Exceptional Practice Interview Experience!
My practice interview with Canderfol was outstanding from start to finish. The session was well-structured, professional, and incredibly insightful. I appreciated how the interviewer created a realistic and comfortable environment, which helped me practice authentic responses while still being challenged with thoughtful, relevant questions.
The feedback portion was especially valuable—it was specific, constructive, and encouraging. I walked away with a clearer understanding of how to sharpen my answers, highlight my strengths, and better align my experiences with potential roles.
If you're preparing for interviews and want to boost your confidence and performance, I highly recommend working with Canderfol. This session was exactly what I needed.
After a 25+ year hiatus from the employment pool, I recently had the opportunity to utilize the services of Candorful, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting transitioning military personnel, veterans, and military spouses in their career journeys. My experience with Candorful was nothing short of exceptional, and I am compelled to share my thoughts on the organization’s professionalism, effectiveness, and mission-driven approach.
Candorful’s mission—to connect candidates with experienced interview coaches for live, personalized practice interviews—is executed with precision and care. The organization’s innovative two-sided platform seamlessly facilitates connections between candidates and coaches, creating an environment that fosters growth, confidence, and success. As someone re-entering the workforce after an extended absence, I found this service to be invaluable in helping me regain my footing and prepare for the modern job market.
The quality of the coaches provided by Candorful is truly above par. Each coach demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in career transition, offering a balanced mix of realistic critique and nurturing support. Their feedback was both constructive and actionable, enabling me to refine my interview skills, strengthen my confidence, and approach the job search process with renewed clarity. The coaches’ expertise and dedication were instrumental in helping me bridge the gap between my past experiences and the expectations of today’s employers.
What sets Candorful apart is its commitment to its mission and the tangible impact it has on its participants. The organization’s focus on live, personalized practice interviews ensures that candidates are not only prepared but also empowered to excel in real-world scenarios. The platform itself is user-friendly and efficient, making the entire process seamless and stress-free.
In conclusion, Candorful is an outstanding resource for anyone navigating a career transition, particularly those with military backgrounds. The organization’s innovative approach, exceptional coaching staff, and unwavering dedication to its mission make it a standout nonprofit in the career services space. Thanks to Candorful, I feel equipped and confident to “Nail That Interview” and take the next step in my professional journey. I wholeheartedly recommend Candorful to anyone seeking support in their career transition.
Suddenly found myself needing to pivot and transition out of the military but was unsure of how to establish a foothold and ensure my success in the civilian job market, particularly with the interview process. Candorful not only helped to build my confidence but ensured that I had all of the tools and practice available to guarantee success in interviews and building rapport while networking!
With the three sessions under my belt, I felt extremely confident going into interviews with two companies and performed very well. I received a job offer after completing the interview process!
This is a wonderful opportunity that is available to veterans, and I will continue to spread the message to transitioning members to have them master their interviews and increase their confidence! Thank you for providing us with this amazing tool for improvement!
Fantastic resource for transitioning military! Interviews are not something military are accustomed to, nor are we comfortable with talking about ourselves. Candorful helped instill confidence and a sense of comfort with the interview process. Their services are a must for any military member transitioning into the civilian workforce!
Candorful exceeded my expectations in every way! Their team provided invaluable interview preparation, offering insightful feedback and tailored guidance that boosted my confidence. What truly stood out was their willingness to adjust their schedules to accommodate mine, showing an incredible level of dedication and support. Thanks to their expertise, I felt well-prepared and ready to tackle my interviews. I highly recommend Candorful to anyone looking to sharpen their interview skills—I will certainly be referring them to my colleagues!
Candorful is an outstanding resource for transitioning service members preparing for interviews. The platform offers a robust selection of highly skilled and approachable coaches, each with deep understanding and expertise in helping military personnel navigate the civilian job market. My mock interview sessions were incredibly valuable—packed with insightful feedback and tailored advice that was directly applicable to my unique background. The coaches genuinely cared about my success, providing actionable tips that boosted my confidence and helped me refine my approach. Thanks to Candorful, I felt far more prepared for the next step in my career. Highly recommend to fellow service members transitioning to civilian roles!
