Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development Programs
Mission: Carteret county partnership for children's mission is to inspire, support and advocate for young children and their families in the areas of health, education and child care.
Programs: Ratio reduction subsidy (2341-004): subsidizes child care facilities to offset the cost of reducing child/staff ratios. The program pays a monthly subsidy per child for infants, toddlers and two's in participating 4 and 5 star facilities.
child care resource and referral (3104): provides training and technical support to licensed and legally operating child care facilities. It coordinates training, provides individualized technical assistance to child care providers, and collects data concerning child care throughout the county. It identifies areas of need concerning child care and helps new facilities with issues concerning start-up. Ccr&r maintains a resource library at the partnership office that is available to both child care providers and the community.
early education outreach (3318): this is a part-day program located at the ccpfc office, will provide educational programming for children 0-3 years of age in an early preschool setting using the dcdee approved firefly curriculum (buttercups) and assessment tool that is aligned with north carolina's foundations for early learning and development. Parents will be provided with information and resources to encourage them to actively participate in their child's school experiences. The program will offer 6 individual preschool classes, meeting weekly consisting of 1. 5 hours of instructional learning per class. The program will operate 9 months of the year offering summer field trips, swim lessons and cpr classes, when budget allows.
