Mission: Cambodia's hope intends to generate opportunities for less fortunate children in cambodia, leading with our heads as well as our hearts. We will create a nurturing environment for children to reach their highest human potential through education, recreation and health. We will support children to become self-sustaining leaders in business, academia and agriculture in cambodia, to help fill the intellectual and cultural void caused by the human decimation of recent decades. With privilege we are entrusted with the ability and responsibility to reach towards, not look away.
Programs: Medical clinic expenses
the palm tree center is a registered orphanage and school in phnom penh, the capital of cambodia. Located on a large city lot, the orphanage is safely fenced in from the street. 95 children (ages 4 through 18) live at palm tree and 30 people work there performing the duties of cooks, teachers, drivers and medical assistants.
the farm project is a plan to introduce cambodia to organic farming, and to expand its crops to include squash, pumpkin, watermelon and soybeans (among other vegetables). Other goals include construction additional buildings for housing and education, planting a bamboo grove, and giving interested older children a chance to learn and implement progressive and sustainable organic farming practices.
support for other ongoing projects: education - supplement to the four-hour government school day with classes in english, computer technology, and accounting. Sewing - staff memebers teach the children how to sew and create patterns enabling them to sell creations and futhering them on a path towards self-sufficiency. Alphabet soup program - establish schools in rural combodia, providing both educational and nutrition. These free schools will developed for children ages 3 -18. Other projects and programs are art, dance, music, excursions and recreation.
