund!
I'm just getting started with this organization and I have zero complaints whatsoever. They are great people and they do great things. I live in the middle of nowhere and with a spinal injury from 5 years ago its a bit difficult for me to go and do many things and I have difficulty exercising. I heard about this organization through my Wounded Warrior advocate. I applied to receive gym equipment in my home and honestly didn't expect much of anything to happen at all. A few months went by and I had forgotten about applying so I went on with my normal routine of not doing much. I suddenly received a reply saying I was approved for a grant to receive in-home gym equipment. I was wonderfully surprised and excited to say the least. The process of ordering it was very quick and easy to do and the staff I talked to on the phone were very helpful and courteous at all times. I called with some questions for Lynn and she was very professional and knowledgeable. The same night I sent in my order form and the next day I received an email letting me know it was on order and should arrive in about 2 weeks. So far I'm very impressed and I can't wait to receive my equipment to begin my exercise therapy and back onto the road to being back in shape again after all these years. Thank you so much for everything you do for us and thank you for your help and assistance. I can't wait to get started
I am in my 2nd year with Catch A Lift and I am very thankful for the work that they do for Combat Wounded Veterans! They completely paid for my 1st years Gym membership with LA Fitness and for my 2nd year I opted to have them help me setup a Home Gym. The equipment that they sent is top quality and brand new! I am looking forward to meeting this years fitness goals. I always tell fellow Veterans about Catch A Lift and the wonderful work that Lynn Coffland does to honor her Brothers service and spirit of Physical Fitness.
The program has giving me a great inspiration to look beyond being a wounded warrior.
Thanks again Catch a lift!
THANK YOU Catch A Lift CAL for all that you do. I am EXTREMELY grateful for your selfless service. If you are wanting to support those that served, CAL is a straight up, no frills, no gimmicks organization.

Recently I've just cycling and through various events held by organizations veterans have talked about finding a gym and a years membership would be paid to improve physical and mental toughness. So I finally received this organizations name and filled out all required docs and sent required docs that were asked. Right away within 24 hours I was approved and within a 72 hours I was told that there was a waiting list and that all applicants would be service in the order of receiving the applicants. They were very knowledge based on what to expect and what was expected of you once your grant was given. I've never been so grateful in my life that an organization exist for a gym lifestyle. They still continue to amaze me till this day even through recovery periods of understanding, I had to take off. Your expectations will be demolished and blown away because they are 110% behind every step of the way. God Bless these people but more so God Bless the service member it has been remembered for and his family. Even though our brother is resting peacefully he still finds ways to help his brothers carry on and continue to fight. The phase from him is catchy and now I find myself saying it all the time. Well later brothers, "I'm going To-Catch-A-Lift"
CAL does so many things right. In addition to setting veterans up with a gym memberships or home equipment, they also keep tabs periodically to make sure you have what you need, and they follow up to make sure you stay on track to achieving your goals. They also look out for the caregivers, which is hugely important as they also need to take time to care for themselves. CAL has also started a new initiative to further enhance the lives of wounded veterans by connecting local CAL members for workouts, fitness events and community activities, which helps build camaraderie between the veterans and raise awareness for this amazing organization.
A year ago I would have never guessed I'd be where I am today. I walked into a gym for the first time in years because I had become unhappy with what was looking back at me in the mirror. I am still fighting to get where I want to be as far as my weight goes, but have made huge leaps in my mobility and strength. It was a struggle to do multiple body weight squats, much less use my knees, shoulders, or back to carry something heavy. Fast forward to one year later and I'm able to deadlift 400+ pounds, and have increased my mobility greatly. This is all thanks to your organization's mission to help us better ourselves. There's no way I can ever truly thank you, so I'll try to do so by continuing to push forward in my training and helping other Veterans find their way as well.