I am incredibly grateful for the interview prep Candorful provides, and the quality of volunteer feedback drastically improved my confidence and interview skills. I received admission to several top MBA programs with the help of Candorful volunteers who in some cases had went down the same path. This is a highly professional and knowledgeable organization that helped me with my transition goals!
I've been a volunteer with Candorful for over three years and it is an amazing organization truly helping transitioning military, military spouses and veterans by greatly improving their interview skills to successfully launch into their next mission. The leadership in the organization is incredible and helps foster and environment for the coaches to consistently want to be better to help the candidates.
So Proud to have found this Organization. They are providing invaluable support to transitioning military personnel and their families, helping them confidently prepare for the next phase of life with expert interview coaching and career guidance.
I am a volunteer coach for Candorful and love the mission and vision of this organization. Helping our men and women in uniform transition from the military to the private sector by practicing interview skills is amazing!
Love volunteering for Candorful. Very meaningful to be able to give back to our country's heroes and make a difference. Proud to be associated with this organization.
Candorful is an amazing organization to be part of. Over my time volunteering, I have met people all over the country and helped them with their skills transitioning out of the military. From reviews from our clients, I hear some great help and many success stories with the program.
Candorful is a non-profit that provides three one-hour mock interviews for veterans and vetspouses. In addition, during the intake session they tell you what to expect from the mock interviews and how to get the most out of them with general interview advice. I was even surprised that you could schedule interviews on or around the holidays. I really appreciate their help.
My experience thus far has been excellent. This is an invaluable resource to anyone job searching. I have shared Candorful's information with a friend and would urge everyone to use this service.
After 20+ years in the Air Force, I thought I’d be ready for the job hunt in the outside world—especially the interview phase. But after a few rough interviews, I realized I was not prepared at all. Then I found Candorful, and wow, was that a game-changer. My second practice session was just before a real interview, and thanks to the prep, I absolutely nailed it. The recruiter’s feedback? “The team really loved you, and they’re ready to extend an offer.” Success! Candorful made all the difference in boosting my confidence and interview skills.
A top-notch experience with Candorful! My interviewer was one of the more experienced executives in his company and truly understood the nuances of a transitioning service member. I am grateful for this amazing opportunity and would highly recommend it to anyone prior to beginning your job search.
Had a great interview preparation with an industry leader. The feedback was incredible and gave me actionable steps to improve! Can’t recommend more!
Candorful is a unicorn among all of the organizations supporting the military community. I learned about them from ActNow Education's Mastermind Cohort in preparation for a hiring fair during the MIC conference. After my experience, I realized I should have done it sooner. The intake interview set the tone for the next interviews. I deliberately chose different people as I wanted to get different feedback and I did. The format and length of the mock interviews were just right. It was a perfect simulation of potential interviews with industry professionals. I applaud this organization and its amazing volunteers.
Transitioning from the military is challenging, primarily because of the unknowns. However, Candorful makes it easy! I was nervous about interviewing because it was uncommon in the military, and the private sector seemed so different. I drastically improved my interview skills with Candorfuls three free practice interviews, each built upon the previous. Thanks to Candorful and the three fantastic volunteers who coached me, I felt confident going into my first job interview. I'm happy to share that I excelled throughout my interview rounds and ultimately landed my dream job! I highly recommend Candorful to all veterans!
Candorful is a truly top-notch organization. One of the hardest parts of the transition out of active service is not finding people who want to help and to tell you what they think you should do, rather it is finding people who want to help AND are knowledgeable and true expert practitioners in their fields. The coaches at Candorful are those experts and make a tremendous difference in candidate readiness over the course of the program. I was fortunate enough to be guided by Pat during my own transition out of the military and now get to give back as a coach on the other side. In the confusing sea of resources available this is one you absolutely should take advantage of.
Pat and the other mentors at Candorful are an absolute delight to work with. Despite being an international veteran in the US, I received full support of the Candorful community which really helped me identify gaps in my interview skills and work on them in a focused manner. With top-notch industry professionals serving as mentors, my interactions with them have been extremely fruitful both in terms of the preparation and gaining valuable industry knowledge, which allowed me to make more informed decisions going forward in the recruitment process.
