Camelot for Children is one of the most phenomenal communities that I am lucky enough to be a part of. The Directors, Emily and Lisa, are absolutely the best. As a member of the board of directors, I am in awe of the magic that happens at Camelot. It is an inclusive, supportive environment where kids of all abilities can have fun and enjoy the magic of their childhood! Most importantly, I am a mother to a member of the Camelot community who feels genuine joy when she is in the company of this dynamic, caring group. She created a canvas highlighting the summer activities of her magical summer at Camelot! Thank you for all that you do for the children. We are blessed everyday by Camelot for Children.

We were looking for activities for our special needs daughter to participate in. When she was of age, we became part of the Camelot family. Emily and Lisa are amazing ladies who go above and beyond to put together activities/events for the children/youth. During COVID, they kept the activities going through zoom which kept the youth involved and still seeing their friends. There were drive by events that took place, such as a prom, where music was played by a car at the end of the drive way. Some of the amazing events are day camp ( last 2 weeks in June-July), fishing trip, prom night, trunk or treat, family holiday party- just to name a few. The volunteers (buddies) work very well with the children/youth and become close friends. This is a place where your child can come and be themselves and feel safe. Very proud to be part of the Camelot family.

Volunteering at Camelot has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I started when I was 11 with my older brother. I’m not going to lie, my first day I was extremely nervous, but the second I walked through the doors and into the big room all of those nerves disappeared and I was welcomed with open arms. Five years later, Camelot still brings a smile to my face and warms my heart! Camelot has taught me a lot of valuable lessons and helped shape me into the person I am today.

Our 12 year old daughter Emilee with Down Syndrome and ASD attended Summer Camp there this year for the first time. It was a great experience for her and us. We only wish we would have found out about them sooner. All of the staff, volunteers and kids there were very welcoming. It is a great opportunity for our daughter to socialize with other kids who have similar challenges and make new friends and they provide so many activities from field trips to all of the groups and individuals who volunteer their time to come in and entertain the kids. She can't wait to go back. I would like to thank all of the staff, board members, volunteers and donors for everything you do to keep this place going. It is a wonderful organization with a great facility to provide experiences for these kids that will last a lifetime.

I've been volunteering at Camelot for Children both as a buddy and Junior Board member for the past 4 years and it has truly been an eye-opening experience. Forging special connections with the campers and creating lasting memories through the years is something I greatly cherish about Camelot and has made me enthusiastic about working with kids in the future. In addition, participating on the Junior Board to schedule upcoming events during the school year has strengthened my communication and leadership skills. I love volunteering at Camelot and would definitely suggest it to anyone!

Camelot for Children is an amazing environment for kids + teens (around 5-19) who are physically or mentally challenged. Personally, I've learned a lot from the Camelot children I've worked with and grown into a more mature and sympathetic person. Overall, Camelot for Children is a worthwhile experience you're be able to see once in a lifetime!

My sister has gained so much from being a kid a Camelot for Children that it inspired me & my fiancé to volunteer this summer. I also inspired nearly 30 of my co-workers to come to volunteer at summer camp. They thoroughly enjoyed the kids! On the last day of camp, there were tears of sadness because camp was over & joy because everyone felt so connected. Friends for life! Come volunteer at Camelot - it's awesome!

Camelot has provided a first class environment for our daughter to make new friends and to participate in a variety of activities independent of her family. For 8 years she had been a Camelot kid, now she is a volunteer in training. The volunteer program is teaching these young adults responsibility and dependability. We hope to be part of the Camelot family for years to come.

Our daughter has participated in Camelot activities for nearly 10 years, and has loved every moment! Great variety of activities and fun - both on-site and off-site. Summer camp, the annual prom, Christmas party, Halloween dance party, and just hanging out with friends have created great memories. Camelot provides confidence that your child is in a safe place, able to have fun without mom or dad having to carefully supervise - parents are welcome to stay onsite or do drop off to provide some independence for your child (I think that's what was initially so appealing to my daughter!). But the backbone of the experience is the amazing volunteers - they are energetic, supportive and have a true desire to form the relationships that keep the participants coming back for more. Thank you for all you do to continue to make Camelot a haven for children and families, and the drive to keep making it better and better!

I was fortunate this year to attend the finale of Camelot's summer camp. I wish the public knew how much the Camelot kids and their siblings gained each year from attending this seven week program, which is entirely free to the Camelot families. Many of the Camelot kids, who all share a common bond of being chronically ill, terminally ill or disabled, were so proud to show the visitors their "talents", support each other and introduce us to their friends and buddies. Additionally, it was inspiring to see the volunteers motivate and encourage these kids and the other volunteers to bring out the best in each Camelot kid. Camelot is truly a MAGICAL place - not just for the Camelot kids but for the volunteers, staff and friends of Camelot too.

My child has been a Camelot kid for 5 yrs. he’s my grandson who I’ve been raising since birth. He loves the teen dances and the Sunday events they have. He has made friends and has learned a lot about socializing and interacting with others. The staff and volunteers are wonderful. Whenever you have a question or concern their always right there to help out.
The summer program is fabulous. They have so much for the kids to do. My child is 15 and there’s no other programs during the summer which he could attend because of his age. I work 8 hrs a day and he’s unable to stay alone that long so having a place like Camelot is so special. We live week to week on my pay and having people support Camelot with scholarships and grants takes such a weight off my shoulders. Thank you for your generosity.

