I have followed and supported Capitol Commission since its inception and have found it to be a truly authentic Christian ministry that puts the Word of God before any political agenda. The older I get, the more I realize how much power politicians have to influence our culture and our lives. I am grateful Capitol Commission is there to give out the Truth to our politicians who need to make appropriate decisions, for our sake and in order to honor God. Capitol Commission does this well and they do it with love and integrity. This is a ministry deserving your prayers and financial support. Dr. Chas B. Kubasko
I have known Jim Young since before Capitol Commission was formed. As I got to know him as a man, his integrity and love for the Lord stood out. The ministry harbors the same compassion that Jim has laid out. It has been exciting to see the organization grow in both spirit and love as it ministers to those who face the challenges of the issues that face our nation. God bless Capital Commission as it continues to do the work of the Lord.
Capitol Commission is a trusted ministry among legislators. So much so that over the past ten years National Legislative Conferences have requested our involvement because we minister with no political agenda to legislators. In State Capitols the focus is bringing gospel hope and spiritual strength to government leaders!
Having heard Don Gardner, leader of Capitol Commission recently, I am well convinced he is truly a serving man of God. I was so impressed when he shared how he stands at the doors of the galley during legislative sessions so he can be available day in and day out to minister, encourage and pray with our state leaders. This has been SO VALUABLE to our leaders as they testify about the terrible bullying and ugliness that can take place on the floor along with trying to convince immoral issue votes to be changed. God Bless Don and his sacrifice to this ministry and to our leaders.
I am honored to be a part of the Capitol Commission. Jim Young, the state ministers and all others involved truly have a heart for the Lord and count it a blessing to serve our nation's many capitol communities. My hope and prayer is that God will enable us to place ministers in all 50 states.
Having known of Capitol Commission for several years, I would like to commend this nonprofit for the work they are doing in state capitols across the nation. The pressures and temptations of those in various leadership positions,as well as of their families, are immense. Capitol Commission chaplains come along side leaders to give spiritual support and encouragement. I have met many leaders who have been served by CC chaplains, and they are quite grateful for the chaplains' efforts in a culture of trust and confidentiality in this often lonely environment of public service. Having met many of those who serve in Capitol Commission, I am impressed by their integrity, knowledge and wisdom. I volunteer with the Indiana chaplain, however I have access to social media that serves leaders nationwide. These leaders state they are always grateful for any prayers and support they and their families receive. With very high respect for this nonprofit, I believe that the results of Capitol Commission's efforts will be evident for many generations to come.
For many years, an Indiana legislator was our neighbor, and we enjoyed getting to know him and his wife as we helped with campaigns for the past 14 years. While in high school our oldest son served as a personal intern for another legislator during two legislative sessions at the Indiana Statehouse. As a family we took an active interest in state government and became acquainted with even more legislators and helped with various other campaigns. Instead of being intimidated by those in authority, we discovered that they are real people with many of the same challenges that we all face. Those in leadership often face additional pressures both professionally and personally from being in public positions. Capitol Commission chaplains provide a tremendous ministry to elected officials as they build a culture of trust, care, and confidentiality. We have seen Capitol Commission's work close-up in the ministry of Rev. Matthew Barnes at the Indiana Statehouse. Capitol Commission state directors/chaplains do invaluable nonpartisan work by being available and "on call" for leaders daily and in times of joy and sorrow. Capitol Commission directors have a special ministry to carry out the mandate of 1Timothy 2 both in prayer and in service to elected leaders locally and nationwide. They are becoming a very positive and visible ministry which calls our nation to serve and pray for elected officials.
First, I thank God for CC leadership and those that make it continue to minister to public officials in local, state and national leadership for our nation.
Second. I believe that all citizens must engage themselves in Prayers with their financial support to keep CC going. It could be CC is the only frame work God has provided to unite our politicians to make good decisions for nation.
I personally vote and pray for leaders in our nation regardless of their political stand. I also pray for international leaders of foreign nations-------whose decisions affect our national security.
It is my prayer that God will continue to give us men and women of good character. I and others travel to the nations of the third world to provide civic education to their citizens for the purpose to vote for issues that affect their daily lives. Third world leaders affect USA in our foreign policy.
Capitol Commission is fulfilling a strategically important role of providing pastoral support to public servants who are engaged in visible and high-pressured leadership roles that are often accompanied by ethical dilemmas, physical and financial hardships and stress on families. CC provides a context and avenue for prayer, wise counsel and encouragement for these politicians. Based on numerous firsthand testimonies I have heard, I believe investing in the ministry of CC makes a positive difference for these men and women.