Thank you Pat, and thank you to all the mentors at Candorful for taking the time from your busy schedules and helping us land better at our feet!
It is an honor for me to serve as a volunteer interviewer for Candorful, a non-profit whose mission is to help veterans and their spouses transition from the military to the private sector. I have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing individuals who have given so much to our great nation. For me personally, I have derived great satisfaction in being able to be of help to such a wonderful group of individuals. Hats off to the leadership of Candorful for their dedication and drive for such a noble purpose. I highly recommend Candorful to those seeking help with the interview process in transitioning to the private sector.
Candorful provides an opportunity for me to use skills and experience gained in the private sector to help transitioning service members be even more successful than I was when I left the Coast Guard. I volunteer from work and from home on a schedule that I control, allowing me to adjust my current level of commitment to match my current availability. Their tiny staff is super dedicated to ensuring an excellent experience for the nonprofit's clients foremost, but also its volunteers. I have completed about 30 interviews for them and look forward to continuing my work with them for the foreseeable future. It is so rewarding to hear the appreciation from the vets, spouses, and transitioning service members!
Candorful is a unique service which helps many US Service Members and their spouses transition into jobs outside of the Military. I believe they will grow and help many, many more.
Candorful was an essential part of my success when transitioning out of the military. Great coaching, mentoring, and of course interview preparation! It took a lot of the stress out by lowering the uncertainty and the unknown of entering the civilian world after a career in the military.
Candorful does a great job providing interview practice to military veterans and military spouses. Working with Candorful and the candidates has been a great experience for me as well.
Candorful is a great organization making a tangible impact on the career journeys of veterans and military spouses.
Of all of the things I did in preparation for my separation from the Air Force, Candorful was absolutely the most valuable. And I do not make that claim lightly. There is no doubt in my mind that I was better positioned to get hired thanks to them. I recommend the service they offer to every transitioning service member I come across.
Candorful did a fantastic job of helping me feel prepared to nail interviews. Their expert team provided me the opportunity to receive mentorship from several sources and gain an array of experience. They are an incredible resource to transitioning veterans who do not have exposure to interviews or the interview process.
This is such an amazing group doing such great things. Interviewing is HARD y'all. Especially coming into more corporate industries. Candorful makes the transition easier and impart so much knowledge on their participants.
Before Candorful, I had some doubts about my interview skills and lacked confidence that I was saying the correct things to say. After I met with the volunteer coach, my confidence rebounded and I excelled in all interviews after the coaching. Candorful is a great resource for veterans!
Candorful was super helpful in preparing me for my panel interview. I reached out to them to see if they could coordinate a mock panel interview for me and, even though they had never had this unique request, they promptly coordinated five different interviewers. They were timely, professional, and very helpful when giving me my feedback. I would recommend this service to anyone looking to improve their interviewing skills.
Candorful was really helpful and I recommend anyone who is out of touch on how to conduct an interview that they use this service, especially transitioning service members. They provided me with great recommendations on how to improve job interview.
Candorful has been one of the best resources I've had during my transition out of the Air Force. I'm truly grateful for this incredible resource and the amazing people I spoke with. They all had a vested interest in my success and provided influential feedback that I can understand, internalize and act upon. I'll be a forever promoter of Candorful! It helped me land my first post military job, right where I wanted to be at!
Candorful is an outstanding resource for interview preparation. I found a robust selection of highly professional and friendly coaches. Each mock interview session was chocked full of insights and they were genuinely interested in providing helfpul and actionable feedback.
Candorful is awesome. They assisted me with their services after retiring from the military. I love how they step in and help the military. It is a true blessing to work with them and i plan to continue to use their services moving forward.
This non-profit punches well above its weight to have an outsized positive impact in preparing vets for landing a job. As I transitioned from active duty about two years ago, I knew I needed help with interviewing skills. One of the many transition assistance programs I attended alerted me to Candorful and I am so thankful. I met one or more people during my involvement with Candorful who remain a part of my professional network because they are such quality individuals. The mock interviews were a huge help in providing useful insight into what to expect from the private sector hiring process. I can’t say enough good things about what they do, how they do it, and the people they have volunteering with the group!
