My husband has spent nearly 50 years working in business and nonprofit. Rarely has he ever brought stories home about work, good or bad. He currently works at the Cancer Recovery Foundation International I Harrisburg, PA and he has begun to share work stories with me. His stories describe how the charity provides assistance to active cancer patients who have become financially distressed as a result of the added expenses that accompany cancer treatment. He tells me that he feels proud and happy each day to be able to help these cancer patients.
My life has been touched by cancer as well. My younger sister, Marion, had leukemia and I remember the struggles our family faced financially. I am so proud that my husband is able to do such a fine thing.
