Candlelighters and their beautiful team has been everything to our family. Being from FL, Candlelighters made sure our family had everything we needed to make us comfortable during our lengthy stays. My daughter looks forward to her stays in NY, solely because of this organization. We are beyond blessed that we got to know Barbara, Amy and so many other helpers. They truly made our horrible days brighter. We are grateful.

Candlelighters is one of the kindest and most loving organizations out there. They make you forget for just a moment the dark and scary journey your child is on. They bring so much happiness and joy to so many children. So much love is poured into their mission and the children and it radiates from everyone’s face. Not only are holidays made special for the children but everyday during and after treatment is made special. Candlelighters are special and one of a kind. My family and I are beyond grateful for them!

Candlelighters NYC has been apart of our family for over 5 years. They have created many wonderful memories for our family that we never would of experienced without them. They have amazing celebrations, food, toys and gifts for the kids and parents. They work aimlessly to help turn a frown upside down!!

Candlelighters is more than a non profit- it’s a glimmer of hope for families that so desperately need kindness. Aside from the material things it offers to those who truly need comfort, and a helping hand- it’s the love and support the founder Barbara shows that I’m truly forever grateful for. Barbara is nothing short of a saint- this charity is one very near and dear to my heart, if I could give it 20 stars I would.

I got to see what this organization does 1st hand I was a general Manager at Ricky's NYC and this organization would not only help the children in need but also their parents as well the look on the children's faces and parents after they came in a were able to pick out Halloween outfits for the entire family was priceless God bless the CANDLELIGHTERS and the organization forever I always say if you want to see where your donation goes donate to the candlelighters

When my granddaughter was in active treatment for cancer (Neuroblastoma) at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Candlelighters of NYC was right there with her. The support system they provided my daughter and granddaughter (both from Iowa) was nothing less than a God send. Need a stroller? We’ll have one for you later today. How about a wash and cut mom? From private shopping trips to FAO Schwartz to delivering surprise birthday cakes, to lunches (and much, much more), Candlelighters has ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help families in what is arguably one of the most stressful situations they will ever face. Barbara Zobian and her team of angels deserve all the accolades they receive, and more!

Candlelighters is a truly amazing organization. The events and parties hosted are all unique and so fun. My boys never smile bigger than when they are with the Candlelighters. They bring light to so many children, battling cancer and their families. We have attended Halloween parties concerts Yankee meet ups at FAO Schwarz, what is organization is able to set up an accomplished is truly amazing and we are very grateful to be a part of them and have them in our lives.

I spent a few years volunteering with Candlelighters. It is honestly such an incredible, giving organization that provides light to dark situations. I enjoyed myself immensely. Barbara Zobian is an Angel. Barbara is so giving to the families and I am extremely thankful that I got to work along side of her.

Best of the best. As a mom to a child diagnosed with cancer, I can tell you the support during treatment was so greatly needed. Barbara and her team went above and beyond with us. From the day we met and still to this day.

Such an absolutely kind and generous foundation. Giving comfort and much needed joy for our cancer warrior! If ever a need arises this foundation helps families in every case . Words fall short to be able to express their kindness !!! Planning wonderful events too for these cancer children and helping them in any and every way !

Candlelighters of NYC is amazing. They are so supportive of any and all families that receive treatment for childhood cancer. My son is a survivor now but I still follow the page to see all the support they give to other families like mine. Everything from adaptable strollers for families traveling from afar, to social events for the families, financial support for lodging, and much more. The organization goes above and beyond to for us families.

Candlelighters of New York City is nothing short of amazing. When my son was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma, Barbara was so quick to reach out to us offering levels of assistance from strollers to groceries that I didn’t even realize we would need. The foundation has helped numerous families navigate their way through a difficult time in a busy city. Barbara and her team of helpers are all amazing! They love the children deeply and just want to make them smile.

Candlelighters NYC has been an amazing support for our daughter going through cancer treatment. They provide thoughtful distractions and moral support and bring kids together to share their experiences.