The services provided by Candorful were invaluable. As a transitioning servicemember, the interview process was a concern of my as I searched for employment. Signing-up with Candorful and following their process was very simple. After three mock-interviews I felt VERY confident in moving forward with various applications and speaking with recruiters. I highly recommend the services offered by this organization for any servicemember or other prospective client. I also felt that each volunteer who conducted the mockinterview genuinely cared about my success and came to our meeting prepared.
I have been a Candorful volunteer interview coach for 4 years and it has been the most fulfilling experience of my entire career. Every time I work with a veteran I am re-energized and inspired by the conversation. I look forward to continuing to serve this great organization.
I was transitioning out of the Army into a tech sales career with no experience in sales. I used Candorful interviews to find people that have experience with interviewing at tech companies that not only did a mock interview to help me prepare, but even introduced people to network with to help in my job search. I highly recommend Candorful for anyone transitioning from the military.
I have been one of the interview coaches for Candorful for a few years now and find that the individuals who come through the program continue to amaze me. Many stay in touch (as I recommend) and keep me updated on their journey. Those who have found success pay it forward to those people now leaving the military. Can't recommend this organization enough!
Proud to serve as a volunteer for Candorful, a non-profit committed to empowering veterans and military spouses through their civilian career transitions. Honoring those who have safeguarded our liberties by contributing to their professional journeys is immensely satisfying. With 5+ years of conducting impactful mock interviews, I've had the privilege of meeting remarkable individuals and witnessing first-hand the transformative work Candorful does for our veteran community. #Candorful #VeteranSupport #GivingBack
Candorful provides a great service to our Military Veterans and families. As a volunteer since 2019, its been a pleasure to serve these folks and help them get ready for their civilian careers with practice interviews. Its also convenient for both the volunteers and clients with Zoom, hangouts, teams or other web based video calls.
I have been a volunteer interview coach with Candorful for almost 5 years. We provide transitioning military, veterans, and military spouses with interview coaching to help them nail their interviews. I highly recommend Candorful, whether you are an experienced interviewer and need some freshening up or you are preparing for you initial interviews outside the military.
Candorful is an organization like no other in many ways but I'd like to highlight two in specific.
First, Candorful provides military veterans and spouses interview coaching opportunities, all free of charge! The process works this way- You first meet with an intake coach who provides the "what to expect" from Candorful and sets up the candidates to schedule their mock interviews. Additionally, the intake coaches provide some initial tips and tricks to get the candidates started and comfortable with the process. After the intake session, candidates have the opportunity to schedule three mock interviews with amazing volunteers from leading organizations. Our amazing interview coaches provide behavioral based mock interviews, followed by in-depth, verbal and written feedback. The interview skills gained by the candidates through this process are valuable and necessary to bridge the gap in finding meaningful employment.
The second thing I'd like to highlight is Candorful's leader, Pat. She is one of the most passionate people I have ever met, especially when it comes to helping people. From the first interaction with her, you can immediately see her passion and how she pours it all into Candorful.
I am proud to be part of the Candorful family, and I am confident that everyone else involved with Candorful, regardless of their role, is equally proud!
Candorful has been a big part of my military transition and was highly recommend by many veterans who have successfully transitioned. Many veterans that are transitioning out think that interviewing will be smooth sailing and it can be a bit of a challenge. Candorful allows you to get some of those shakes out early so that you nail that interview!
Candorful helped prepare me for job interviews when I transitioned out of the service. Interview prep aside, the insights veterans in industry provided me at such a pivotal moment in my life was priceless.
Pat allowed me the opportunity to come back and share with newly transitioning servicemembers my experiences while helping them advocate for themselves in their job interviews.
This is a great organization with lots of potential!
