Cannonball Kids' cancer is a research-centric foundation committed to finding cures for all children's cancers. Passionate, bold, and loud, this team is dedicated to sharing knowledge about the truth of pediatric cancer no matter how difficult or painful it is to hear. They are fighting to change the future for kids and other families by by giving them OPTIONS for treatment, rather than hospice or lifelong health implications. This organization includes researchers, young investigators, volunteers and and a team of fighters that believe they can and they WILL make a difference...and they will not give up until they do.

Cannonball Kids' cancer is notably different from other non-profits for kids because their main focus isn't to accept the state of kids with these illnesses, rather, they want to find a cure for pediatric cancer so they can put an end to the suffering for these children, and their families.

This all makes sense when you meet co-founders, Michael and Melissa Wiggins as they both can understand what parents of kids with cancer go through, as they've been in those shoes. Meeting them, and those affiliated with CKc has been a life-changing and inspiring experience, which is why I became a volunteer for CKc. While I have volunteered for other foundations who have helped kids when it's too late, it's great knowing that CKc is out there trying to find a cure for all pediatric kids cancers.

I recently had the opportunity to assist in the planning of CKc's 2017 Gold Gala, an annual charity event aimed towards raising money for clinical research. Seeing the amount of time and dedication the Wiggins family puts into such an important cause is something I'll remember for a lifetime. They aren't simply trying to heal their child, they're trying to prevent any family from having to experience the heartbreak pediatric cancer brings by putting an end to it entirely. For being around for only two years they have already achieved so much. This is an organization I'd be proud to work with in the future and a cause I proudly support.