Candlelighters are such a bright light in otherwise dark days. My god daughter's cancer diagnosis was life changing, but Candlelighters made everything easier. We have other kids and they made it easy for us to access strollers which was such a need during our stays. We also enjoyed so many different events where our kids could just be kids like Halloween at the Sugar Factory and Big Apple Circus and so much more. We are so grateful to Candlelighters and everything they've done for our family.

Candelighters has been helping us through our daughter’s cancer treatment for over three years now. Their volunteers are so kind, generous, and loving towards our kids. We have to travel for treatment and we honestly could not have done it without them. We are constantly amazed by their support and care.

A wonderful charity who helped us when we visited New York (from the UK) for a month with our sick daughter last year. The team were great, inviting us to events to entertain not only our daughter, but our two older sons too. We attended the Halloween party, which was great, and they took us all shopping for outfits beforehand.

Nothing but good things to say. Generous, caring people who love their neighbors. So glad to have found out about them when we were being treated at MSK.
Lent us a stroller for our 3-year-old to walk from RMH to MSK, something we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves but such a necessity now!

I hope to meet Barbara in person! We have talked on the phone often!

I have never seen a group more committed to serving the needs of others than I have in my experiences with everyone at Candlelighters. Every child enduring their battle, along with their families, are able to receive support, love and care in many ways some of us wouldn’t even think we would need. It could be as small as a hot meal for you and your family that you don’t have to stress over while your loved one faces their medical trials, or something as fun as a silly party filled with food, toys, games, and a closet full of surprises! They aim to make the children and their families a little more comfortable during their time of discomfort, often going above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend this organization for how it strives to embrace their community.

Candlelighters NYC is the best nonprofit we have come across! They helped us so much in our most trying time in our lives! Our little boy was diagnosed with cancer and we had to travel from Florida to NYC and candlelighters was there for everything! Food toys stroller and so much more! I pray that one day I am able to give back because I am not sure we would have survived NYC without them!!

Without this charity we wouldn't have been able to go to mskcc in nyc and save my sins life. They have and continue to change lives daily in many ways.

Barbara and Candlelighter’s NYC has been there for our family from the beginning (2016) and they’re our forever family. My daughter has been receiving cancer treatment the last 6 years in NYC. It is hard navigating this cancer journey in a city we are not familiar with. Candlelighters of NYC has been with us from the first day we arrive. The volunteers, especially Barbara, has provide us with emotional support as well as giving us fun things to do whenever my daughter is well enough to explore the city. It truly is like family. They would check on us even when we are not in NYC. Candlelighters of NYC truly is a lifesaver for the pediatric cancer families.

Candlelighters has made our trips to NYC for my daughter’s cancer treatment more bearable and even fun! Their volunteers have brought us scooters for my daughter to more easily get around the city, graciously provided grocery cards, trips to the zoo, trips to a day camp, etc. Also, I know that I can call them if ever I need help in the city. It’s so nice to know someone has our back and cares about the kids who come to the city for cancer treatments. Our family is so grateful for all they have done for us and continue to do! They are now like a second family to us.

Prior to our first trip to Memorial Sloan Kettering located in New York City, I was connected with Barbara. Not only sponsor iPhone why she would help every step of the way.
I appreciate any support but I truly was overwhelmed with gratitude when she offered us gift cards to a local grocery store and even brought my daughter a bag full of toys while she was receiving chemotherapy.

This organization shows the true meaning of “angels on earth”. There is nothing they won’t do to make your life easier… while going through the worst time of your life with a child diagnosed with cancer. We met Barbara in the fall of 2016 when we traveled from Kansas to NYC for treatment for our then 3 year old daughter. Over the years, Candlelighters has been a source of comfort, fun and familiarity. Let’s face it - nyc can be a daunting place but we knew we always had someone to call if times got rough. Candlelighters gives us a little bit of normalcy by providing gift cards for groceries, hosting small parties where kids could play and parents could chat, trips to museums and restaurants and even a trip to the hair salon for me! We have always felt loved and taken care of by Barbara and Amy. Their dedication to pediatric cancer families is so beautiful and we are endlessly thankful for their care

Meet and interacted with the director of this organization at a memorial service for a precious child who was near and dear to us. She comforted and held my daughters as they shed tears and when we traveled back home to Texas, my daughters were comforted by the sweet personalized ribbons with pictures that were made by the directors and another lady in the organization.