I just want to say thanks to Capitol Commission for all that they do for our country, I live in the GA and to know that our state Representatives believe in doing GOD's work keeps me praying for our state leaders every day. GOD Is in the center of everything, GOD's ways are not man's ways.. let's seek him first in all that we do. T.HALL
As one who loves my country and shares a keen interest in politics, I am so blessed to serve alongside one of Capitol Commission's State Directors in Indiana. What I appreciate about Matthew Barnes and this organization as a whole is their vision to reach our country's leaders with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their emphasis is not political party or agenda but on ministering to the needs of public servants and encouraging believers to pray for them. The impact here in the Indiana Statehouse has been far-reaching! Through teaching weekly Bible studies, organizing statehouse chapel services, meeting one-on-one with our legislators, and calling on churches to pray, I have seen first-hand how this Gospel emphasis is changing lives. Capitol Commission is fulfilling one of the greatest needs in our country: taking Jesus Christ and the message of the cross into the heart of our nation's capitols. I whole-heartedly support their efforts and greatly appreciate they sacrifices they make to invest their lives in this calling.
Capitol Commission is a unique ministry because it is aimed at giving spiritual encouragement and support to politicians, whatever their party affiliation. Its work to generate prayer support for these dedicated people is growing exponentially, and gives people a positive, as opposed to the usual negative, way to be involved in the legislative process. As a naturalized citizen of the USA I am honored to be a part of this ministry and a part of my adopted land's democratic process.
I appreciate this organization who introduced me to an organized way to pray for my legislators. Because I receive notices on Facebook, I regularly pray for whichever legislator comes up for that day. THANK YOU Capitol Commission for keeping this on the forefront of my mind.
My brother is following his call to serve his country by praying for our political leaders. I'm extremely proud of the man he is and I look up to him spiritually. I love you Matt!
Praying for our government leaders is something I now do each day, after learning of the work Capital Commission does to encourage and bring God into our government houses. Frank Erb California State Director works tirelessly to serve The Lord in the mission field of Sacramento. Thanks to Frank, I am now aware of the difficult job our elected leaders face with demands, distractions and temptation. I believe the work of this organization serves God with each State Director bringing light into a some times dark place in our country.
I have been a partner in prayer for the state and some of our national leaders for several months. This daily mail out for about 5 state leaders and 1 US ,this includes picture which helps it be more personal .
This guide helps remind me to be vigilant in prayer for them. I believe consistent prayer through the heart of God, will help those who lead ,to align with the will of God. When we are in God's will, our society will heal and be blessed.
I appreciate getting an e-mail weekly of some folks to pray for that are in our state legislature. I have known our state director since we were students together back in the 1980's for our undergraduate education. Further, State Director Tim Pauley has faithfully lead devotions for our state legislators in Charleston. It is a GREAT ministry, having wonderful impact from Charleston throughout the state!
I have found the website www.Pray1Tim2.org to be a very helpful tool in praying for our state and national leaders. It provides an easy way for me to encourage and thank them for serving us by the connecting links.
I met Ron Bigalke, State Director for Georgia, and his wife at an informational luncheon in downtown Savannah last year. It is a privilege to partner with a ministry that is there to serve our legislators and be that refuge of strength and hope as they wrestle to make the laws for our state. I highly recommend Capitol Commission!
As a friend of CC, I continue to be amazed at the calibre of men associating with the legislators and others within the political arena, many of whom I have met personally. These men are dedicated and faithful servants carrying out their commission in reaching others for Jesus Christ. Thank you for coming along side those in authority within North Carolina, and many other states across this great nation, in their daily spiritual walk. Keep up the good work!!!
I am so thankful for Capitol Commission and the work they do in so many areas, but especially for being that place of refuge for our elected officials in Washington, D.C. where they are truly in the midst of battle. I firmly believe in the power of prayer - not because of the ones praying, but to the One whom we address our prayers. Capitol Commission and the work they do reminds us and our elected officials we all are going to be held accountable by a Higher Being, our Creator, our God! Our forefathers relied on His guidance and believed, when they prayed for His guidance, they would receive it. How else could ordinary men accomplish so much? There are so many services offered by Capitol Commission and I encourage anyone and everyone to research this organization and join in this great work. Our country needs organizations such as these and I highly recommend Capitol Commission! Thank you for your dedication, determination and perseverance! May God be with you!
Dear Capitol Commission (ala get the hell out of my state government). I recently read about your comments regarding areas of my state in need of your faith's ridiculous spiritual intervention. And of course it seems to center on areas most likely democratic, urban and less likely superstitious. Of course these areas are doing relatively well economically compared to the remainer of our backward state. This seemed to have escaped you. I imagine what is probably more needed is for your followers to give serious thoughts to the vast wasteland prairies of central and western kansas who are generally clamoring for our government to return us to the the dark ages. Now there is something you can "pray" for.....

