Causes: Human Services
Mission: To support and empower people of all ages to reach their goals of personal growth and self-sufficiency. We strengthen communities.
Results: For over 40 years, CAPTAIN Community Human Services has been providing services and programs to those in our community who are most in need.
Target demographics: youth, families, individuals, and seniors in need
Direct beneficiaries per year: over five thousand families
Geographic areas served: Primarily Saratoga County, but we currently serve Fulton, Montgomery, Washington, and Warren Counties, and will be expanding January 2020
Programs: Bike Works, CAPTAIN's Treasures next-to-new store, CAPteens youth leadership program, Care Links senior support, Cheryl's Lodge Outreach Center, Family Assistance, Family Development Mentoring, Family Support Services, a Food and Hygiene Pantry, Free Summer Meals, Getting Ahead, Holiday Assistance, Job Assistance for youth, Street Outreach for homeless youth, Wellness Express for seniors, a Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter, and supportive youth housing.
