Mission: Our mission is to empower abused and neglected children with a volunteer's voice in court by seeking a safe and permanent home for each child.
Programs: During 2016, casa of johnson and wyandotte counties served 436 children referred by the courts due to child abuse, neglect or other trauma that designated them as children in need of care. Casa mobilized 209 specially-trained volunteers who contributed 21,927 hours of advocacy to the children, in and outside of the court room. Working hand-in-hand with professional staff, casa advocates helped to assess and make recommendations for meeting the children's therapeutic, medical and educational needs. Of the 137 cases that were resolved in 2016, 90% of children found permanency through safe family reunification , adoption or permanent guardianship.
