Mission: To support programs designed to aid in the rehabilitation and reintergration of u. S. Military service members, veterans and their families, through inclusive outdoor recreation activities.
Programs: Camp liberty provides outdoor recreation programs such as hunting, fishing, conservation work, kayaking, and camping to augment and improve the treatment of u. S. Military veterans and service people that are recovering from traumatic brain injuries and post traumatic stress disorders. These programs are offerred primarily at the 137 acre property that is leased for this purpose. The expenses are directly related to providing these programs. These programs are funded through the fundraising efforts conducted by camp liberty volunteers. An annual fundraising banquet provides funding for much of the programs provided to the military veterans. The eisenhower center provided a $10,086 donation to support these programs. Camp liberty provides outdoor recreation programs as a way to connect with and educate to u. S. Military members and veterans that traumatic brain injury programs and post traumatic stress disorders are treatable. These events are successful in creating the relationship and identifying individuals that could benefit from tbi and ptsd treatment, and camp liberty's outdoor recreation programs. Events include fishing tournaments, hunting events, and professional and college sporting events. Camp liberty works with several strategic partners that provide the funding for the costs of the events, and camp liberty volunteers coordinate and run these events. Camp liberty receives no direct income, nor incurs any direct expenses in these programs, but successfully connects the military veterans and service people with many resources that assist them as well as acting as a conduit to get individuals into proper treatment programs.
camp liberty volunteers provided over 200 presentations in 2016 and reached more than 10,000 people affiliated with or supportive to our u. S. Military members and veterans with a message that traumatic brain injuries and post traumatic stress disorders are treatable, and that camp liberty acts as a resource for information and referrals for effective treatment options, programs and other veteran resources. This program incurs no expenses as all presentations are performed by volunteers who seek no reimbursement for their efforts.
