I have seen CAPS bless so many pregnant ladies! From offering free ultrasounds and pregnancy tests, to providing compassionate counseling for women in all situations, CAPS has been a wonderful support to the communities that they serve. Patients leave the clinic feeling so grateful for the care, and also expressing gratitude for being in a non-judgmental environment.

I have absolutely loved volunteering at CAPS! The staff are kind and supportive, they have a great training program for volunteers- both for nurses, counselors, and receptionists- so that we are prepared to give our best, educated care to all clients who come through and receive care from the CAPS team. Our goal is to encourage and support every client that comes in, and I feel the team does a great job at working together - from the time they walk through the door and speak to the receptionist to the time they leave after seeing the counselor and nurse - to create an atmosphere that is open, non-judge mental, and supportive. I always leave CAPS lifted up and encouraged. It has been a blessing to me and I hope and believe it is a blessing for clients as well!

I walked into the Pacific Beach location and the staff were incredibly warm, friendly and inviting. Having an unintended pregnancy is so scary, so I really feel like they do a great job of educating people on all the options to consider and then the woman/couple can make their own choice; pressure/guilt-free. Also, they have awesome new-parenting classes, counseling, and even give new born packages to new moms who really need the help. Not to mention, their main role of giving free pregnancy testing, STD testing and ultrasounds is carried through with professionalism and with a professional medical staff. I love this organization.

As a volunteer in training I am so impressed with this ministry. They are a group of loving, caring people who place prayer as a top priority beginning every shift in prayer for everyone who will seek it's services as well as for each other. "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds..."Heb. 10:24. The staff, it's leaders and volunteers all work as a team to provide a professional clinic through extensive training, continuous education along with frequent communication. They work tirelessly to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment keeping in mind the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of everyone who walks through their doors. The greatest gift they offer is love.

Many people in San Diego do not know about this medically licensed clinic that offers free preganancy testing and counseling to anyone. In each of its three locations, the clinics are staffed by professional, licensed medical personnel and equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasounds. The clinics are spotless; the staff are friendly and welcoming to anyone. Parking is free at all locations. After my retirment from decades of nursing in local hospitals, I am honored to be a nurse volunteer with such a top notch facility.

College Area Pregnancy Services is providing vital help and encouragement to people who are feeling anxious about their situation or needing help financially and can't afford the medical help they need. We provide a friend and medical help. Sometimes a person just needs to talk to someone to have clarity on what to do or where to go next. For over 12 years now, we have been a presence in the community that people can count on. I am privileged to serve in a variety of capacities and enjoy my roles. We serve and in turn have purpose ourselves. I would highly recommend our services to anyone in need of them.

During the almost fourteen years I volunteered at CAPS as a Counselor I witnessed firsthand the impact this place has in every client that comes in. Women from all ages come burdened with fear, confusion and uncertainty. Volunteers and staff at CAPS are able to provide a safe, non-judgemental place for these women where they find not only help and resources, but also a caring and personal environment. A comment I most usually heard after a counseling appointment was "This place is so nice, I felt comfortable and welcomed here."
CAPS will be forever in my heart, and love to tell others about it.

As a weekly volunteer at CAPS, I get to see first hand the care and concern extended to clients who find their way to our center. Counselors, staff, and medical personnel are at once professional and compassionate to each woman seeking our services. Their are also counselors available for the men who's lives are impacted by the unplanned pregnancy of wife or girlfriend, also administered with genuine concern. CAPS is positively assisting women of San Diego, whether their need is counseling, resource referral or simply stability and kindness during uncertain circumstance.

CAPs is a wonderful nonprofit. I have seen first hand how the free services the organization offers have benefited families in the community. The people who run CAPS are very caring people. I know the staff and some of the volunteers, and I would recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. The people at CAPS are ready to help that person think through options and to help in any way they can: providing medical services and baby items/clothes; answering questions; connecting with other helpful agencies; or simply lending a kind, listening ear. I am glad that they are planning to open another location soon, and I am thrilled to support them--it's a very deserving nonprofit!

