I have been blessed to receive Food for several years. After receiving the food I began to run across people at my Senior Apt. Complex who were not able to cook meals for themselves due to temporary or permanent illnesses, so I believe I was prompted to help them out with meals I prepared from the Food I received from the Care For The Children Food Bank. It has become a very rewarding experience to be able to reach out and touch people's lives like this. I thank God for this opportunity to help others less fortunate or those going thru health issues. Thank you CFTC for making this possible!!
I'm pleased to support a worthy cause. Keep up the excellent work, and it's uplifting to see the positive impact you're making in people's lives through your social media presence.
My aunt is extremely pleased with the food box she receives from the CFTC food distribution program. Although hesitant at first due to feeling embarrassed , she now appreciates the service greatly. I want to commend the wonderful work Care For The Children does for the community. For anyone in need of assistance, this is the perfect place, and the staff are truly kind and supportive!
Care For The Children's food boxes have been a fantastic help to my grandmother! They are an invaluable resource for older adults and the community. Keep up the great work!
As a resident of Hacienda Heights, I recently had my curb number painted, and I also decided to make a donation to support care for the children. Upon visiting their website, I was pleased to see that they are dedicated to assisting the elderly. Although I am not typically inclined to write reviews, I have noticed that some people tend to complain about everything. It's important to remember that if you're not interested in donating or supporting a cause, you can simply refrain from doing so and keep your unwarranted comments to yourself. Let's not allow our personal biases to deter others from contributing to a worthy cause.

I recently had the opportunity to donate to the incredible work of Care For the Children through their curb painting initiative. It was an immensely fulfilling experience, and upon further investigation, I realized just how impactful and meaningful this organization's efforts are, particularly for the older adult population. As I delved deeper into their website and read other reviews, I couldn't help but feel grateful to be a part of something that benefits our seniors. It made me reflect on my mother and how fortunate we are not to require assistance now. However, knowing that an organization like Care For the Children exists to support older adults in need provides an invaluable peace of mind. I highly commend Care For the Children for their incredible work supporting seniors. Their commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of older adults is genuinely inspiring. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to such a noble cause, and I wholeheartedly recommend supporting this organization in any way possible. Thank you, Care For the Children, for your compassion, dedication, and the meaningful difference you make in the lives of seniors within our community. Keep up the fantastic work!
I want to thank Care for the Children for their participation in painting my curb. I was genuinely impressed by the volunteers' dedication to collecting donations and passionately explaining how these donations contribute to funding programs for older adults. While reading some other comments suggesting it may be a scam, I firmly believe each individual can decline to donate if uncertain. It is essential not to make assumptions based solely on personal points of view. In my case, they provided me with a permit, and I even did a follow-up on their website, reassuring me that my $25 contribution was making a real difference. Let's not allow comments reflecting someone's subjective opinion to discourage us from supporting a great cause.
I am delighted with the recently completed curb painting at one of my properties in Hacienda Heights. This much-needed project was long overdue, and I am grateful for the opportunity to support such a worthy cause through my donation.
I think this company is a scam, pressuring people into donating to their company by painting the curb while the resident is on vacation and not being able to stick the post-it note over their address number.
They were great, helped me out with some food when I needed it. Helped me out with some prayer when we needed that instead. They gave me food for my body and my soul
These are good people with what seems to be a good company. Their fundraising technique might need some work but in the end its all about the fact that they are helping seniors who need food. That's the bottom line. I don't see any other company delivering food to senior citizens. They have a good heart with good intentions. They even happen to paint a good number on my curb.
Good people, they helped out my parents. They delivered food when they needed it even during the lockdown. I give them props for that. I have had nothing but good experience with them. I can see that God is really working through them to help those in need right now.
They paint curbs to raise money for their senior's program. I was a little weary at first but turns out they were all right. they painted my curb and they signed me up for their "Food Baskets For Seniors Program". The name threw me for a little bit, call themselves Care For The Children but their feeding seniors. Apparently, they say we are all children in God's eye or we are all God's children or something like that. Either way, I was happy I met them. The Food they delivered to me these past few months has really helped me out a lot. No joke, no matter what they delivered all those groceries right to my door. Its really helped me get through all this craziness that's going on outside. Who what of thought... here come the curb painters to the rescue. lol. Thank you to them all.
During the heart of the pandemic, they never stopped delivering food to the Seniors. They truly were a lifeline. They work very hard for very little. Thank you Care For The Children

I appreciate what care for the children has been doing for my church. They provide a food pantry with many healthy options. Coming from a 1 income family care for a children is a blessing to my family. Thank you and may God continue to bless you as you blessed us.
This organization raises money by painting numbers on curbs in several cities. The money derived pays their overhead and the employees deliver free food boxes to very low income and homebound elderly every month. They are growing because they care. This is a play it forward organization. Kudo's to them and their work.

I have dealt with this organization several times and each time it has been a negative contact. Our city states they are to leave a notice but not have people ask, inquire, request or follow-up for "funds" to be collected. Well, these people paint even if you state not to and never gave prior authorization. The paint is sloppy, not the type the cities use where it is "reflective" and the hounding for money is no joke. They come 3 to 4 times and each time we have had to ask them to not return and to not paint the street numbers! Well, they ignore that and not until you call the police, do they go away. Check out the site and you will see the form link for people to request that their property not be touched, that they do not paint the street number........well, that link is dead. They purposely attempt to force the action of them painting to happen even if you do not authorize it or even desire it. I called and yes the company has a tax id number, a corporation listed but try getting the number to truly check and to complete when tax time comes......well, that never happens. They just state your donation is tax deductible and that is it.
THIS IS A SCAM! PLAIN & SIMPLE!
NICE TRY FELLAS.
No one should be pressured into paying for something they didn't request.

