I support the Cancer Support Community of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties because it has been so helpful to me and to so many others ( cancersupportvvsb.org}
I have gentle yoga classes, relaxation and meditation classes, and prostate support classes that have made a great difference in my life. I also did an exercise class designed for cancer patients and a nutrition consultation that were very helpful in ordering my lifestyle for optimum health. I am grateful that my cancer led me to the right place for me.

When I was diagnosed with cancer I activly searched for support for my wife. Caregivers often have a more difficult time dealing with the diagnosis than the patient. I found a community fairly close, and my wife and I checked out a support program. I have recieved invaluable information and support from them ever since. I have recieved valuable information concerning my disease, treatments, questions to ask doctors, how to be your own advocate. I have learned stress reduction methods from exercises to meditation, to healthy cooking, and more. These programs fill a gap left by the medical community. The Cancer Support Community doesen't just make dealing with the disease bearable but rewarding in so many ways. I have also become a volunteer.

A great organization with warm and caring staff and a wealth of information for anyone affected by cancer but especially for the caregivers. Cannot recommend it too highly. Their online support is a real strong point for anyone beyond the reach of one of their affiliates around the country.
