Mission: Helping people achieve their philanthropic goals that reflect the values and interests that enhance their community.
Programs: The canton community foundation serves as a convener to match those who want to serve the community at large with the current needs in the community. The foundation serves not only those in canton township and neighboring plymouth, but also western wayne and southern oakland counties. Grants are provided to resolve problems and enhance the lives of others. Additionally, ccf is proud to host the giving hope, women's giving circle donor-advised fund and the lariche family/eastern michigan camero club community fund. Donors have used these funds to pool their resources to strengthen impact in addressing local charitable needs. Ccf also serves area non-profits by maintaining invested agency funds. Those agencies include the canton public library, michigan philharmonic, plymouth christian academy, growth works, michigan chapter of the paralyzed veterans of america, and first step domestic violence project.
the canton community foundation annually provides scholarships to college-bound and current college students. A scholarship at ccf empowers the donor to help local students achieve their academic dreams. Our cutting-edge application process makes the process easy for students and donors to use. Our scholarship fund holders consist of local organizations and individuals who are able to design their unique criteria for their scholarship. Over the past 28 years the canton community foundation has provided over 800,000 in scholarships to over 750 local students.
the canton community foundation recognizes the sacrifice of our military veterans and the needs and challenges that are unique to this group upon returning to civilian life. Because of this, ccf has developed a strong, on-going veterans' initiative that addresses these needs. Through four unique programs, the foundation assists veterans and their family members in addressing ever-changing health and disability benefits, legal assistance, job placement, financial independence, and addressing ptsd and substance abuse. Ccf also manages a fund for the maintenance of the plymouth community veterans' memorial park and provides technical assistance to veterans' groups in the community for their educational programming. Ccf received 8,040 in donated goods and services in connection with this program.