I have been a Candorful volunteer coach for the past 2 years. Over this period, I have had the privilege to meet men and women transitioning from years of military service to civilian sector jobs. Since they joined the military directly from school, most have never interviewed for a job. It can be a daunting challenge to translate military experience to the responsibilities and requirements listed in civilian jobs. Our service provides practice, feedback, advice and guidance to each member based on their needs and goals. These discussions are often the highlight of my day. I encourage everyone to check out Candorful, volunteer or donate in honor of a friend or relative who has served.

Candorful Coach
Candorful is an excellent organization! The feedback received from the fantastic volunteers is essential for improving my interview skills and preparing me for my job search. Thank you, Amy, Treasure, and Ross, for your time and the valuable practice opportunity and feedback. I would recommend Candorful to any transitioning service members and military spouses.
Candorful is a phenomenal organization that is helping veterans and our amazing military spouses with one of the most challenging aspects of a military transition ... the interview. The majority of transitioning veterans have little to no experience with this aspect of a career search. The insights and recommendations provided by the selfless volunteers who dedicate their expertise, experience, and time is making a significant difference! My volunteers have been incredible coaches, mentors, and supporters. They provided valuable insight that gave me the confidence and skillsets to excel in my follow-on interviews which directly led to an offer. Thank you to the Candorful team and the tireless volunteers!!
Candorful played a very vital role in preparing and equipping me as I transitioned from a 15 year career in the teaching/education sector into a totally new career in Salesforce. I was matched with some amazing mentors/coaches that had a wealth of experience about IT/Salesforce and they helped me tremendously in building my self-confidence and allowing to recognize all the amazing transferable skills I bring from my teaching background into these new role as a that I have been able to step into now as a Certified Salesforce Admin/Business Analyst.
I would highly recommend candorful to anyone that is in the process of transitioning careers especially my military friends. As a military spouse, I cannot thank candorful and their donors enough for the support I was given and paying it forward in giving back to these amazing organization
The feedback and practice offered by the amazing volunteers of this organization have been one of the most useful tools for me while transitioning to the civilian sector.
Having someone to scrutinize my interview skills as an unbiased third party was an invaluable help.
The interviewers are extremely professional and have offered me additional tips and information on resume structure and resources. I hope this organization's outreach becomes more talked about and recommended for veterans.
When I separated from the military, I knew that I needed to prepare for a different culture of resumes and interviews. My military transition counselor recommended Candorful as a cost-effective way to build my confidence and refine my experiences to succeed in the civilian marketplace. Initially, I struggled to put my military career into words and contexts that resonated with my civilian peers. I worried that I would not do well in my interviews or that my resume would be incomprehensible even though I was the right person for the job. I signed up for my first Candorful interview with a volunteer mentor from a different industry than what I was interested in. In just 30 minutes, he reassured me that my military experience can be translated well and that he would help me with both the resume and the interview. He created a mini schedule for me to practice my interviews and develop my resume. We also covered common mistakes that Veterans made and tools to avoid them. I was so empowered that I quickly signed up for the next available session with Candorful. In total, I received four different interviews from four different mentors. They all helped me build my confidence and show my experience. They all tailored their support and guidance to my needs and my career aspirations. I walked into my interviews for a fellowship placement at the U.S Senate and I emerged with three offers! I am so grateful to the four mentors I had and to Candorful for connecting me with the right people to help me reach my professional goals.
Extremely appreciative of Candorful’s support to transitioning veterans. My practice interview sessions were essential in my preparation for actual interviews and extremely valuable. Thank you!
I met Candorful cofounder Pat Hubbell in 2018 when she was a finalist at the Mass Challenge Accelerator. I was serving Mass Challenge as a mentor and a fellow mentor introduced me to Pat as I have had years of experience on nonprofit Boards. When we met, she and her cofounder had recently decided to establish Candorful as a nonprofit and was working on the application process. I was able to help her interpret the various questions on the government forms. She later asked me to serve on her Board when it was officially formed on 7/2019.
I am very impressed with Candorful for several reasons. Pat has built a great Board comprised of people with successful careers. She has established strategic partnerships with several much larger non profit organizations that also serve transitioning military and now depend on Candorful to provide vital interview training. She has recruited a large team of volunteers that deliver our interview training services. She envisioned and managed the creation of the technology platform that allows us to efficiently serve our clients and has built an organization to run the operation. She is also very creative on fundraising including “Fireside Chats” featuring prominent speakers discussing interesting current topics, and running half marathon races which many people are happy to support with contributions.
