I couldn't think of a better non-profit in the Cleveland area to volunteer for. Working on behalf of abused and neglected children is the most important work someone can do. The need in Cuyahoga County is great. Being a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and giving a child a voice is the most rewarding experience.
Being a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) has exposed me to the reality of the significant disadvantage that children in the juvenile justice system encounter on a regular basis. Child and Family Advocates of Cuyahoga County provides the necessary training and resources to ensure that there are highly qualified professionals, such as CASA volunteers and Guardians ad Litem (GALs) to represent the children involved in these cases of abuse and neglect. Being in this role has been the most rewarding and humbling volunteer experience I have ever had the privilege of engaging in.
Being a CASA volunteer and giving a child a voice in Court has been one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences. I became a CASA volunteer to serve my community and to ensure that children were being heard and advocated for. I am very thankful to be a part of this program and thankful for all the support from Child and Family Advocates of Cuyahoga County.
