Mission: To raise funds for the establishment & operation of a children's museum in westchester county.
Programs: The cwcm held the following three (3) programs during the fy16-17 fiscal year. The first was an open house recognition event for the campaign's founding family members on october 1, 2016. The cwcm welcomed nearly 200 members who supported the cwcm's efforts to open the westchester children's museum. The second program was the cwcm's participation in the museum's challenge grant program. Initiated by a challenge from artswestchester, the cwcm engaged in an effort to secure and exceed the $5,000 challenge opportunity. Funds raised were used to support programming for organizations serving children and families most in need of informal learning experiences. As a result of the fundraising efforts, the museum provided 196 programs reaching nearly 4,000 children over the course of the fy16-17 year. The final program was the celebration of the museum's first anniversary of having the museum operational on a year-round basis. Held on april 29, 2017, the museum' "first birthday" welcomed over eight hundred people from throughout its service area to participate in a number of hands-on science and arts activities. Several of the museum's partners were present and added to the celebration.