If you're looking up this organization before they painted your house numbers, then good for you! We received a notice on our door that this organization was going to come by and paint numbers but I didn't think anything of it. Surely this is a service that you have to opt-into? Not so. I arrived home a few days later and the numbers were painted on the curb without my permission. A few weeks later a representative from the organization came by and asked for a $20 donation for the number painting and explained that you're supposed to reply to the notice by opting out (and apparently putting the opt-out over your current numbers so they won't paint it). The representative also said that not every house in our block was painted because people opted out, which is a lie because I took a look and every house has new numbers.
Glad this organization is a registered non-profit, however, I think their business practices should subject them to a major audit and a review by the state.

I don't think they should do a default of painting your curb automatically unless you "tape a note to the curb". Do you know how hard it is to make tape stick to a curb? What if it is wet or windy? To have one's curb painted and then be expected to pay because one can't get a paper to stick to the curb is ridiculous and a scam practice. They need to get people's permission BEFORE they paint curbs, not defaulting and claim money is owed to them.

As a resident of Los Angeles Ca, there are to me, too frequent "charities" asking for this and that. However, after researching Care For The Children, and understanding how they take a simple $20 donation and serve families with their clothing program, not only was I amazed, but glad that the knock at my door for a donation is for a worthy cause. Do your research, as there are not many true charities as Care For The Children who take a little and perform a lot.
I believe in the cause of Care For The Children - our children are our future. And after contacting their office for clarification of donor fund distribution, I am satisfied and know that my donation is going to a good cause.

I run a charity and Care For The Children had a fundraiser in our city by painting the curb address numbers. Our charity received a little over $2,1.00 from Care For The Children.
This charity is bogus...he does not give to anyone but his pocket! DO NOT GIVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!! THE PERSON WHO RUNS THIS IS A CONVICTED FELON!!!
I also was really unhappy with the hard sell of the aggressive fellow who came to my door to "request" a donation. He came after 9:30 PM at night, and then did not seem to care that I had taped a note to the curb saying I did not want it painted, because I knew that I would not donate any money to the organization. I do not give anyone money who comes to my door (I've learned that lesson the hard way), so it is no reflection on the organization. But the fellow who came to the door does reflect on the organization, which is a shame. I will never open my door to one of their representatives again. It was a really unpleasant experience.
Hard presure to donate $20.00. If I gave $20 to everybody that stuck a flyer on my door knob I would be foolish. This group provides no evidence of doing what they say they do.
Care For The Children is a charity that tries to help meet the needs of children in less fornicate families. Our soul means of support comes from the address painting for voluntary donations.
A lot of people do not realize the amount of cost that goes into doing a city wide fundraiser by painting the curb address numbers. There are insurance cost, cost for bonds, and license and permit cost for every city. There is the labor and material cost and overhead cost.
Usually the city requires that all the curb address numbers are painted as a condition to receiving our license or permit. The curb address numbers are painted for free and in the hope of receiving a voluntary donation to aid our cause. No one is required to make a donation after their address is painted.
There are times when the charity will paint the address numbers in a neighborhood and the amount of donations received for the service will not be enough to cover the cost of labor and material for the service.
The charity puts out between $200.00 to $300.00 for every 100 curb address numbers painted in labor and material before receiving a single donation. In a good donating neighborhood 50 to 60 people will make a donation out of every 100. Not everyone will give a full donation but will give what they can afford. That still leaves 40 to 50 curb address numbers that were painted for free to the residents but the charity still has to pay the cost of labor and material for the service.
The charity has a policy to donate a minimum of 20% of the net process to a local charity in all the cities that allow Care For The Children to fundraise within the city. This is one of our ways to give back to the communities that provide donations to our cause. Care For The Children also tries to do a free clothing distribution in all the cities that it is privileged to fundraise within. Care For The Children only gives out new clothing that is purchased from the process of the address painting.
Please visit our website www.care4thechildren.org and view our 'Good Works" page to read the many "Thank You' letters that the charity has received from other charities that have received funds and large amounts new clothing to give out within their community.
I was going to donate to them, but thought to investigate first and am relieved that I did.
I feel uneasy donating to them because according to their self-published tax forms, they received over $167,000 in donations in one year, and out of that, less than $22,000 went to "needy people".
Their website has very little specific or verifiable information - lots of words that say nothing. In marketing, we used to call it "baffle them with b*llsh*t". It's extremely ambiguous, speaking in such generalities that it can be applied to anything. I first heard about this org from a solicitation flyer taped to our doorknob. It was informing us that curb painters would be coming by to paint house numbers and if we DID NOT WANT IT PAINTED we had to be pro-active and write a note and tape it to the curb. I say solicitation because they suggest that the average "donation" for painting the curb is $15.00. This type of solicitation makes me very uncomfortable. I dislike being manipulated and that's what this tactic smacks of. I would have felt better if you placed fliers telling people to LEAVE A NOTE IF THEY WANTED YOU TO PAINT IT. Why do we have to try and remember to leave a note that may "accidentally" disappear? That's what made me investigate further. I have found no information other than what they themselves put out there. OH,and this is a big one: if you donate by buying a voucher, but the recipient doesn't use it in a timely manner (90 days) what happens to that money that I donate? Do I get it back?