I'm a current volunteer at CAPS and I absolutely love this ministry. They truly care about the women (and men) they serve. I am most impressed by the on-going training they provide their volunteers. They truly do care about these women and it's always stressed that we are not there to save babies necessarily, but to serve and love the women that come in looking for help. It is always their belief that God does the saving and He works through CAPS in beautiful ways. Of course they care for the babies, but listening to and providing a safe place for these ladies to come and figure out what they need is always first and I love that, I feel it takes the pressure off of me in my own power and gives it to the One it belongs to. It's wonderful to be part of the work that God is doing through CAPS.

I was concerned about the struggle we, as women, go through when faced with pregnancy unplanned. What am I going to do? How can I support this child? What are others going to think of me? How can I get out of this mess? Who can I talk to without the whole world knowing my business? Where can I go for help? Why is this happening to me? When am I going to learn?
I found a great place to learn, and be formally trained, to help other women answer all of these questions and make well informed, confident decisions about their individual situations- College Area Pregnancy Services, (CAPS).
CAPS strives to re-enforce women in all phases of their lives, from Spiritual to education and employment choices, love and marriage, family development, and especially in their time of need during pregnancy.
And, for women who are looking forward to pregnancy and need a positive affirmation and some resources to help, CAPS is a welcoming place to visit.
CAPS offer free counseling, pregnancy test/verification, ultra sound and photos, and many support services, and material aid.

I am currently in the training process to become a volunteer peer counselor with CAPS. I was amazed at the thoroughness of the 8-week classroom training and even more amazed at how much I learned about myself during that time. The training is meant to teach the basics of being a good counselor - and it definitely does that - but it also lead to a lot of growth in my relationships both to God and to other people.

It has been a blessing to see the dedication of the staff members and the volunteers to the cause of helping women through unplanned pregnancies, to each other, and to Christ. I am looking forward to being part of this organization in whatever capacity I can for as long as I can. CAPS is a blessing to the San Diego community and the Lord is using this organization for much good.

I have been a volunteer at CAPS for a number of years and know that it is a very worthy, non-profit organization. The quality and diversity of services offered is impressive. Some of these are:
-pregnancy tests,
-counseling,
-education
-sonograms,
-help with material resources such as maternity and baby clothes.

Depending on the need, there are referrals for doctors, social agencies, housing etc. All this and a genuine concern for every client is at absolutely no cost to the client. Clinics at both locations are funded entirely by donations and I count it a privilege to serve here.

I first became aware of CAPS through an informational donor dinner we were asked to attend by some friends. Skeptical of what services were actually provided, my husband and I decided to check into it further before donating our rather small discetionary funds. We were so pleased to learn that CAPS cares about all the women who step through the doors and provides an astonishing amount of services to meet many needs of these women from providing pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, pre-natal vitamins, referrals to county services that will help them (from Medical to in-home nursing care), even baby clothes for those needing it-all free! Most importantly, the counselors provide information in a loving and caring way so each client understands all her options so she can make an informed decision about this extremely difficult situation she finds herself in. From counseling about STD's to pre-natal development to post abortion care, CAPS truly cares about each woman and her situation. Not only have we become a monetary donor, I've since become a lay counselor and would recommend any woman to seek help here.

One thing I came away with, so far, is that the counselors and staffs here are focused on one thing: loving the women who come through the door no matter what circumstances and backgrounds.

We're not here to persuade them or impose our belief but we're here to help these women who are faced, sometimes with impossible situations, to be able to sort through with options and information. CAPS is a phenomenal organization! The wonderful staff helps you evaluate your options, your plans, and your future while, wat the same time weighing the risks involved and sharing all the resources available.

Each volunteer has a passion to serve God and the community. College Area Pregnancy Services truly does make a difference in the lives of young women [and men]. They did mine!

