Mission: The specific purpose of california ricelands waterbird foundation is to facilitate the creation of a migratory bird habitat on california rice lands to ensure the availability of enhanced wildlife habitat in the central valley, which will provide a home to wildlife species of concern.
Programs: Nearly 800 acres of habitat enhancements and assessments of nesting cover habitat. This means that we used funds to pay landowners to perform functions outside of their normal farming practices on 779 acres to benefit waterbirds. These involve applying water to flood lands and specific times and depths that are known to be beneficial to waterbirds.