Sharing time as kids - just kids - not seeing limitations or differences - is transformational to the spirit and humanity of the experience not only for the children Camelot for Children serves, but for the "buddies" who share the experience. Teaching the youth of today that our differences and limitations are what make us all unique and beautiful is done through sharing of time and activities and partnering. As a Mom of two buddies, my heart is overwhelmed with happiness to hear and see the joy given and received to my kids each time they are Camelot. The experiences they share have positively influenced and taught them more about life and humanity than I ever could dream! Thank you Camelot!

When I needed community service hours for church back in the seventh grade my mom saw an ad in the newspaper for a summer camp for children with special needs. I had originally signed myself up for a week of volunteering but I quickly fell in love with the children and activities we did with them. I’m writing this now as a senior in high school and the president of the Camelot for Children Junior Board. Not only did volunteering here provide me with amazing experiences and stories but it also helped me choose my career path. I plan to major in special education next year in college and I owe it all to this amazing nonprofit.

Camelot is a wonderful resource for any child with a chronic condition. It gives them a chance to socialize amongst their peers. It is equally important for children without special needs who volunteer. It shows them not to take daily tasks for granted. I love the fact that my teenage son volunteers there. Words seriously cannot describe how phenomenal this organization is. Everyone is truly a family it’s unparalleled. I have been volunteering there for five years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The opportunities that are offered are immeasurable for both the kids and volunteers. From visiting zoos to having sports teams volunteer their time for us, there is something for everyone which hits close to home for many people. Today, there is so much discrimination and lack of inclusion for others but Camelot goes against this and has a place for everyone to feel loved and accepted

Camelot for children is a unique and marvelous place,

It exists to provide children with disabilities with an environment to be themeselves and also grow. The Camelot team and board has one basic goal which is to provide an ideal environment for kids with challenges allowing them to make connections, excel, and develop life skills. Camelot is staffed by many incredible local teens, from various high schools, who serve as buddies. In this role they pair up with the kids to work with them, share in activities, but also to become their friends. These students also have the opportunity to serve on the Camelot Junior board and determine the future direction of the organization which is quite unique and allows the activities and Camelot curriculum to be dynamic and always improving.

My daughter Caroline has been a Camelot Kid for nearly 8 years and it is, without question, her favorite place in the world. She attends nearly all scheduled activities and also has been a regular participant in the Camelot Camp which spans 6 weeks during the Summer. The camp includes activities at Camelot but also trips to throughout the Lehigh Valley to other organizations committed to enriching the lives of the children. As Caroline has become older she has been able to play more of a counselor-type role for some of the younger campers. She has made too many friends to mention at Camelot. The organization has provided her with hours of enjoyment and and also a true sense of self-worth. As a parent I am grateful that Camelot has been part of our community.

Please consider donating to Camelot for Children. This is truly and incredible organization deserving of your support!

I have had the pleasure to learn more about Camelot for Children in the past 2 years and I'm so glad that I've had the opportunity to do so. I was given the chance to see firsthand the children served by Camelot when I attended the closing ceremonies of their annual summer camp. The children served by Camelot have the opportunity to grow and take part in so many activities, some of which they might not otherwise be able to. The volunteers and staff are ready and willing to help these children and you can see that they also benefit from the experience. It is my sincere hope that more people can learn about the wonderful work being done by Camelot for Children and that more children and their families can benefit from their services.

Camelot is an unbelievable place for the kids with mental challenging deficiencies, physically impaired, terminal sickness, and other handicaps. The kids do not feel out of place here because there are other kids there with sicknesses like theirs, so all of the kids are the same in their eyes. They have tremendous volunteers, super high school kids from all over the Leigh Valley, fantastic parents and employers come in to volunteer also.
I was president of a local classic car club (Classy Cruisers Club Of Bethlehem Pa) and we worked with Camelot. For years we gave an extensive amount of money donations from holding a car show once a year and cruises twice a month. This helped them with the money needed for equipment. In the backyard we installed a plastic and resin playground for them which is set up so everyone wheel chair bound or not can use the playground. Camelot holds many activities for the kids, a camp for the kids so the can have free and educational time with all the volunteers for a week. This is something I'm not sure any other non profit does, they hold a prom night for the kids that do not get to go to the high school at the Camelot house. Folks that have a classic car volunteer to pick some of the kids up at their home and take them to Camelot as their limos.
When you come to Camelot house for the first time and see the work they do, you are immediately hooked. The job they do with all the kids, no one kid is treated any different the any other. One other thing they have is a parent date night child care so mom and dad can get a break. This is what Camelot is all about.
I believe if you came to Camelot House you will see the beautiful work they do. Please consider Camelot House for your Top Rated Nonprofit .

At Camelot, children, who live with disabilities, experience an environment of love, support, kindness, acceptance and FUN! Not only is it an immensely positive place for the children attending as campers, but also for the volunteers. I wholeheartedly recommend Camelot for Children. I have been Board Member and volunteer medical staff at this magical place in
Allentown, PA where children with special needs get to experience fun and friendships throughout the year. Equally as important to me is the the time spent with regional high schoolers that come to share their talents and compassion in such an inclusive environment, while developing the skills to be the teachers, social service workers, and health care providers of the next generation.