As a fellow former crew member of the WWII Aircraft Carrier (CVA-11) , I give praise and high regard for fellow Intrepid shipmate Dave Coffland, for initiation this Christopher Coffland Memorial Fund on behalf of his son, and for all those Wounded Warriors that qualify for this great program. Let us ALL ... Not Forget All Military Service Personnel who have given their all, in service of their country. - John Simonetti, Past President, USS Intrepid Association, Inc., '03-'05
Catch A Lift helped me at my lowest and continues to support me. They made it hassle free and took care of all my needs with the gym for me. I suffer from PTSD and traumatic Brain Injury and could not pay for gym membership services. CAL came in and changed my life with this great opportunity. I have lost 25lbs since I have been a part of this great organization. Thank you for saving my life.
CAL has been the most caring and supporting organization I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They went over and beyond customer service and form a somewhat personal relationship with me. The many people I dealt with at CAL have been so amazing!! I can't put it into words. With my new home gym, I am now on the right track to my fitness goals.
THANKS CATCH-A-LIFT!!!
Being physically and mentally strong has always been a priority in my life. Being able to keep my physical strength over the past few years has helped me become stronger and recover from my injuries. Thanks to Catch-A- Lift, they have made it possible for me to continue to do exactly this. Having a gym membership to my local gym has made it so easy for me to workout and maintain my strength. Not only has it helped me physically; it has also helped me mentally. Throughout my life I have always played basketball, I played while I was in High School and during my free time in the Army. One of my biggest recovery tools was the motivation to get back on the court and play again. While at Walter Reed Army Medical Center I would always shoot around a play in small pick-up games. Over the past three years at LA Fitness I have been able to get back to the player I use to be. No one looks at me as the “one legged” guy, instead they look at me as just one the other players. I have built great friendships while at LA Fitness and I look forward to continuing them thanks to Catch-A-Lift.
Like many vets after I got out of the serivce I focused on recovery and taking the step in life with family, education career etc. No where in my priorities was physical fitness, until I went to the VA and they took my blood Pressure 3 times and had me lie down for 20 mins then take it again. My VA doctor conducted a quick check up and told me that my BP was unusally high. After a long conversation both my doctor and I concluded that hyper tension and poor diet was the result. I was 60 .LBS overweight and consired obese. This was a tough blow considering when I was in the Army I scored 300+ on my PT test's consecutively!
I am student and have a family that lives on a budget, so homemade PT was my only option. Until a fellow vet told me about Catch a Lift (CAL) Fund. I applied for the scholarship and was awarded a one year membership to a gym of my choice. SO, for my sins I choose a Cross-fit Gym to join. I will not lie, for the first month I felt like I was beaten with a base ball bat! However the with the support of the coaches that REFUSE to see you do less than your best. The workout have become not easier, but more manageable and to some degree fun.
I am so blessed to had been given this opportunity given by CAL. This is a great orginazation that has a great story, mission and vision.
Thank you Catch a Lift Fund for all you do!
Awesome Organization that helped me out this past 12 months.
I can't express into words how they helped my mental as well as my physical well being.
Thank you!
Catch-a-lift has been the most supportive and amazing organization that i have had the pleasure to be a client of. They were very friendly and always willing to take time out their day to help me along with the process no matter how big or small my questions were. I had gained so much weight from being depressed and unable to do much but lay in bed and knowing that catch-a-lift was there to help me with my goals of losing weight and being healthy made me feel like i can do it. With their assistance and their donation of a gym for my house i was able to lose almost 15 pounds so far and it been an amazing journey and i know that they will be there helping me improve and continue to assist me with all their support. I am thankful each day that they have helped me so much in my journey of health and fitness and to me that means so much to know that there are people out there that care and want to help wounded veterans find a reason to succeed in life and our goals that we have set for ourselves. Thank you Catch-a-Lift for everything you have done for me and my family and i will continue to do my best to make you proud!!!
Sincerely
VR
Such nice and friendly people! They got me into a gym quickly!
I heard about the Catch a Lift fund from a friend. I was just starting to get back into training because I've gained so much weight since EAS.
This fund lifts a huge weight off of my shoulders, because they are taking care of my membership fees. My wife is also my certified VA caregiver, and she helps keep me on track of going to train, so CAL agreed to pay her fees too! WOW!
