Cancer and Careers provides so many helpful resources and meaningful guidance on managing the balance of work and cancer. This can be a very stressful and confusing dynamic, but they offer patients the confidence to understand what to share, questions to ask, their employee rights, among so many other tips. Cancer and Careers supplied me with resources at the most pivotal moment of my early career. I was a college graduate working at an ice cream shop to pay my bills while undergoing cancer treatment. I learned about Cancer and Careers and applied for the Technology Assistance Program. I had an old and broken laptop that made it almost impossible to type and therefore working on my resume and cover letters for potential jobs was impossible. I received this incredible laptop and it led me to being able to apply for opportunities after treatment that I could not have even imagined. With their financial support and resources provided through their conferences and resource bank, I landed a well-paying job in a new city that I love. I could not speak more highly of CAC

As an oncology social worker who supports people with cancer and their loved ones, frequent conversations about topics including employment and employee rights, disability benefits and health insurance coverage, among other work-related matters, arise. During these times, my go-to resource for information and support is Cancer and Careers. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, personable and accessible. The information they offer is very helpful to many people with cancer and the advocacy work they do for those most in need is outstanding. There is a wealth of information and tools available on their website, much of which I offer to print for anyone interested in them. And it would be difficult putting into words all the benefits the many webinars and virtual conferences offer for professionals, people with cancer and their loved ones who attend them. It truly is a wonderful service for all who may benefit. Keep doing what you do Cancer and Careers!

CAC is an incredible organization that has touched the lives of so many cancer, patients and survivors through incredible programming.

I volunteered on the Cancer and Careers Young Professionals Committee where we were committed to supporting the mission of Cancer and Careers through fundraising efforts. I liaised with CAC staff and committee members to execute projects and programs in support of CAC.

The staff are deeply invested in providing excellent programming and demonstrate inspirational leadership for nonprofits across the globe.

It is challenging enough to endure a cancer diagnosis and treatment, but the financial stressors and employment concerns can make it almost unbearable. I was Blessed to receive a scholarship to participate in their Mid West conference on cancer and career. Based on their recommendations I later received vocational rehabilitation. Please support this organization which fills in the missing puzzle piece for patients and survivors who are overwhelmed.

As the husband of a cancer survivor, I really appreciate the valuable work that this organization does. It seems that almost nobody one sees at the hospital really cares for the parts of patient welfare that can't be addressed with medical intervention. Medical inervention is, of course, of incredible importance, and we appreciate it greatly. However there is so much more involved in dealing with cancer that is also highly significant. Just dealign with trying to live a regular live and keep a career going is so important, and it's great to have a resource who treat this aspect of cancer as a primary goal. I was particularly impressed when, at a Cancer and Careers meeting, I saw an employer actively participating and asking how he could support his employees. He got ready and constructive support from the organization, showing the they see the prtobnzem from all persepectives, and are able wo work with all stakeholders. I was also very impressed with a session on Body Confidence/Self Confidence. This is an aspect that I hadn't really though about until this orgahization brought it to my consciousness, It's a great organization that plays a vital role that no one else addresses Hat'f of to them.

I attended C & C National Conference in person several ago as a survivor. Although I had completed my treatment and had been cancer free for a number of years, I found the sessions I attended very helpful for me and others I knew who were going through treatment at the time. Two sessions that came to mind immediately were one on nutrition and one given by the lawyers who deal with the ADA. I learned a things that were helpful to me as well as things that I could pass on to others.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I felt that I was dying. Cancer and Careers gave me hope with the valuable information they gave me through the various workshops they offered. I learned how to regain control over my emotions and felt less vulnerable with the information about the law, how to protect my privacy, and how to respond to questions in job interviews.
I also learned how to nourish my body with excellent nutritious tips.
They also provided me with a lap top that I use almost the entire day and has helped me to continue taking their workshops.
Cancer and Careers not only helped me to make an excellent come back to my professional life, but it also provided ne with the tools to work on my mental health. Every time I interact with the staff I feel respected and loved

I have been an oncology social worker for over 37 years. I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2023. Oddly I ran the Multiple myeloma support group for over 12 years so I knew way more about it than the normally newly diagnosed patient. What I did not know was how to navigate it as a patient. It has been awesome to watch the webinars with new eyes and take on the issues as a patient. I am still working so navigating treatment and work life balance has been quite an issue. I had a bone marrow transplant at the end of May and had to take off 6 months which was the longest I have been off work in my adult career. I also have some issues with financial toxicity as I was not prepared for all the costs and living on disability for that long. I am fortunate to know the resources available to me and have a great social worker assigned to help me.

Our company engaged Cancer + Careers to help us activate our Working with Cancer pledge. We felt their impact from our very first meeting, and they were instrumental in helping us to chart a course of action that was thoughtful and inclusive. Employee feedback from the panels and trainings they lead is consistently positive, and I've recommended them enthusiastically to other organizations who are hoping to speed impact for their employee populations.

After being subjected to disability discrimination and retaliation in the workplace, I found Cancer and Careers online. I received free publications, which I shared with my employer when I quit my job. The information this organization provides on reentering the workforce after cancer has been very beneficial to me. Great organization - Thank you!

I work for an AYA program in a hospital and am constantly refering YA's to cancer and careers for sample resumes, workshops, and interview tips. Cancer and careers offers the best advice for young adults who's employment has been affecting by they're diagnoses.
