My husband and I fell in love with a little dog at the shelter and immediately put our name in to adopt her. We were told we were #1 on the list. We were delighted. We were told we could take her home 6 wks after she was spayed. We visited her weekly for about 5 weeks. We held her, took pictures of her, had a sign made with her name added to her for our motor home, called many times to see when she would get her surgery. Her surgery finally took place either the day before or after Thanksgiving. I called the Monday after Thanksgiving to find out how she was and when we could Take her home. I was told someone else had adopted her and they were picking her up the next day. I was shocked and angry. No apology just “someone must have made a mistake “ by a very cold sounding woman. The staff knew us since we were there all of the time and they had to get her out of her kennel for us to hold her. We will never adopt from them. Beware!