We have travelled to nyc for treatment for over four years. Candle lighters is always available to help with strollers, gift cards or special events. Barbara also sat with us during my sons surgery and was a huge calming influence on our family. Truly angels!

If I could give Candlelighters NYC a hundred stars, I would!

Our daughter underwent treatment for stage 4 cancer from age 5 to age 9, chemo and radiation and surgeries and clincal trials. But if you asked her today, two years later, what she remembers, she will tell you about princess tea parties in the hospital, a homecooked dinner and friendly company when we were away from home for weeks, toys and activities to keep her busy while she was doing chemo, getting to row on the lake in Central Park. Candlelighters have turned something traumatic into happy memories, a gift that is beyond calculation.

I do remember all her tears, how sick she felt, the pain she endured but I also remember getting a blanket and pillow delivered when I had to stay with her in the ICU, having a volunteer sit with me while I waited through a six hour surgery, a stroller to use to the hospital
and back that was big enough to push my 6-year old in when it hurt too much to walk, and grocery gift cards when the expenses started piling up.

Candlelighters does so much - they pay attention to what each family needs and they do whatever they can to lighten the load and to brighten our kids' days while they undergo cancer treatment. A truly amazing organization filled with wonderful people!

Barbara, of NYC Candlelighters is the most charitable person ever. She does not make you fill out tons of paperwork, show your tax returns or bank statements... If you have a child with cancer and she gets wors you are in NYC, SHE reaches out and gives you a hand up. Doesn't even ask, just gives. She is always doing trips and special events for the families at the Ronald Mcdonald house. Candlelighters is a wonderful organization, especially Candlighters of NY and Barbara.

In what can be difficult circumstances, this non profit bravely and gracefully cares for the most vulnerable kids in our community.

Candlelighters gave us such light during a dark time. They provide so much for so many but for us it was a financial assistance to celebrate chemo ending for our hero daughter, plus multiple events of outings and gifts. Such a wonderful organization run by extreme selfless and loving people.

I can’t imagine what life in NYC with our son, Sam, would have been like without the support of Candlelighters NYC. The emotional and logistical support they provided, not to mention the amazing activities for the kids, were indespensable.

In 2016, my daughter Zoey was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. She was 8 years old. We live in Florida but in 2018 we traveled back and forth to Sloan in New York for treatment. In 2020 during the Pandemic we had to stay for 11 months. It was hard. Hearing my daughter scream in pain during treatment in NY, she got so skinny and we were away from our family, my husband and my other children. It was very rough both emotionally and financially. But Barbara and her team were there to help us, with winter clothes, a wheelchair for Zoey, a birthday cake and gifts for Zoey on her birthday, an IPad for schooling, gift cards for food and even though we are back in Miami, Barbara remembered Zoey during Xmas, a phone call, she is relentless!!!! And Amazing, and we are forever grateful .

We love this amazing organization!!! They are constantly doing fun things for families that are going through something absolutely terrible. Barbara is one of the most generous people I have ever met and the rest of the staff is extremely sweet and considerate. Our family has been extremely cautious with doing many things in NY due to COVID and our son’s treatment regime, but Candlelighters has been so understanding and coming up with safe ways to make these trips a little easier. We can’t wait to check out the apartment this weekend. Whenever I meet a new family that is coming to MSK I always make sure to highly recommend this phenomenal organization!! Thank you candlelighters for all that you do and have done!!!

They just opened the door to a person they never knew or met before. Cooked warm breakfast in their kitchen.
Just dropping off dinner in hospital. Sending tons of presents and so much events in our cancer life.