It also helps that they kind of make you take an "oath" to make sure you train 3 times per week. This oath helps motivates me. Before, I would always break the resolutions I'd make to myself, but now that I've made a commitment to this organization I feel obligated to go train, and that's a good thing.
Me not wanting to feel like I'm taking advantage of this program will help me get back to better health. It's a win win!
Catch a lift foundation is an amazing organization to help veterans Rehabilitate themselves with fitness. They have given us the option to revieve equipment in the comfort of our own homes or workout in a fitness facility. My PTSD restricts me from leaving my house and being people I don't know. They gave me the opportunity to workout in my comfort zone and I am forever grateful.
CAL helped me with a gym membership. After the last 4 or so years of being depressed and in bad health and finances, the gym gave me the motivation and inspiration I needed to get back on track. I am now debt free and back in college trying to finish my degree.
Since I have been medically retired from the Army last year I have been struggling with my disabilities to stay physically fit and active just knowing that there are others out there just like me who are still fighting still beating the odds and pushing past what they were told they could never do again defying all odds is an inspiration to me my brothers in arms are what drive me everyday thank you CAL for giving me this chance
I am so glad to have received my home gym. I have PTSD and many other war related ailments making it hard or impossible to get out sometimes. Thanks to Catch A Lift I am able to recover from certain injuries and motivate myself to be the strong man I was years ago. I have much more confidence and happiness in and with myself. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity and it is great to know others will benefit the same way I am daily.

I medical discharge from the Army due to my combat related injuries. I applied to "Catch a Lift Fund" so I can go back to the gym and better myself from the injuries I sustained while deployed. I most say since I've been going back to the gym I've been getting better from my injuries and mentally. I also have met a couple of wonder warrior that are being sponsor also by "Catch a lift". This is by far one of the best organization out there that truly supports the wounded warrior. I'm very happy and lucky for such an organization to be out there helping wounded warriors daily.
Thank you so much "Catch a List" My family and I honored you.
I lost my leg in Afghanistan.
Catch a Lift helped me get back on my feet (pun intended) and get healthy.
I went from 175 to 200 pounds (good weight) thanks to catch a lift. Being able to hit the gym has made me better.
Catch A Lift has provided me the opportunity to join a gym less than two miles from my house. It's been a great way to stay fit both physically and mentally. I am very grateful for their support.
The Catch A Lift fund is an awesome organization for veterans and their families! As a disabled female veteran who served 9 1/2 years in the Army and a deployment to Iraq, I found that many so called non profits for veterans wouldn't help me. CAL purchased a year long gym membership for me, my husband and 3 children! Who does that! These are truly kind people who want to get veterans and their families back to health. My personal situation doesn't allow me to have childcare and Mrs. Coffland made sure to get me a gym membership which covered childcare for my three children. Thank you so much Catch A Lift! Forever grateful!
I am a Wounded Warrior that struggles with depression and PTSD. I recently got out of the military and am on a strict budget. I wanted to get a gym membership, but couldn't afford the cost. Catch A Lift paid for my gym membership and now I'm able to continue with my workouts, which help me with my depression and overcoming social anxiety linked to my PTSD. Catch A Lift has transformed my life by providing me with a gym membership!!
I am a disabled veteran who was injured by a mortar attack in Iraq. I find it very difficult to walk or exercise and my income is limited to disability pay. With the many surgeries, treatments, and medications my overall health and body shape became worse and worse. Catch a Lift (CAL) fund was there for me. CAL purchased a year membership for me and my spouse, as I cannot participate without an assistant, at a local physical fitness facility. A facility with a trainer who specifically had experience with working with those with disabilities. It really improved my overall mood and health. I only wish I could do more than say thank you.
After 5 years in the U.S. Army as a Airborne Infantry with a few different deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan, then going to being a Disable Vet is some what a hit, This company has help me get in to a gym that I would never be able to do financially, I am at a gym that has gotten me out of my small world and interacting with people out side of the veteran comunity. This has given me something to look forward to during that week. CAL was recommend to me by another Vet. I looked in to it and liked what I have seen with them. I love that I am able to get ahold of them very fast and they we quick to get back to me If they miss my call and or email, The process to start this hole thing was very fast after and to the pint with them witch was great! This has been handes down the best Vet company that I have had the pleasure to working with.