I have seen the hours spent by volunteers to help women, men and families in a time of need when they are not sure where else to turn. The compassion shown and generosity of time in the clinic is well above average. I hope that more people turn to this clinic when needed without hesitation.

We have supported CAPS from the time it was just a dream of a few faithful women. We have watched in amazement as it has grown and have seen many women and couples help in times of great distress and need. CAPS is such an important organization and our favorite place to donate.

I was approached to be a CAPS Board Member and happily served for 5 years. It was a great experience working with the other Board Members to help steer CAPS into the future.

CAPS has been an amazing organization to watch grow from the very beginning. The love they have for the women in our community is joy to see. Always working with the clients in the area they need most support; either emotional, physical or spiritual.

College Area Pregnancy Services (CAPS) is a great place to volunteer. I get to share with the parents their first moment of seeing their unborn baby/babies through Ultrasound. I cry, laugh and pray with them for a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery. It's a great honor to be a CAPS with many other nurses and volunteer who have the same heart of serving women in their most happiest and vulnerable time. God bless CAPS. :)

CAPS has been my favorite place to work. I had such a rewarding job knowing I was helping so many people. CAPS is a great place for women to go who aren't sure if they are pregnant or who know they are pregnant and want assistance. For free a woman can get: to talk to a lay counselor, a pregnancy test, educational information, an ultrasound, referrals, baby items etc. The women who see us are grateful for our services and are thankful we are there to help.

My experience at CAPS was nothing short of amazing. When you look at that pregnancy strip and see pregnant -- and you are single and it was not in YOUR plan, you can easily freak out. CAPS is a wonderful warm place to go and just talk if you want to - like FREE counseling, it is so great! I remember the first time I went to talk and I just sat and vented and talked for an hour, crying and discussing my feelings. They have so many educational tools so you can explore different options for you and your baby. I did not feel pressured in any way and only felt supported and loved by these people who did not even know me, but knew alot about the situation I was in and truely wanted to help. The people who work for CAPS have a passion for helping women with unplanned pregnancies and they do their job out of true love!! I definately recommend for you to just stop by the office if you are in crisis or just have any questions at all and are looking for support! I initially called CAPS to see if I could make a donation of baby items...and then proceeded to inquire about volunteer opportunities. After attending my volunteer training and meeting wonderful staff and volunteers, I knew for sure that I was in the right place. The moment you walk in the door of CAPS, you know you are absolutely loved and appreciated. The volunteer receptionists, nurses and counselors are the most loving, compassionate women and the mission of CAPS is evident to anyone who walks through the front door. The amazing volunteers are there to meet each client where they are at and love them unconditionally. I am so proud to have the opportunity to be part of such an amazing organization.

CAPS is a strong organization, equipped with outstanding female staff and high quality volunteers. The Executive Director is a woman of purpose and gratiousness, always looking to strive ahead in our community to proactively assist women facing unplanned pregnancies. I have the utmost confidence in the organization and their mission. I am proud to have them serve in my community and be a part of such a great organization.

I have been volunteering with CAPS for over a year, now, and have found this organization to be an inspiration. The care and love extended to all who enter the clinic, the professional teamwork of the staff & volunteers, and the attention to detail of every phase of this operation attest to the high standards that are achieved at College Area Pregnancy Services. I have found that assisting the community through the services offered here has been very rewarading. Women who have come through these doors find compassion and loving hearts to welcome them and so many have expressed their gratitude that we were here for them! This clinic is so supportive and makes every effort to inform, educate and train every volunteer to be well-equipped and lovingly able to minister to others and I am just happy to be a part of it!

I have known about CAPS through my church for many years and knew I wanted to be involved in supporting its efforts to help women with alternatives to abortion. The volunteers treat their clients with love and support and so many of them make the decision to carry their babies to term because of the love and support they receive. The provide free pregnancy tests and free ultra sounds and they offer counseling for post abortion clients as well. This is an amazing organization!