I have watched Capitol Commission's work in Arkansas and was very impressed with their approach and attitude. This is a true mission field and they approach it with the respect it deserves. My wife and I have become supporters of this important ministry.

I have been privileged to know the Chief Executive, Jim Young, when he headed the NC group and now to see him as the national coordinator of what I think is one of the most needed organizations we could have. Capital Commission has been faithful to its mission of reaching out to the legislators and their surrounding support of staff and family with one goal in mind and that is to bring them all to a better understanding of the Gospel that they may be better and stronger in their own lives and in the decisions they make for our states. To support our political decision-makers through prayer, fellowship, and wisdom of the Word is to give true life to those who effect the lives of so many. To care that those legislators know truth and loving support is the heart of Capital Commission. May they always be able to provide that kind of support to all of us through their work in the halls of state governments throughout our country.

Brent and the Capitol Commision give a much needed service to our delegates, their staff and their families from the State of Maryland. The mission field is not the State House but those who work there. This is a people ministry and not a platform to lobby for political favors. Christ is demonstrated by Brent Alderman who is available for prayer, Bible study, or just to talk. This ministry is not about changing the culture but Christ freeing the all who are burdened by their sin regardless of political position. I highly recommend Brent Alderman and the Capitol Commission as they carry out Christ's Great Commission.- Pastor James Catoe
The Indiana Capitol Commission, under the guidance of Pastor Matthew Barnes, has had and is continuing to have a powerful impact on the staff and elected officials in the statehouse. Matt began coming to the statehouse to pray for his government leaders. Through the past nine years, God has opened doors for Matt and his team to pray, teach, and counsel. We are grateful for Matt's and Capitol Commission's presence at the Indiana Capitol.
As a board member, it has been a blessing to serve such fine men who love the Lord and are well equipped to minister to the legislative communities in the state capitols of our great nation. These men lead bible studies for legislators, staff and lobbyists. These studies are the basis for truth, encouragement and fellowship for those who have made great sacrifice to serve their respective states. During off session, these men speak in churches and in communities to encourage prayer and moral support for their legislators. We all share the goal of reaching the capitol community for Christ.
I am a State Representative in Pennsylvania. I have been attending the Bible Study in the state capitol lead by Bob Lewis since taking office. I find the time we spend together to be spirit-filled, challenging and a fulfilling opportunity each week to learn and grow in the word.
I am disappointed when I can't be there as I have found it to be a tremendous blessing. I am thankful that this study and these wonderful individuals provide this ministry.

We have a wonderful Bible Study lead by Bob Lewis at the State Capitol in Harrisburg, PA. The lessons are insightful and academically challenging and have helped guide us in how we conduct ourselves both as legislators and Christians. The fellowship and interaction have been stimulating and enjoyable.

I am a State Representative and greatly enjoy our Bible Studies in the Capitol. They provide inspiration and motivation to me. We are also expanding the ministry to a Religious Liberty tour of our Capitol, exposing citizens to the wonderful religious symbolism throughout.

My name is Louis Alexander Jr and I have been a volunteer with Capitol Commission since before it's incepton and have attended Bible studies, prayer breakfast's and other various meetings @ the General Assembly and have seen a very positive reaction by all of the ligislators in attendance. I urge all who read this to check out the character and preformance of the officers of this extremely necessary organization.
As a North Carolina State Senator, I can attest that Capitol Commission has been an effective ministry to the North Carolina Legislature. They sponsor weekly Bible studies, monthly prayer breakfasts and meet individually with legislators when requested. I certainly support the efforts of Capitol Commission!