(32) I'm a disabled military veteran. SoCal has helped me transition back into civilian life comfortably without fear. Through a gym membership the fund has enabled me to improve myself physically and most important emotionally. My fitness facility provides a healthy environment that lets me recognize the simple joys of life again.
CAL just got my wife and I back into the gym. We use this time as couples counseling and healing for our relationship and for my PTSD. Its a good start and its only the begining. Thank yoy CAL!!!!!!!!!
Catch-A-Lift has been an absolutely amazing blessing in my life! With my injuries from Iraq and Afghanistan, coupled with PTSD, I only leave the house for medical appointments, and even that induces severe panic attacks. With the equipment donated through Catch-A-Lift, I have been able to begin a working out from the safety and comfort of my home. They have given me the opportunity to start getting back into shape (as much as my disabilities allow). I have had the equipment for just five weeks and have already seen a huge improvement. I have been able to strengthen muscles to help assist with my mobility, and I have also lost almost 15 pounds. Thank you so very much!
Since leaving the Army i have had a lot of struggles dealing with PTSD and many other issues. With the equipment that i received from CAL i have begun to feel better about myself and over all it has helped to improve my self esteem, and daily PTSD struggles. Thank you CAL for everything!!!
Being a disabled Vet comes with a lot of issues that generally degrade your health including obesity, heart disease, blood pressure issues and depression. Catch a Lift fights that by promoting healthy lifestyles for those of us who wouldn't otherwise be able to for a number of reasons. It's helped myself and my family to become more active and given me a bit more drive to keep healthy and fit.
CAL has helped me to reconnect with my community. I was unable to afford the overhead of a gym membership after being medically retired from the Army, CAL has been generous enough to pay forward a years membership!!
CAL has helped me regain confidence in myself and heal through the therapy of excercise. Since my elliptical arrived I have noticed that my stress level has reduced greatly and I've lost 13 lbs for an added bonus.
As a disabled veteran I had a difficult time getting back into the gym because of my issues with ptsd and self esteem, but CAL gave me the opportunity to start working out again and get on a track to better health and better self esteem, They help get disabled veterans back in the gym or working out of their house and doing and enjoying something truly positive.
As a disabled veteran I have had plenty of experience working with non profit organizations and CAL is one of the best ones out there. They help get disabled veterans back in the gym and doing something truly positive.
Awesome Nonprofit Organization! they have helped me getting back into the gym where I can get back in shape and improve my strenght/mobility. Thanks to them I am attending one of the top gyms in teh Florida area. They have a great environment for us Vets with disabilities and many programs that we can use to improve. The Christopher Coffland Memorial Fund Inc. is a blessing sent from above for Vets like me with service connected disabilities. Thank you!
The Christopher Coffland Memorial Fund is amazing! My husband is 100% disabled and had very little energy most days. Definitely not enough to go to a gym and work out. The fund got him a home gym that he has been able to build up his stamina and his energy on his schedule. Five minutes here and five minutes there over the day have increased his energy levels so much! To top it off I was given a membership to a local gym because I am his caregiver. That is something I never expected but has been such an amazing stress relief for me. I'm getting back in shape, he is building up his energy and stamina and we both couldn't be happier about it. Thank you so much!
One other thing, this was such a simple process, the ladies were fantastic that I worked with and I highly recommend anyone who qualifies to apply for services.
This is one the best programs, they do as much work as possible and provide a great service to veterans recovering from disabilities. The staff works hard and does their best to take care of everyone, even though they are understaffed for the amount of paperwork they receive.
This fund and the people that run it are amazing. With 70% to 80% of all funds raised going directly to wounded combat veterans I am so glad a friend made me aware of this organization. Being able to see how sending a vet to a gym or giving them in-home equipment has changed the lives of these wounded vets has changed my perspective on the challenges these vets face. Their stories of bravery, dedication to country and their willingness to not let their injury stop them is inspiring.
Please donate and/or get involved, it will change you for the better.
