Mission: The foundation's mission is to improve the oral health of all californians by supporting the dental profession and its efforts to meet community needs.
Programs: Charitable care programs: the cda foundation's primary exempt purpose is to expand access to dental care for underserved californians. The cda foundation accomplishes this goal through innovative access to care programs and services that expand preventative and restorative dental care to the most vulnerable segments of the population - young and special needs children, the elderly, working poor families, and those facing multiple, complex barriers to achieving care.
student/member assistance: the cda foundation provides student scholarships and faculty fellowships to support oral health professionals who seek to practice in underserved communities and provide care to california's most vulnerable residents. The cda foundation relief fund provides a safety net of financial assistance to dental professionals and their families in times of disaster, catastrophic injury, or physically debilitating injury resulting in the person not being self-sustaining.
research: the cda foundation conducts research to assess california's overall oral health needs and enhancements to the oral health delivery system in order to identify, and ultimately reduce, barriers that underserved individuals face when seeking dental care. In order to maintain the highest level of credibility, the cda foundation partners with well-respected research organizations and academic centers to engage in relevant and pressing issues in the dental care delivery system.
