The Cacapon Institute is a small non-profit located in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Although they are a small non-profit, their impact on improving water quality in the greater Chesapeake Bay watershed has been immense. Their mission is to protect watersheds and rivers using science and education. The organization is actively involved in chemical and biological water quality testing, storm water management, and protection of riparian buffers.
