Mission:
Our mission is to surround G.W. Carver Elementary students with mentors and other educational support through high school to help them reach their greatest potential.
Programs: Students at Carver Elementary School in the City of Richmond are matched with mentors from one of four local universities: Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Richmond, Virginia State University and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. Mentors meet with students weekly to work on academic goals that are defined in partnership with teachers. Currently, 248 students in grades 1-4 are being mentored at Carver Elementary School. Next year, all five grades will be served.
