Amazing program that works to help our community. My first time I was just part of the public. By the time I got my food I had asked about volunteering. I started the next month and have been going ever since. The people are awesome. We all enjoy helping the community as well as being together. The food given away is good food. It definitely helps our family get by, and so many others. Worth going to, but even more so worth volunteering as well!
I take a day of work off each month to help those that are less fortunate.
the board members in this group are outstanding, and kudos to all the people that volunteer each month. Giving back to the community is the best thing that you can do for your community.
A few years ago we would go to CSF and sit in the parking lot and wait hours to get food. Then we found out about Volunteering. We love volunteering at CSF.
I have been volunteering with Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution for fifteen plus years. I have watched it grow and develop into a well organized non-profit distribution. As a board member, we strive to get the best quality and quantity food for our community and volunteers. All the volunteers are committed work hard each month.
I have volunteered off and on here for the past year. The other volunteers have always welcomed me and I feel I am making a big difference when participating in this program. It is a great feeling to see the look on someone's face when they realize just how much food and other supplies they will receive.
The Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution is a very well run "event"
The volunteers are very friendly and the cart is overflowing that gets loaded into my car.
Thank you volunteers for all your hard work
The CSFD has helped so many families in Cambridge and the surrounding communities. The volunteers are the greatest and most hardworking people I've ever met. Quite a few are in their golden years but they work just as hard as the younger people who volunteer. If people are looking to volunteer somewhere, CSFD is a rewarding place to do that.
My husband and I started volunteering in August of 2017. A few months later we were asked to join the board. We are very blessed to able to bless others. It's a lot of work and I admit I am sometimes sore the next day but it is so worth it. If it wasn't for the volunteers we would not be able to bless our community.
I retired in early 2017 and was looking for something to do. I had seen posts by Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution on Facebook. They stated that they were looking for volunteers to help out. It came to my heart that I should see what I could do to help them. In August 2017 my wife and I went there and asked what we could do. It Turned out there was plenty that we could do. I was impressed that they ask if you have any limitations and work around that.
We made it every distribution because we enjoyed helping out and enjoyed the people there. I also get a good feeling knowing at the end of the day we were able to help out so many families.
We have been added to the Board of Directors and like getting to know these people even more.
I started coming here in April of 2016 for food. It helped my family out. In Aug. 2016 I started volunteering and really enjoyed it; it was a lot of fun. September 2016 my husband got laid off and I was so glad I had CSFD to come to get food. I really enjoy helping others, by serving them, because it is the only way I can help not have funds to give others.
The group of volunteers and board member are awesome and fun to volunteer with! So I became a board member in November 2016. To this day I'm still a board member and I love knowing and seeing that we are able to help provide food to each of our guests that are in need. Some guests come every month and we get to know them. All the smiles, the thanks you's for what I'm doing each month, and the thanks you's for the food we serve them makes me feel good. All the hours of behind the scenes volunteering our time to be able to help those in need makes it all worth it.