But from all of that.. The most precious part is, they are always there as friends, when it burns, hurts and somebody is really needed to be hugged.

I was first introduced to Candlelighters during my daughter's treatment at Sloan Kettering in NYC. Being alone with my daughter in the big city was slightly terrifying, but we feel so at "home" now. We have so many fun times at the zoo, the museum and just roaming around NYC in the Ol' Red Stroller provided by Candlelighters. My daughter loves Barbara's dog, Mikey, she still talks about him months later. The generosity that Barabara and all the volunteers have is something magical. It makes me feel loved and cared for as caregiver in a hard time for our family. We look forward to meeting up with our Candlelighters family everything we go to NY for treatment.

Candlelighters has been apart of my life since 2006. As I grew up, they grew with me. Providing anything I needed during treatments and hospital stays whether it being materials I needed or just company to cheer me up. I was a teenager when I walked into the lobby of the NYC Ronald McDonald House late one night in January 2003. I was exhausted from my trip and my dad was checking us in. I sat down next to a sweet woman named Barbara and from that moment on, NYC wasn’t so scary anymore. Barbara sat with me during treatments, brought me crafts during hospital days, took me shopping and to have my hair/nails done, brought me meals, and most of all, became my New York mommy. I love Barbara so much and can’t even begin to express my gratitude for this beautiful organization. They make you feel like a regular kid in a big scary place and when you’re facing an uncertain future it means more than words could describe! Thank you Candlelighters!

We have been bolstered and 100% supported by Candlelighters NYC for years. They have provided for us physically- with food, finances, clothes. They have provided for us emotionally - countless fun distractions for our cancer warrior and her siblings, family parties, OUR DOG!!!! But most importantly, Candlelighters NYC is the embodiment of hope. They do not simply "help families dealing with pediatric cancer." They have created a fierce army of people affected by this awful disease. Kids cannot fight cancer alone. Neither can their loved ones! With Candlelighters NYC, no one is alone. You are always surrounded by warmth, empathy, and support. They ARE the love & friendship that has gotten us through our darkest days, celebrated with us on our brightest days, and simply held our hands all the days in between. Since 2010, my daughter and her son have traveled from KS to NYC for his treatments, scans and surgeries. I find great comfort knowing that CLNYC is there for them, no matter what they need. CLNYC provides tremendous support for all the families requiring life-saving care thousands of miles away from home. As a grandma, I am grateful to CLNYC for the love, care and generosity they have bestowed upon my daughter and her family and all the families for whom they serve.

There are not enough stars to properly represent the magnitude of the positive impact Candlelighters NYC has on the families it serves. No matter what part of the world a family travels from to receive life-saving care at leading hospitals in NYC, the CLNYC volunteer team is there to serve in whatever way needed. CLNYC provides cozy blankets and pillows for unexpected hospital stays, strollers to transport kids back and forth to the hospital, gift cards to help offset high NYC food prices, holiday helpers to make the holidays special and memorable and special outtings and goodies for the patients and their siblings to turn the crappiest days into the happiest. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, parents are overwhelmed and afraid. CLNYC provides joy and hope when families need it most.

Barbara and her team of volunteers are absolutely incredible. They become your family in NYC. When your child is diagnosed with cancer, the focus of your family becomes saving your child. Other things in life take a back seat. The volunteers get this! CandlelightersNYC provides nice strollers for you to use during your stays in NYC - at no cost! Barbara and her team love on your sick child and the siblings like their own children. Our experiences in NYC (some of the lowest points in our lives) have some of the best experiences because of CandlelightersNYC. Hands down, this is an organization that absolutely makes a difference in the lives of the families with a child with cancer.

It's inadequate to describe in words how beautiful of an organization Candlelighters is. I've had the pleasure of volunteering with them, and it has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life. Recently a friend of mine's son was diagnosed with cancer. I thought of Barbara immediately, because I knew she'd be there in a heartbeat when my friend arrived in NYC. The amount of love that Barbara pours into each and every one of her families is unimaginable. Barbara and her team truly know how to turn "crappy into happy," and without Candlelighters many of these families would not feel such a strong support system being away from home. I can't say enough positive things about this organization.

