CareLink is a great organization with a noble mission. Like many nonprofits, they struggle with inadequate funding. CareLink operates many great programs, though some facilities were neglected for many years. In recent years, they made remarkable strides in putting funding into it's most valuable resource, the human capital. And, the agency has been investing significantly in its facilities and infrastructure. There is more work to do, but the agency has changed it's culture, most employees feel valued, wages are competitive, and the benefits are great, especially medical, tuition reimbursement and paid time off. I love working at CareLink and would recommend this agency to anyone with a desire and passion for working with the most vulnerable among us.

I do not know if it is worse for the residents or workers. Unsanitary work and living conditions, poor ventilation at STAR site; the facility is only cleaned thoroughly for inspections. Workers are not treated in a uniform way. Management is cool if you "ignore all of the holes in the walls", if you report concerns you will quickly become a target. Beware.

I am a long time board member of Carelink and proud of its many great achievements and the work and dedication of all of its employees and the management team. For over 50 years, Carelink has served the needs of those in our community with mental health challenges. Carelink is a model organization from all aspects and is respected by its peers, the governmental entities it provides services for, and the community at large. In terms of its employees many choose to work there for their entire career and turnover is extremely low compared to industry averages. The CEO and executive management team are competent, dedicated and passionate about their mission and work. My fellow board members bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the organization. I am proud to be associated with Carelink Community Support Services.

CareLink Community Support Services is an organization that survives solely on the work of underpaid direct service employees. The management and administration on the other hand, is out of touch and extremely unethical. The CEO of the organization views it after almost 30 years as her own personal playground, and cares more about getting to the Phillies Game, than being in her office and running the organization for which taxpayers, donors, and contract dollars pay her over $100,000 a year to do. The board of directors is lax, and composed of many of her good friends. They lead blindly without question of her work, salary, or high employee turnover rates. CareLink is a perfect example of how we have dropped the ball as donors and taxpayers in neglecting to hold leaders accountable, and writing checks to organizations no questions asked.
