Mission: Cat tales rescue is an all volunteer-based, non-profit organization committed to reducing the homeless, unwanted, and feral cat population in solano county through promoting low-cost spay/neuter options and educating the public on the importance of spay/neutering pets. We advocate tho benefits of tnr to control over population and maintain good health of feral cat colonies and educate the public about tnr and proper feral colony management. I adopted two rescue kittens from this organization. They extraordinarily professional, educated, and helpful. Both had some health issues at their foster parents, and issues were immediately communicated. Their medical information travelled with them, and we always felt fully informed. I follow them on Facebook, and it is incredibly clear how much love and attention they put in to what they do. If a kitten or cat has ANY chance of rehabilitation, this organization always puts in the work to try and get a positive outcome, even if that treatment requires a significant financial investment. I'm so grateful for the two happy, healthy, nearly year-old kitties we have thanks to Cat Tales Rescue.

Beware! We adopted two kittens from one of their shelters in Santa Rosa and we love both of our kitties but both of them have tested positve for ringworm, which we having been dealing with now since November. My son, myself and one of our dogs (so far) have all gotten ringworm as well which is proving to be extremely challenging to get rid of. Plus the cost of treating all of this is up to about 700$ so far, not to mention the amount of time and effort I have spent trying to rid our house of it. When I reached out to Kris the president of the organization) she said that she could only reimburse me 200$ because they are a non which is less then we actually paid for both of the Kittens. I repeat Ringworm is extremely challenging to get rid of..
Other red flags have been:
In the beginning when figured out our kitty had it (thanks to the giant ring on my sons chest) we had to take her to the preferred vet of the organization for tests. When I brought her in the vet tech made a comment to me stating that they had, had a slew of kittens from this organization die in the recents months of unknown causes.
Also when taking the kittens for vaccinations to one of their rescue centers in San Anselmo she had told me that at one point she had up to 60 kittens in her garage. I appreciate the work they are trying to do but I do believe that this company is in over their head and poorly managed. I suggest looking else where for a rescue center that has the act together a lot better. This one does not.

Cat Tales Rescue was tremendously helpful during the stay at home restrictions this summer. It was very difficult to find kittens in San Francisco and I came across their post on Craig’s List. I looked up their Facebook page and started a dialog with the organization. They were quick to respond and very, very nice. I said I wanted a gray tabby and a calico. They sent me lots of photos and videos to see what clicked. We chose two and they took care of the rest. Once my two were old enough, they were spayed and I picked them up at their foster families. I’ve stayed in touch and have supported their great work ever since. They are lovely volunteers who go the extra mile (especially for the kitties in distress). The head of the organization, Kris, is truly a saint and is saving countless lives. They deserve all good things that come their way.

How do you adopt a cat when you’ve just lost the kitty love of your life? I called around to several adoption organizations who seemed fixated on dumping an unwanted cat on me. But Cat Tales listened to my recent pain and treated me completely differently. During the pandemic they connected me with foster kitty parents who provided photos and videos so I could be perfectly matched (and it took about a month) with my two tuxedo siblings, a boy and a girl, who are now the joy of my life. I simply can not say enough about the amazing organization.

My children and I adopted an adult male cat from their Petco set-up approximately 4 months ago, his name was Sunshine and we were told he was around 2 years old. Shortly after getting him home he displayed heavy congestion and a trip to the vet indicated massive dental disease and that he was more like 8 years old. After dental surgery and 2 bouts of antibiotics we lost Sunshine yesterday to liver failure.

Although I am incredibly upset about the misleading information, obvious dental issues, and the unexpected $1500 expense, my kids and I are devastated by the loss of a cat we came to love very much.

I have tried emailing them which is useless because their email kicks back as undeliverable, I tried calling them but their mailbox was full and not accepting messages. I am starting to think this non-profit is a scam.

I'm not asking anything or expecting a response but what I do think is that the information the volunteers dispense to potential adoptees be more accurate and their actual health issues be disclosed. Information on their website states that these animals are fostered and have all seen a vet so their health should be transparent.

We would have adopted Sunshine anyway, even if we knew he was older and his teeth were bad, but at least we could have been better prepared.

Absolutely horrible people to work with. Even the vet they use is a joke.

When I last visited Fairfield, CA, I fell in LUV, with a all black cat and named him "Bucky". I was traveling in an RV, and he fit right in immediately with MissyMoo my other cat... (she is all all black), Moo is uptight and Bucky is laid back. But they get along, just great. I soon discovered that Bucky had a urinary problem but after time, treatment and a special diet, he is thriving and my favorite cuddle partner... Thanks to all the rescues to you ladies at Cat Tails undertake!
