Mission: The purpose of the capital city kiwanis club foundation is to assist needy persons, particularly young people; to assist worthy youth in attaining vocational excellence, and to aid handicapped persons in regaining happy, useful lives through the expending of funds directly for such purposes or by the furnishing of funds to other organizations organized for charitable, scientific research, or educational pruposes, or the prevention of cruelty to children, all within the purview of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue club. The specific purposes is for the capital city kiwanis club to perform various fund raising activities, the proceeds of which should be used to fund the major emphasis programs of kiwanis international.
Programs: Funds raised were used to support childrens projects such as the bicycle rodeo and kiwanis olympics at the montgomery boys and girls clubs. Reading is fundamental was supported by giving funds to purchase reading material for elementary children at a local public school, youth clubs such as circle k and key clubs were supported through contributions to the various clubs to support there citizenship functions and training. Contributions were made to various 501(c)(3) organizations to support there services in the montgomery community.
