I have been attending Downey Calvary Chapel since 1997. They have a Christian Book Store (that is one of the few left in this region). Calvary Chapel has a Café with clean facilities to come in for a beverage and snack... a place to do your studies... a place that has soft Christian music to listen to. Calvary Chapel Christian School has Pre-School through College Level curriculum courses.

I am at Calvary Chapel of Downey most every day of the week. I attend the Wednesday Bible Study; the Sunday Services; a Home Bible Study held in the Café for Men Only called the 5+CHRIST+ BIBLE Study (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 09:30 to 10:30 - also, on Saturdays from 11:00 to Noon; the MGM (Making Godly Men) Bible Study on Thursday evenings at 7PM; the Morning Prayer is available from 07:30 to 08:30 every weekday morning in the BCCR (Bible College Conference Room) which is to the left of the Café. I am involved in the Video Ministry. I have been on three Mission Trips to the Philippines; two trips with CCD to Israel, and one Alaska Cruise with CCD. So very many ministries for YOU to get involved in... these are a few of mine.

You may have read by now, and understood that I am a widower, retired, and have the time for this and so much more. The folks here at CCDowney are friendly. There is no 'Membership' or quota or number assigned to our congregation.

I encourage you to come to our Wednesday and/or our Sunday Services. Wednesday evenings at 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and Sunday Services at 08:30, 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM.

See you there.

Acts 2:42 (King James Version) reads: "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."

(The Apostles' Doctrine is the Word of God... the Holy Bible; The Fellowship talks of being WITH other believers, The Breaking of Bread refers to having Communion to remind us of what Jesus did for us; and be In Prayer - praying for your families, friends, politicians, military, police, widows, orphans... anyone that could need prayer)...
these are the basic things that we should all do as Christians.

I carved this Dove on leather to show our Calvary Chapel logo.
