The Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund is our go to source for up to date information about prescribed drugs and treatments. We hold the deepest respect for the work that Diana Zuckerman and her staff do to educate and advocate for safe medicines and treatments.
The Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund developed one of the first (and in many areas of the country only) patient booklets for a kind of breast cancer called DCIS. Sometimes labelled Stage 0, it's a common form of breast cancer that patients are told is "the best kind to have," while at the same time being told they need surgery and even radiation afterwards. The Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund's booklet has been an invaluable source of information for confused patients trying to understand their diagnosis and make treatment decisions. This is just one example of the kind of work the Fund does, which is sifting through all the research to make clear for patients and their families what we know and don't yet know about their condition in clear everyday language. I've had the privilege of overhearing staff handle hotline calls about cancer: if they don't have the answers, they make sure to find them. In a world of harried doctors and nurses, it's so wonderful to know that there's an organization like the Fund that cares and is dedicated to providing evidence-based information. Most importantly, the Fund doesn't take money from companies that have a stake in cancer diagnostic tests or treatments.

No other cancer organization or charity does what the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund does! It disseminates evidence-based information about how to minimize your risk of developing cancer as well helps patients and families get answers to tough questions about which cancer treatments really work or are worthwhile. In addition to helping individual patients, the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund educates policy-makers and health care providers who may not be able to keep up with all the latest research or who may not see past the hype of pharmaceutical companies. CPTF is unbiased, and its mission simple: to enable consumers and patients to longer, better lives.
I have worked with this organization for years and know it to be one of the most well managed, ethical and effective advocacy voices out there.
The Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund was incredibly helpful in providing reliable information for my grandpa was dealing with his cancer treatment. The staff are helpful, supportive, and always eager to answer any questions patients have.
I am so grateful that the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund exists. It is a voice I can trust for unbiased information at a time when many websites and social media seem to have abandoned science. As a health professional myself, I know a good source of information when I find one! It’s great that everything they do is provided to the public for free. So thank you for all you do! I have referred many friends, family members, and colleagues to the Fund.

I trust this organization to give me unbiased medical information - both in their newsletters and also when contacting them directly. This has ranged from the treatment of breast cancer, to health issues involving undocumented immigrants, to anorexia in children, to COVID-19 testing of healthcare workers, and more. I am grateful that such an organization exists, especially now when politicians are attempting to invade science and public health for non-medical goals.
I have had the privilege of seeing the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund in action, most especially as a trusted and valued information resource for cancer patients, their families, and their physicians. Thoughtful, thorough and passionate in its research and advocacy, the Fund has earned its status as a respected and influential voice dedicated to protecting the health and well-being of individuals and shaping informed public policies. A distinguishing feature of its work is its focus not only on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and personalized support for individuals facing cancer challenges, but also on strategies to prevent cancer through personal, community and national interventions. The Fund is especially well-known and valued for its cutting edge leadership around breast cancer as well as all things FDA-related, including assuring the safety and effectiveness of cancer drugs and treatments.
The Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund is an invaluable organization. Their website serves as an important first step to those seeking cancer answers. This is a top-notch organization that follows the science to protect public health. As someone who was personally diagnosed with cancer, and who has supported many friends and family through cancer, I am deeply grateful for the invaluable work of the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund.
The National Center for Health Research does a terrific job of evaluating scientific data and presenting it in language readily understandable for policy makers and lay people alike. It often addresses issue of particular concern for women, some of which get ignored by many other organizations.

I continue to be impressed by the National Center for Health Research's Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund. They remain focused on providing current and relevant information on their website, conducting research, providing a helpline, advocating for change in a type of cancer, BIA-ALCL caused by some types of breast implants.

The Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund does an excellent job at providing accurate, accessible information about one of healthcare's most pressing concerns. You can rely on them to do thorough research and prioritize the patient over industry.
Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund is a vital hub that connects us to reliable, deeply helpful resources that actually frame cancer issues and interventions in their full context, with patient advocacy in mind. CPTF’s tireless research and advocacy benefits cancer patients, family caregivers, clinicians, and patient advocates, as well as journalists, regulators, and policymakers. Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund has supported countless communities affected by cancer over the years, with 3 particular strengths:
(1) I trust CPTF because they know that “cancer prevention” must be about stopping cancer where it starts, wherever we can--not only generating better information about cancer’s causes and effects , but actually acting on this data!
(2) I feel heard and represented by CPTF because they know that “cancer treatment” must be higher quality, more affordable, and humane for everyone dealing with a diagnosis—cancer treatments should actually work to extend and improve life, without bankrupting families or adding more barriers to an already unequal healthcare system.
(3) CPTF works to correct misconceptions and health inequities, while doing what patient advocates have long hoped for: connecting traditionally-separate fields of cancer prevention and cancer treatment on behalf of health justice for all people.
As both a cancer caregiver and health communication professional, I support CPTF and regularly use and turn to their materials and resources, and hope you will choose to do so too!
- Marie Garlock, PhD, Health Communication Educator and Cancer Caregiver
Diane Zuckerman and her team at the cancer prevention and treatment fund has the right kind of passion and drive to help connect individuals suffering from cancer with the newest and most helpful literature on specific cancer research publications. She just simply wants to help patients see through the often confounding literature that is out there in times of urgent need.
The Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund's one-of-a-kind help line and and unparalleled patient booklets are invaluable resources for anyone dealing with cancer. They summarize the latest patient-centered evidence to help cancer patients decide between treatment options. Anyone who has dealt with cancer knows how important understandable and trustworthy information is, and the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund delivers just that, free of charge for anyone who needs it.
Many family and friends have found themselves in a quandrie about their best course of action in treating their cancer diagnosis. As a matter of supporting their journey, I refer them to the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund as a resource for trustworthy information. This organization studies the research and trials for best practices in scientific evidence. As a non-profit, their recommendations on prevention and treatments are always independent of industry influence, and take into consideration the risks, benefits, quality of life, and the outcomes that patients care about most. They have been an invaluable partner to many searching for answers to their cancer related questions. I trust the integrity of the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund to work on behalf of what is best for patients.
The Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund is always available to assist patients and patient advocates who need information or are working on improving medical treatments and information. The CPTF has accurate evidence-based and unbiased health information. Their knowledge of medical research and the history of drugs and device treatments is crucial in helping ordinary people, real patients and advocates, understand both the past as well as the present treatments and regulations. CPTF’s willingness to share their hard earned knowledge with patients and advocates enables them to focus on issues that are most important. CPTF does not accept money from the pharmaceutical or device industry so they are truly an independent and reliable source for accurate information about drug treatments and device safety. As a patient advocate, I am so grateful that the CPTF exists.
It's thanks to CPTF that our small non-profit was able to convince lawmakers in our state legislature and our county council that we were RIGHT. CPTF helped us show that the materials in synthetic turf and synthetic playgrounds are dangerous --toxic, carcinogenic and endocrine disrupting. CPTF's well-respected profile gave us the credibility that we could not have achieved by ourselves, as non-scientists and "just" civic activists. It was so important to our advocacy, to be able to call on CPTF for independent and authoritative testimony in support of our case. The folks at CPTF clearly have tremendous passion for their work, and we are grateful for their collaboration.