Candlelighters was the best thing that could have happened to us when my brother was going through treatment. It was a time to feel normal outside of such an unconventional life we were living as a family. The happiness it brought us during such times are something we can never repay but are forever grateful for!

Candlelighters helped me and my family in a time of despair. They provided us with financial help during the holidays when my child had relapsed unexpectedly. They sent my daughter a beautiful stroller because she was outgrowing the current one that we had for her. They provide families with a beautiful, clean and safe apartment to go to in between appointments at the hospital. They go above and beyond and do so much for the childhood cancer community. My heart will be forever grateful to them for what they have done for my family and I will always try to give back in any way that I can to show how much we appreciate them!

if you have a kid going through cancer and you are in New York receiving treatment then you need to contact Candlelighters, we met Barbara a day before one of the hardest day of our lives, our daughter Isadri was fighting Retinoblastoma (eye cancer) and the love, help and support that we received from her and everyone from Candlelighters was incredibly!, no matter what you need she will move heaven and earth to find it. She is an amazing lady with a golden heart and she is surrounded by wonderful and caring people who are part of Candlelighters NYC. We will be forever grateful for having them in our lives.

This is probably the most personal organization that we've ever encountered! My son and I have traveled from TX to NYC for his neuroblastoma treatment since 2019. We were welcomed with open arms in the beginning with fun activities held by Candlelighters and showed us NYC that all the more made us feel like instant family. They also extended their kindness by offering an actual city stroller that was so much easier to maneuver! We will forever appreciate their many acts of kindness!

We met Barbara and Candleighters NYC when we came in January 2020 for my son West, who was diagnosed with retinoblastoma that month. Candleighters came to our rescue with a stroller to get around town in! They not only have the biggest hearts, but have been so caring and loving towards our son and our family!

I have watched Barbara and her volunteers do countless acts of service in behalf of “their kids.” You will not meet a better person. Barbara wakes up thinking about what she can do for these kids in need. I have worked with her for years. Candlelighter’s foundation inspired me as an individual and as a company to get involved in doing what we can to help. Amazing foundation that has helped our family in so many ways! We have been away from home for two months for our son's treatment and Candlelighters of New York has assisted us with getting groceries, stroller and making our little boy's birthday special. We absolutely love this nonprofit! Barbara, Amy and Erica are so kind and helpful! They treated us like family when we were away from home getting treatments for our son’s cancer. They are responsive to needs, encourage when it is needed, celebrate with your family and are respectful. Barbara and her group are amazing. Our grand daughter was treated at MSC for Neuroblastoma, a nasty childhood cancer. She and her parents traveled there and had only a few connections in NYC. The Candlelighters and Barbara immediately took them under their wing providing information, activities, entertainment, etc. In a very stressful time they gave our family a sense of normalcy. Also, if you needed something or forgot something Barbara always had a connection to get it or make it happen. A very great organization.

I have been a part of Candlelighters as a donor and a friend for 15 years and have seen first hand the dedication and hard work that this organization has given of themselves. The families who have children with cancer and come for treatment in NYC rely so heavily on the support that Barbara Zobian, the founder and President, and her volunteers give to the families each and every day. We have never met a more passionate group of people. Most of all the leader Barbara. Without hesitation they immediately jump in to help families any way that they can. It is truly amazing. We were fortunate to be the recipients of their love and affection during my daughter's brain cancer treatment and beyond. It is really challenging to be a pediatric cancer family, Barbara and her crew make you feel genuinely welcome, loved and cared for. My daughter was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma last year and her treatment are being done in NYC . I had to leave my job and come to NYC every month I had no family, limited income but I was introduced to Candlelighters of NY. They changed everything about feeling alone away from home. They became my second family, by make sure we have food, shelter and support while We’re in NYC. They have extended a olive branch that is rooted for life. I don’t know what we would do without them. Christmas with was amazing being away from home. No Christmas tree , staying in a hotel room, no family with us but my second family took care of all that. The smiles, the brunch the entertainment and the Candlelighters volunteers!! You guys ROCK!! During a National Pandemic they reached out before family , friends or any other Foundations!!! ( literally a Rock) ❤️������

CandlelightersNYC is an amazing organization that’s our extended family! They provide so much for the children fighting cancer providing amazing events. Not only they care for the children but the parents as well! We are forever grateful to be apart of the CandlelightersNYC family!

