Mission: To help save lives of people who need blood by providing information, support, and education to blood banking professionals involved in transfusion medicine.
Programs: Annual meeting - a three day annual meeting was held where 33 speakers from different transfusion medicine disciplines (medical, technical, research, administrative, donor resources, quality, safety and compliance, and apheresis/nursing) presented recent topics in transfusion medicine in simultaneous sessions. 190 people attended the meeting, including speakers. Continuing education credits were awarded for the annual meeting.
regional seminars - two full-day regional meetings were held that presented recent topics in transfusion medicine, including apheresis/nursing, donor resources, and clinical laboratory sciences. There were 60 attendees. Continuing education credits were awarded for all regional seminars.
