Programs: Homemaking and home health aides- provides personal care and housekeeping service to the elderly and disabled. Provided over 90,000 hours of services to eldery clients within the boston area. The agency was able to provide familiar and reliable assistance in a frail population that is constantly dealing with multiple losses of functional ability, independence and friends.
training - this program was set in place in response to an increasing need for peer homemakers who speak spanish and haitian creole. This program is additional training for homemakers whose primary language is not english and lack the conventional education necessary for the standard classroom training. Plans include additional training programs and broad collaboration with the community-based organizations in bostons urban neighborhoods. Provided 85 students with the completion of the training program.
friendly visitors- a program created to address the support and social needs of vulnerable, low-income elders and disabled citizens who are not eligible for adequate homecare.