My niece was 3 when diagnosed with Leukemia. Her brother was 1. While my niece was going through chemo, my sister (her mom) became pregnant with baby #3. As if having your child go through the tremendously terrifying experience, the abnormality of the waiting periods were also so hard. That’s where Candlelighters was a godsend! Helping not only my niece but her sibling and parents experience a sense of some normalcy in the chaos was uplifting. Arrangements for private experiences to allow neutropenic children to feel like a kid for a little while, without parents having to worry about contamination from contact with someone unknown, is a priceless gift. The genuine love and caring shown by the volunteers for the candlelighters families is reaffirming and makes me a proud supporter of this amazing non-profit!

When this small town, midwest family had to bring their 9 month old little girl to MSK in NY for cancer surgery, Candlelighters of New York was able to answer all of our questions, ease all of our fears and make sure we had everything that we needed for our stay. Candlelighters was there for our family as we travelled from Ky to NYC every three weeks to take part in a clinical trial for my sweet son’s terminal brain cancer. Candlelighters curated the most amazing experiences - through their generosity our family was able to feel comfortable and loved and we made so many cherished memories. Candlelighters will be our family forever. When Bruce passed away after living with brain cancer for 8 months, they were just as much there for us. I will be grateful forever for the love that you shared and the joy that you brought us. Candlelighters is doing something special.

Candlelighters NYC has brought us so much support and comfort over the years as my 4 year old daughter battles an aggressive brain tumor. They have helped us finacially and emotionally. There always providing fun for the children and even had a suprise birthday party for my son after he couldn't be home for it. So grateful to have them in our lives.

This isn’t a foundation they are family. They are always there for you. They turn crappy into happy. Candle lighters been there for us during Holliday to birthday to celebrating all milestones. Thank you for being there for us during our time of need and help creating memories for our son and just being there when you need a blanket or pillow during our child surgery .

Great organization that helps pediatric cancer families in NYC. Majority of the families are not local so to have someone from the NY area to help navigate the city, that’s likes to spoils our cancer kids, and that will help anyway possible make our stay in NY easier. Great organization!

There is not enough good things to say about this organization. It’s like they are magical at anticipating issues. If you’d re sad for whatever reason, they come and pick you up, get you a babysitter and take you out. If your kid is sad, they shower, I mean SHOWER them with toys. (My son is not spoiled, thanks to them!) they are the real deal. The know what you or your kid wants and needs always. When we are beyond this cancer battle, I plan to give back. We love them.

Candlelighters NYC believes that kids can’t fight cancer alone. Our Board consists of parents of kids with cancer and volunteers who work hard to turn crappy into happy for the families that travel to NYC for cancer treatment.

When our five year-old son was diagnosed with cancer and he was receiving treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Barbara, the President and founder of Candlelightersnyc, was extremely helpful in helping us cope both socially and emotionally. Barbara and her amazing team of volunteers would turn our crappiest of days into the best of days. They are an amazing organization and each and every member has a heart of gold. This organization is top notch!

Candlelighters New York is a phenomenal organization. They go above and beyond to help families at the toughest times of their lives.
They provide support, comfort and friendship to families when they arrive in New York and are a huge resource for anyone in the cancer community.