Thanks to Candorful team and, especially, Pat. She was so so helpful on my journey and I continue to use the advice she shared with me in those days to help other Vets. Appreciate everything you've done and continue to do.
I am a volunteer Intake Coach with the nonprofit Candorful.org. This tiny organization (which punches way way above its weight!) provides free practice job interviews and coaching for men and women who are transitioning to civilian life after serving in the US Armed Forces (and their spouses!). I want to tell you how much fun this is, and I want you to know how important and gratifying this work is for me.
I retired several years ago from a job where I was on a successful talent recruiting team. In retirement, I found a volunteer position helping to write resumes and cover letters. I was asked several times to give a “mock” interview: they were really fun! So I Googled “mock interviews” and found Candorful.org. Over the last 15 months I have conducted over 600 Zoom sessions with transitioning officers and enlisted personnel—everyone from Junior NCO’s to Full-Bird colonels.
The men and women of our Armed Forces are trained to endure the unimaginable rigors of combat, to keep our country safe and secure. But only Candorful.org provides free job interview practice and coaching, helping them with the stressful transition to civilian life.
I am not the only Candorful volunteer who believes this is the Best Volunteer Job Ever!
About Candorful.org. It is a nonprofit established seven years ago by two individuals: an MIT Sloan graduate with years of experience as a career transition coach, and a former Officer in the 82nd Airborne. At PwC, they convinced management to encourage in-house recruitment staff to be the first volunteers in a new program to provide realistic job interview practice and feedback to military men and women who are transitioning to civilian life.
The program has grown and now a number of Fortune 500 companies have followed the lead of PwC, adding members of their in-house recruitment teams to our roster Now we have 130 Interview Coaches—many have moved on from the companies where they were introduced to Candorful, but they remain on the roster because we all are so glad to be able to give back to our servicemen and women…something they need and cannot get anywhere else.
Candorful allows me to have a significant impact by helping military members and spouses who are transitioning to the civilian workforce. Meeting and helping these amazing people is very rewarding, and seeing them hone their interviewing skills and ultimately find a great job is very satisfying. The program is very well structured and efficiently run, and feedback from the candidates confirms its effectiveness. I've been working with them for the past 18 months and have interviewed more than 100 candidates, and I look forward to many more.
I've been volunteering with Candorful for a few years now. It's a well-run organization that is a pleasure to work with. I feel that the time I've invested has really helped transitioning service members, vets and their spouses to find a meaningful role, either outside of uniform or one that will be their next great thing. The people are enthusiastic and motivated to reach their goals.
It’s important t to give back and serve those that put their lives on the line to serve us and our freedom. As a Candorful coach, there is nothing more rewarding than to see the confidence build as you work with a transitioning veteran who realizes that they have even more to give. Helping someone overcome their fears and the unknown that comes with a new professional chapter is rewarding and meaningful. Candorful makes this all happen!
I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer with the wonderful Candorful team and support the important work they are doing. Pat Hubbell leads this organization with enthusiasm and a total commitment to ensure Candorful is supporting veterans and their spouses with realistic interview practice and coaching. This service fills a very important gap in the transition readiness process for may veterans and directly impacts an individuals ability to confidently communicate and translate their skills during an interview. Successfully navigating an interview is not a skill learned in the military but is critical to a successful transition and landing the job you want. Candorful will absolutely help veterans hone their interview skills and confidently navigate even the most challenging job interviews.
I recently retired after a corporate career. My wife works for a veteran service non-profit and suggested I connect with Candorful as a volunteer interviewer. I tried it and immediately was hooked. A lot of the enjoyment I derive comes from helping a community of people who are generally mission-driven, eager for assistance with their career transition, and working hard to improve their skills. I also conduct a lot of the intake meetings where we more informally talk about the program and discuss tips for interviewing. Candorful offers an extremely valuable experience to an extremely deserving community.
