Mission: Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the #1 birth defect in the world. Each year over 40,000 babies are born with congenital heart disease in the United States alone. As medical advances make it possible for many children with CHD to survive, it becomes critical to ensure their emotional, psychosocial, and physical needs are met in order for them to grow into confident and successful adults. Camp Taylor’s caters to the needs of the underserved population of pediatric cardiology by creating positive experiences in their lives through educational and self-esteem building medically supervised camp programs. The programs not only target the children with heart disease but their entire family because at Camp Taylor we believe that by supporting the family as a unit, we can enrich the life of all family members that will last throughout the year and impact their everyday life.
Target demographics: children with CHD and their families.

We are the only program of our kind in central and northern california. We offer our campers the dream and reality of attending camp. A priceless opportunity to feel "normal" surrounded by children like themselves. Our campers grow physically, emotionally and mentally while making lifelong friends. The immediate impact that a week at camp creates in their young lives is life changing. When our campers return home and start their new school year they're empowered with new found self-esteem and a great knowledge that they are not alone in this world in their fight against heart disease. Our camp program reaches the children we serve at a depth not available in a doctor's office or hospital environment. Camp is a safe haven a world away from the daily trials of living with their disease.