Candlelighters New York City has been amazing positive force in supporting me and my infant son while he traveled to New York City for specialty Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering cancer center. The many volunteers have been like family, providing the community support that is so necessary for families like mine. They host fun get togethers (see pic of baby Timmy at a Candlelighters NYC Taco night), provide opportunities for entertainment for both the cancer kids and their family members, occasional pampering for moms and dads, gift cards for restaurants and groceries (a lifesaver in NYC when kids need a special diet), and even a safe space to cry with no judgment.

Every member of Candlelighters, from Barbara the founder down to the college students who volunteer, has been full of love, empathy and joy, and I am honored after a year and a half of being benefited by their organization to call them friends. It's an amazing organization made up of amazing people.

Candlelighters is our home away from home. They are family to us and always there in dark times and bright times. Always there every step of the way. We’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime. Candlelighters of NYC has been one the greatest blessings our family has had. Traveling thousands of miles from home for life saving treatment for our son in NY was a great stress. The entire organization eased that burden and made us feel so at ease. Anything we needed day or night Candlelighters was there. We were never alone in the city because we had our new family in Candlelighters. Words can't express how truly thankful we are for them!

Candlelighters is a home away from home. Barbara is like a fairy godmother. When my son was getting his bone marrow transplant we signed up online and got a phone call right away welcoming our family with open arms. Our son had been diagnosed with high risk ALL leukemia and needed to get a bone marrow transplant that resulted in then staying pretty much isolated from the world as well as going through ups and downs where he didn't always feel good about himself. Candlelighters foundation helped our son as well as our other children feel special and allowed him to really enjoy himself in an environment where we knew we could feel comfortable. Also as a parent being a part of this foundation has helped me heal being surrounded by many other beautiful families fighting similar battles. This foundation is more than just a foundation it's a bond that I will always be grateful for.

We have been a part of this organization for over 9 years! My daughter was diagnosed with Stage IV neuroblastoma as an infant. We are from California and came to NYC for the best chance at survival with a team of specialist at MSKCC. Candlelighters has been a lifeline resource for us since, Barbara is our family & she takes care of us just like family! Everything from emotional support, to finding local doctors for eye appointments etc...she is always there. She provides an outlet of fun & much needed support for children and families in situations like ours. It's amazing and just as much as an emotional life saver, as the medical life savers treating my child. She cares and loves each child, sibling, parent like her own. And her volunteers, exact examples of unshelfish, heartfelt people who love these kids and families.

Candlelighters is not your average cancer group. There are so many wonderful groups out there that provide financial assistance to families in need; Candlelighters is so much more. We are a family.
Candlelighters provides the love, friendship, hope and sanity that pediatric families need. They embrace the whole family, and introduce them to other families in similar situations.
Candlelighters is a friendly face at the airport or train station. Candlelighters is a hand to hold and a shoulder to cry on in your darkest moments. Candlelighters share tears of joy at a good prognosis. Candlelighters is a perfect Christmas morning with every request for Santa fulfilled. It is a birthday party, a fairytale dress, Halloween costumes and parties, an every day wish granter. Candlelighters provides a home (and a family) away from home, so that children, their siblings and parents don't feel quite so lost when facing treatments and procedures. Candlelighters is a Hero Parade, a rally, a fight with friends to never lose hope. Candlelighters is also a link to other amazing opportunities and organizations that parents not versed in "cancer survival" would not otherwise no about.
The best part about Candlelighters is that they take care of your child (& you!) through the bad times AND the good. Unlike most organizations, Candlelighters is well aware of how deep and permanent pediatric cancer scars go. Children 1, 5, 10, 15 years NED are celebrated. Angels are lovingly remembered, and their families are still taken care of.
Running in to Barbara Zobian was a blessing. She and, the entire Candlelighters organization, have been and continue to be a tremendous source of support and positive energy for my daughter and for my whole family. Candlelighters are truly angels on Earth

When we were many hours away from friends and family, People told us of an amazing woman named Barbara. She was all that and more. Barbara and Candlelighters threw Nina a birthday party and brought unbelievably wonderful distraction opportunities into our challenging lives. It was medicine for our soul and brought a much needed light into my daughter's days. Unbelievable organization deserving of support!
